For one, chopping a 48mp into 12? Starting with the 15 Pro they offered a 24mp mode and it 100% makes a difference for the pixel peepers. The ultra wide has been upgraded on the 16 Pros. Otherwise, it probably is neural engine improvements and a commonly seen difference between 15 Pro and 16 Pro is less shutter lag so there’s that. I am going from iphone 11 witha broken screen, charging port , display to a 16 pro max. Took me 4 years to save slowly for a new phone. I get it in 2 days really excited
Currently have the 14PM 1TB, already have the 16PM 1TB in transit. Two reasons why I’m upgrading: 1) ditching the lightening cable to the universal USB-C and 2) AT&T offered to pay off my device and give me an additional $500 trade credit. Plus they have the new AT&T program instead of paying 50% off the device you pay 33% to trade in early for an extra $4 vs the $6 I was paying. It’s truly sad Apple flopped this year with this phone. They need to do better. Bring back the fingerprint scan! Make a bigger iPad to compete with the ultra tab from Samsung. Adding an “extra” button is not innovative. Cumbersome now if anything with accidental triggers. And this “Apple intelligence”? Absolutely no reason to rebrand Siri. Clearly Apple forgot they were one of the first to bring such to the masses even since the iPhone 4s 10 years ago. Siri walked so Alexa, google, Mercedes, etc could run. Why not re-emphasize on that instead of “Apple intelligence”?
My boy you realize all these reviews are subjective right ?listening to enough of them you will find the truth in the middle.just enjoy the content and form your own opinion instead of listening and being influenced by somebody else
MISTAKE FOR VIEWERS: the charging cable is not longer, it's just less curled around. The included cable in the box of the iphone 16s are still 1 meter long in length, it just looks different when packaged this way.
3:40 your iphone 15 pro max no longer has oleophobic coating and that’s the reason why fingerprints are more visible. Screen protector not only protects the display from scratches but it also protects stock oleophobic coating
I didn’t hear any difference. Moreover 14 pm has better speaker than 15 pm I think. Should have compared 16 pm against 14 pm. I have 11 and I am considering buying the 14 pm.

I upgraded from a 14PM to a 16PM 2 days ago. I had no complaints with the 14PM I just switched because of an offer that was given to me and my fiance at a carrier and we went for it. She jumped from the 12PM and I know she will definitely feel the difference between her old phone and her new phone. In my case I really don’t feel any change except for battery. My 14PM had 87% max capacity after 1.5 years and didn’t last as long as one would think but it really was a good phone overall. Over delivered on every task I asked it to do. If you think you are losing a lot of features by saving money on the 14PM instead of just going straight for the 16PM you really aren’t. Just letting you all know.
Suggestion: Since most people don’t upgrade year over year. When showing various scores for benchmarks why not have the onscreen graphics display older phones scores as well. That way people who have an iPhone 13 or 14 who are actually considering upgrading would be able to see the improvements.
the only thing i like, is the fast 45w charging , else its pointless to upgrade . so i will skip this year's upgrade, and stick to my 15pro max for now..
As a 14Pro user i enjoy 16Pro upgrade.. they should swap the camera control button location with action button so that it’s more natural to reach & perform scrolling action in portrait mode.. works well in landscape too
My iPhone 15 Pro Max got a stability percentage of 76.5% and the best loop score was 1202 and the lowest loop score was 919. I don’t always trust benchmark comparisons. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is still a fantastic performing phone. Also, my iPhone 15 Pro Max is recovering from being hot after less than a minute of doing heavy stress tests. The iPhone Pro Max literally does not have heating problems like it used to. Normally, the phone runs cool. When I place it in front of a fan, the phone stays cool even if I upload multiple 4GB videos on Instagram. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is marginally better in terms of gaming percentage. I’d rather game on a decent gaming PC over any mobile device, period. Also, I rather have the iPhone 15 Pro Max over the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Love seeing the upgrades Apple don’t talk about. Shame, they don’t talk about the speaker enhancements or WiFi cellular connectivity or thermal improvements but get why they don’t… Luckily we have you to talk about it Max 😂
Yeah one of the features I‘m most happy about upgrading from a 13pm. Glad to see it’s even better once again. Was always jealous hearing my dads 14p and that wasn’t even a max.
Awesome job, it's great to see such a detailed video with actual testing (not just superficially covering the marketing details like some other channels).
Oh wow I didn’t finish the video before I made the first comment. I just noticed he said the lowest score on the 16 promax during the nomad light test was more than the highest score for the 15 promax during that test. See this is the stuff people don’t talk about or don’t know about. 16 pro max is not a minor upgrade. I guess it really all depends what you do with your phone. I use it as my main media hub for gaming video all that stuff it’s a big upgrade to me.
basically, if you don't write the model under the photos, it's difficult to understand if it's 15 or 16! except in slow motion which is used once every 300 videos!
I’m definitely holding on to 15 pro max cause I just got it at December last year 2023. It’s still a fantastic iPhone after I trade my XS Max to the next.
I'm using 15promax while my workmate uses 14promax, we put the SAME SETTINGS on both phone for videos and guess what, 14pmx is literally better than 15pmx! I kinda regret getting the 15
I’m a photographer and use my phone to connect to my canon all the time to view photos and even edit for social media post or to send them to family and friends on the go so I was really hoping the screen, camera as well to be a night and day difference and upgrade from the 15 pro max not happening… i haven’t had my phone overheat ones yet… maybe from getting a later model 15 pro max not sure
Hey guys, don't usually comment on your videos, but thought I would add my thoughts. Typically I'm not a heavy user. I typically upgrade my phone maybe every 3 to 4 years depending on if the new one has a feature I need, or want improvements too, or if my battery is having issues. For example my current 15 Pro Max was my upgrade from a 12 Pro Max, and the 12 Pro max was my upgrade from a 7 plus. Typically the iPhone is a tool and communications device for me first and camera and portable media player second. I typically buy the pro Max as the larger screen is good for me having low vision, and I'd rather pay for features I may not use, and not need them over needing them and not having them.

I think my favorite test was the steel nomad light and thermals. It’s not an exact replica to a high intensity game at length, because this test pushes it much further than any game. But it’s a great representation of the 16 promax ability to sustain performance much better. I’ve noticed it on my phone when playing lengthy amounts of death stranding. It’s noiiiice
If no play game too much, not important to upgrade. Or you have a problem with Parkison, should upgrade to 16 pro. But 15 pro already have good anti-shaking camera
I’m actually a bit more impressed with the larger screen and the smaller bezel than I thought I would be. I also think that the camera speed is better. I thought it was really laggy on the 15 PM.
Will you do a test when moving between WiFi and cell? I believe you did last year comparing 14pro max and 15 pro max. The 14pro max moved so slow between the 2 signals and your test proved it with the 15pro max last year. I almost upgraded because of it.
Question: Are you actually able to shoot 48 megapixel images in low light mode on the iPhone 16 Pro Max? Because the iPhone 14 Pro Max caps out at 12 megapixels when shooting in low light mode. It would be awesome to still get full resolution images in low light mode. It was kind of unclear at 13:59. Thanks!
I compared my Desert Ti 16PM to my Gold 14 PM and it is noticeably pinker. It very much looks more rose gold in certain lighting conditions. I actually love the color in person and it looks way better than photos would suggest.
Where do you guys see all that pink? There's zero pink in it. The bezels are sort of copper-coloured, the back is off-white with a slight tint of yellowish-orange (hence the "Desert" Titanium).
Even though I’m on the Apple upgrade program, these yearly minimal changes have me thinking about getting out. My son has my old 13PM which was I got in the upgrade program for the 15 PM and my wife has her 14PM and all 3 run like champs.

You nailed it! I have the 15p max and looked at the trade in value towards the 16pm and said so what am I actually paying the difference for? The new photo button? No thanks I am good.
Marked battery life improvements (hours more), less lens flare and other camera, mics, and thermal improvements, did you actually bother watching the video?? some of it is incremental but it's definitely not just a button. @@chrisanderson9981 it’s just a button for me. I’m not here to speak to rationalize for your friend or to “suck out fun”! You want it go get it! Same. It’s most common upgrade then it’s people coming from 13 and 12. Then people from 11 or 10. People who upgrade yearly are in tiny minority according to all the statistics and polling.

I think it’s weird when people see a device that just came out and complain that it’s not that much better than the previous year or speak in a negative light about why they’re not interested in upgrading to the latest model while they still have the previous year. New phones aren’t meant to be upgraded yearly, but for those who feel like it’s worth the jump.
So true but next year they be buying 17 and he happy. I’ll be skipping 17 cause I’m on odd years. I get the refined phone. Most people upgrade every 2+ years not yearly. Mean hey if I was rich I’d upgrade yearly cause I’m into tech but not cause there’s massive leaps. It just really sucks cause every time it’s my upgrade year it’s people moaning about how it’s stupid and Apple should just move to 2 year cycle, they’d be angry however if Apple did that starting now and skipped next year.
Thinking of buying a 15 pro max, does the Dynamic Island always get in the way of videos in landscape mode? Or can videos be letterboxed to get around the Dynamic Island cut out?
The solution for the iPhone 15 Pro series overheating issue involved throttling the A17 Pro chips through the software update we had couple weeks after launch. I’ve been noticing constant slowdowns on my 15 Pro Max since then. Essentially, the current performance of the A18Pro is what should have been the baseline of the A17 Pro. It’s a thermal fix after all with some comestic design improvements of the chip.
The update fixed a looping problem. Those phones were overheating when people weren’t even doing anything on them. What Max is talking about is heat from heavy stress load. Not some looping software bug. Get your facts straight

No need to gaslight yourself about an older phone being as good as a new one, instead, tell yourself that having slightly better detail in the shadows or the sign at the edge of your photo appearing sharper isn't worth a week's wages 🤣
Saw the Desert titanium in person yesterday, it’s interestingly different than it looks on camera. Quite rose gold under certain lighting
Yeah seen it on the train as well and definitely looks a little better in person than on camera.
The videos online really don’t capture what it really looks like. It certainly is just rose gold.
@@shadowkilla245 For me it's the opposite, it looked better in the keynote
@@AzVfL really I like it in person it looks like a rose gold
It seemed more like a 16 PM promotion rather than honest comparison.
Slightly better cellular 😂 2 times
My boy you realize all these reviews are subjective right ?listening to enough of them you will find the truth in the middle.just enjoy the content and form your own opinion instead of listening and being influenced by somebody else
Huh? The phone is just better lol
@@StudyWithNika he was talking about on the rails not on the screen and he said the fingerprints are more visible on the 16
I wonder if it’s possible to add your own oleophobic coating?

Are you being sarcastic?

I didn’t hear any difference. Moreover 14 pm has better speaker than 15 pm I think. Should have compared 16 pm against 14 pm. I have 11 and I am considering buying the 14 pm.
@@MrGobo Yikes. 14pm is outdated tech. Lightning port is dead

15 pro Max performs better in 18.1 btw
My iPhone 15 pro max might be an exceptional performer. On geekbench 6 my single core is 2972 and my multi-core is 7458. I’m on iOS 17.7
@@sammyjammy6647 iOS 17 has been in active public development for over a year now. iOS 18 has been in active public development for 3 months. 17.7 is a heavily optimized OS. 18.0 is just getting started. It’s a natural and logical assumption that by 18.7 the bugs will be worked out and the system will be more heavily optimized.
Iphone cable isn't actually longer than the old cable.
I was wondering this. I was almost regretting buying new long cables but now I’m not. Thanks for this comment!
I wish you would compare their heat dissipation and how fast the 16 pro recover to normal temperature with the new thermal system
Suggestion: Since most people don’t upgrade year over year. When showing various scores for benchmarks why not have the onscreen graphics display older phones scores as well. That way people who have an iPhone 13 or 14 who are actually considering upgrading would be able to see the improvements.
I’m only getting the 16 because my 15 has heating issues outside of gaming. Hopefully the 16PM addresses this
It’s still going to be hot 🥵
the only thing i like, is the fast 45w charging , else its pointless to upgrade . so i will skip this year's upgrade, and stick to my 15pro max for now..
As a 14Pro user i enjoy 16Pro upgrade.. they should swap the camera control button location with action button so that it’s more natural to reach & perform scrolling action in portrait mode.. works well in landscape too
But then action button would be I. Horrible place
Action button is just pressing in so not difficult compared to scrolling motion of the camera control
Bro I feel that, just upgraded from 15 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max, the thermals are much improved. I had to use a MagSafe cooler with my 15 Pro Max.
Can we just admit the 16 is simply the 15s?
Literallyyyyy
Apple addressed thermal management in a big way for the first time EVER this year. They aren’t the same phones. A line has been drawn.
This is typically the model to get. They’re doing a redesign next year, the last of the previous design always has the most refinement.
@@TheTrafficBossI agree
Agreed.
Yeah but he did it after geekbench test. That's why. 16 Pro Max's thermals are really superior
Geekbench Multicore 6912 to 8133 is not 28% faster, don't know where you got that percentage from 😀 It's more like 17,5% faster.
Love seeing the upgrades Apple don’t talk about. Shame, they don’t talk about the speaker enhancements or WiFi cellular connectivity or thermal improvements but get why they don’t… Luckily we have you to talk about it Max 😂
It’s crazy how excited I am about the speaker tests
Yeah one of the features I‘m most happy about upgrading from a 13pm. Glad to see it’s even better once again.
Was always jealous hearing my dads 14p and that wasn’t even a max.
That's why last year I've skipped iPhone 15 pro max and got my 16 pro max 😊
Awesome job, it's great to see such a detailed video with actual testing (not just superficially covering the marketing details like some other channels).
Why the fuck would you get the 16PM when the 15PM is already an amazing phone? I'm not changing it for at least a few years.
Because heat issues are horrible and battery sucks on the 15 pro
I upgraded from a 14 Pro Max. to the 16 Pro Max awaiting delivery hope the difference is bigger than the 15-16 up grade

Watching on my Black 16 Pro Max
Please do a thorough review of the Pro as well, thermal, speaker differences between the Pro and Pro Max
These UA-camrs are trying very hard to make 16 better but we know that is nothing different than previous generation.
Wrong
I’m actually a bit more impressed with the larger screen and the smaller bezel than I thought I would be. I also think that the camera speed is better. I thought it was really laggy on the 15 PM.
Camera is laggy? WTF dude😂😂😂😂🤡🤡
Lord give me the excitement max has for every small upgrade 😁
Will you do a test when moving between WiFi and cell? I believe you did last year comparing 14pro max and 15 pro max. The 14pro max moved so slow between the 2 signals and your test proved it with the 15pro max last year. I almost upgraded because of it.

Question: Are you actually able to shoot 48 megapixel images in low light mode on the iPhone 16 Pro Max? Because the iPhone 14 Pro Max caps out at 12 megapixels when shooting in low light mode. It would be awesome to still get full resolution images in low light mode. It was kind of unclear at 13:59. Thanks!
Desert looked really pink in person
I have the desert titanium. I don’t see any pink. Must be one of those dress is blue / yellow situations.
I compared my Desert Ti 16PM to my Gold 14 PM and it is noticeably pinker. It very much looks more rose gold in certain lighting conditions. I actually love the color in person and it looks way better than photos would suggest.
Yeah I am returning it for a different colour
I love it. It's super subtle
Where do you guys see all that pink? There's zero pink in it. The bezels are sort of copper-coloured, the back is off-white with a slight tint of yellowish-orange (hence the "Desert" Titanium).
Add a magnetic cooler at the back, the stress test is even better than iPhone 16 Pro Max with more than 88% stability. What kinda comparison is this 😂
Do the speakers on the 16 ProMax produce a fuller sound while listening to music on Bluetooth speakers vs the sound of the speakers on the 15 ProMax?

I stiill have an iPhone 8 (daily driver). How many reasons do I have to upgrade to 16 Prox Max? :D
I got my 15 pro max since launch, I will keep this phone until iphone 20 pro max lol. Calling 15 pro max “old” after a year is crazy hahaha.
U need to buy the 16PM
Even though I’m on the Apple upgrade program, these yearly minimal changes have me thinking about getting out. My son has my old 13PM which was I got in the upgrade program for the 15 PM and my wife has her 14PM and all 3 run like champs.
I have a friend who had the lovely blue titanium 15 pro last year who is buying a 16 pro this year. He is going to get £510 back for a trade in. I almost wanted to say:
“So you are paying £580 for an extra button? Got it….”
I have a friend like you who would try to suck out the fun just to justify why they aren't taking an upgrade.
@@chrisanderson9981 it’s just a button for me. I’m not here to speak to rationalize for your friend or to “suck out fun”! You want it go get it! My battery life in mine is great, I never noticed the lens flare as an issue, the mics were never an issue and I game on my pc, AVP, series X or ps5 so thermals don’t even impact me. So for ME it’s a button. If for you, you want to get it go for it. I rather wait for the M4s MacBooks
@@chrisanderson9981 for my use case it’s just a button. My battery life is still great, the lens flare is something I didn’t have a problem with, the mic hasn’t been an issue since I use external mics and thermals don’t matter to me because for gaming I use my PC, AVP, series X and ps5. I purchase for my own use case, not others. So if my opinion or your friend’s use case “sucks out fun” then maybe you should purchase based on your own requirements and not others.
@@chrisanderson9981 I am not stopping anyone having the upgrade. I would understand if it was a jump from the 12 or 13 to the 16 BUT to lose about half the value you paid for something to get an upgrade is a kicker. I have used the 15 pro and it’s a great phone. I guess my philosophy is that you don’t upgrade a product based on how good the new one is. You should base it on how bad the product you currently have is.
I must say I did not hear a big difference between the 15 pro max and the 16 pro max when watching the video on my MacBook Pro M1 16 inch. Both sounded great for a phone
Ordered the 16 pro max today. I’m running the 14 pro max, currently.
Same. It’s most common upgrade then it’s people coming from 13 and 12. Then people from 11 or 10. People who upgrade yearly are in tiny minority according to all the statistics and polling.
Looking at this video, it is best to buy the 15 pro max on discount
Only worth upgrading if you;re a couple of versions behind, unless a new button and different colours are you’re thing, and if they are you have too much money to waste 😂
I expected optical zoom in this one. Like this I'd still recommend the 14 Pro Max because of the focal length distribution.

I saw the Samsung camera that had 100 X digital zoom which was unbelievable awesome I thought Apple would at least try to compete, but apparently not
I would be curious to see how the bench mark performance will reflect once all of the Apple Intelligence software features are added.
