Hi, can you share what kind of battery pack you use for this plane? If the V2 it’s reflex, how say is to connect and still have your mixes and rates? Finally, what kind of afterburner is this? Thanks for sharing
First, love this jet...easy to fly and land!!! Battery: 6S 4000mah. Was able to find a V1 without Reflex. Reflex still requires a receiver and I thought it would be cheaper to get the V1 and put an AR630 in it which I did. Wish Reflex had receiver built-in and then I might consider it. The Centerburner is the KC RC model(kmrcmodel.com/) where it is a universal model independent of the motor size. The one I have is an early version where you can't really set where the light comes on wrt to the throttle. This is why when she is at idle you still see the light flicker. They have a version 2 now which may allow you to set the low end of the light. I usually use the centerburners from rc-castle.com. For a single 70mm the KC is $39 and rc-castle is $44 currently. If you see my other jet videos they all have the rc-castle centerburners except the F14 which has rc-geeks centerburner.
@@Zek1701 thanks a bunch! Just ordered two 6S 4000 packs! And I ordered the FMS F18 70mm TrueFire and BlueFire afterburner for 50 bucks . Also ordered the Callie Graphics set for the same livery as yours but still missing the color for the top and vertical stabilizers, what color did you use for that? Also , did you also painted the scale pilot helmet? Please share!
@@calircpilot4261 Using green Frog tape I painted my F18 to look like Maverick's livery. Search "maverick f18 livery" to get the colors. Mine looks like them. I considered painting the helmet but I didn't want to risk the cockpit so no I didn't paint it.
Not sure I followed you. I built this model per the manual. However I have built kits where I wanted the servo on the inside of the vertical stab. Just use exacto knife to cut through the servo hole using hole as guide to cut thru to the other side. Then take the cutout piece on glue on the other side. Spackle and paint and you can't tell the difference. Obviously, the control horn has to be reversed on the stab.
@@Zek1701 well, The V2 I just bought come with the servos on the outside…. I figure it was too much trouble to cut and such so I left it like it is… wish I could send you a picture. It is badass!!
@@calircpilot4261 Yea I see that. That stinks.. not sure why manufacturers do that. Mine has them on the inside. You can fix that if you want. Look at this video(ua-cam.com/video/E-c0KBj8dcU/v-deo.html) at position 1:40 on how I did it on an F22 kit I built. It's not hard to do. The control horns are screwed on so just reverse them. For the servos you just need to move the servo control arms 180 degrees. You may have to reverse the rudder in the transmitter - can't remember. That's it. Love that jet - it's almost perfect. Easy to fly and land, will do anything my pilot skills can handle and it gets 4 minutes+ on a 4K battery!!! All at a good price. My only heart burn with the V2 is either provide a receiver with Reflex with model or make a PNP option without Reflex
such a cool model i love the lights on the pipes to simulate afterburning fire
Killer jet. Awesome flying bud

Wait a minute! How did you swap the vertical stabilizers for the servo controls to be in the inside? Can you please share how you did this? Thanks!

@@Zek1701 thanks for the reference to the servo swap! It make sense. Stay well!
Could barely see the airplane flying. Get a real camera with a telephoto lens.............
Yep, hard to film when it’s just you and runcam on a hat. But better than nothing.
@@Zek1701 I use a similar cam. It was a good video bud. Some of us can't afford a telephoto lens.
