I honestly use a humidifier in my room when I sleep and steam my voice over hot water and cover myself for at least not more then 12 minutes and it works. I have all the products that are similar to yours but they don't offer the help I need.
@@nqobakhumalo Fair enough. Sometimes, the "old-fashion" way is the best. I like the steamers because they are quicker and more convenient but you are right, they may not give as much steam as a pot of boiled water. Thanks for sharing.
@@BuildYourOwnSmallBusiness I don't have any reviews on those devices. But I looked at the option of buying one. However, aestheticians use expensive equipment so I decided not to buy it.
Hello Katarina! Thank you very much for your fine tips. I found your channel after searching on YT. After watching one of your episodes about steam inhalers I purchased the Beurer SI40 Inhalator. It has not arrived yet, but I really look forward to start using it, since I use my voice daily in my work as a voice actor. I also have a tip for you regarding refilling your steamer with steralized water. You can purchase a Water Destiller and produce your own steralized water at a very low cost. I found this one at a very low cost on ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/4L-Water-Distiller-Internal-Water-Filter-Medical-Stainless-Steel-Home-Labs/283939017264?hash=item421c159230:g:C64AAOSwJNxfAwXS I hope it helps! Best wishes to you and your family! Most kindly, Daniel
I bought the Mabis based on watching your video! I'll be an occasional user (eg sinus infection), so went with this less expensive model. It really does generate a good amount of steam. (I have an older Conair facial steamer which is great and the plastic doesn't smell because it wasn't made in China, but I didn't want to steam my whole face for this). If I used my voice for a living and planned to steam every day, I would invest in the MyPurMist. Thx for demo'ing and telling us your thoughts about each. Very helpful.
So cute when you trying the steamers machines 🥰 tanx for you I have to buy the good one and try this new remedy cause I just hydrate my voice with water :/
Hi. I sing for a living, and I am 57 years old. I recently bought a 40-dollar steamer, Vicks Personal Steam Inhaler, V1200, from Amazon and absolutely love it! It heats up very fast and produces a lot of steam. I use tap water and no Vicks. Sometimes I steam for 40 minutes or so at a time. Is this too long? I worry that I may be damaging my lungs or body in some way. Is there a recommended time to steam? Also, what kind of water should I be using? I would greatly appreciate your advice. I just came upon your video an hour ago :)
Hi, I answered your question under a different video but here it is again: Using tap water is just fine for steamers (not nebulizers). If you want to be extra careful, you can use sterilized water but it is not necessary. I would recommend shorter steaming sessions throughout the day if you enjoy it so much. Maybe 3 times for 5 to 10 minutes.
We are all different. Try it and see if it makes a difference for you. But know that saline water will leave residue in the steamer, which can shorten life of the device.
Hi, this is super helpful. im looking at getting the pure mist steamer. i read in other comments that you ended up buying sterile water and using that in there. is that still working?
I have the MyPurMist and I haven’t gone over all the refills that came in with it yet, but I figured I can just use a syringe to add more sterile water once I finish all the refills. Wouldn’t that work?
Once your voice reaches the desired quality, do I continue to work the exercises morning and night or can I go to once daily or 3 times per week? What is your recommendation?
Excellent question! Listen to your voice. Every day will be different. If you wake up and feel that your voice needs more, then give it what it needs. You will find the right frequency for your voice. There are no hard rules, everyone is different.
Hi, wanted to ask: is it still working 2 years later? I keep reading reviews saying it breaks after a few tries. Although I suspect it's because they didn't read the manual start to finish, I still wanted to ask for your experience.
I am still using MyPurmist after 2 years. I don't use Mabis because it's less convenient (more work). But I can see that these machines will eventually break. It's definitely not for life.
Thank you for checking out my video. What is your favourite personal steam inhaler? Let me know in the comments!

Do you any reviews on steamers that aestheticians use on faces or ones that would pull double duty?

@@healthyvoicetips Thank you SO much for responding. I am doing it for 15 minutes twice a day now. You are awesome, thank you!
I have been using this on your recommendation, and it's fantastic! I've been using filtered water for MTD - do you think saline would be better?

Maybe you could buy sterile water at a pharmacy and some blunt syringes to refill it?
Yes, that's what I did in the end.

Should you use before or after singing?
You can use it before or after singing or between.
