Hiking Derwent Edge and Back Tor in the Peak District

- This week I am back in the Peak District meeting up with Zara where we follow a circular hiking trail from Derwent Dam up to Back Tor and along Derwent Edge. Join us this Sunday at 17.00 as we explore more of the stunning Peak District National Park.

I have been to Derwent Dam, I've been to Back Tor, but I've never been up that way. It certainly looked a beautiful route up via Lost Lad. We had trouble getting up on Back Tor, too. You sort of jam yourself into the rock crevice and get the first foot up somehow. You certainly have to work for it. Congratulations on getting to it, Yasmin. It is beautiful up there but a sad story with Lost Lad. Beautiful vistas and some great footage Yasmin. Thanks for sharing. Another great Hiking Mission completed.
Yes it was the easiest trig to get up lol but got there in the end 😁thanks Chris we did enjoy this one it’s a nice loop to do

Yeh I remember commenting about the reservoir being low too when we were there as it surprised me. After all the rain I’d expect it to have been full!

Heather's looking colourful I noticed, something we found for ourselves on a walk this week in the South Pennines. Long time since I was on Dewent Edge; good to be there again thanks to you film.

That is a really cool place. I really love the Dam in the beginning. It is like a castle. All tye big boulders are really cool. And the views are amazing. Have a wonderful day!!!

Finally got the chance to sit down and watch this all the way through! The drone footage has come out spectacularly, you just keep getting better and better with it! And it made me laugh how much our attire changes in this - it really was a coats-on, coats-off sort of day 😂 Portia has been sat by me and I think she enjoyed watching it too 😸

You do such a nice job of working in the drone footage from your hikes. Such a nice mix of that and regular camerawork. This looks like a wonderful day to hike and great views from the top. Looked a little windy but not too bad.
It was a little windy at back Tor but luckily that sun came out soon after we started our descent 😁 thank you I am enjoying using the drone

The drone is certainly adding a new dimension to your videos. I recognise this area from Instagram. Looks a good walk and you had some lovely skies for it.
I do like the drone even if I’m not as brave as some people with it 😅 I agree it make some of the places really look like they are in the middle of nowhere

i,m glad zara gave you a push and pull to get to the trig it was hands and knees for me but it was cover,d in snow lol . great views from up there just missing a bench 😂😂some great pictures as well 👌👌

Yasmin definitely does herself a disservice as she got up to the trig mostly herself - I had a dodgy knee and foot at the time so my pushing and pulling capabilities were limited anyway! 😂

I needed a bit of help as to where to place my feet a little to get up, it wasn’t the easiest rock to get up lol they had to go and put the trig up there 😂😂
