VLOG - Selling The CJ-7, L-82 Short Block Goes To Machine Shop, Parts Updates

This weekend I didn't get a lot of work done in the shop because I was concentrating on selling a member of fleet sadly.

I replaced the radiator in my C3 with a Dewitt direct fit radiator in the black finish. It wasn’t cheap, but it fit perfectly. If you go with the Dewitt, be sure to get their radiator cushions. The stock GM ones don’t fit snuggly enough. I also replaced the stock water pump with a high Flow model from Stewart Components. It looks stock, you can’t tell the difference. Also sure you replace all the seals around the radiator. I’ve had no overheating problems even with a/c running.

Machine shop work has become a crappy business to be in. Machinists get paid minimum wage but the skill required is anything but minimum wage.

@@ImpalamansGarage this is my experience with these kinds of shops also. Without side tracking too much, machining is a hobby of mine. I tend to buy used tools from other hobbyists or more often from business that are going under. The later is quite true up here in NJ and while I like speaking to shop owners most of the time I would not want to be in their shoes. One thing is for certain I love the hobby and love learning about it.
