Bizarre that they didn't test the welds first... it's common sense. Even making a weld liquid tight is a challenge, let alone gas tight. One look at those welds tells you they need to be tested.
perpetual motion is possible, but not by using those dumb methods. you have to think about using gravity or quantum mechanics to achieve this, but even then it's not truly "perpetual". you can't create energy out of nowhere, you can extract it or convert it only. you can convert gravity into electricity, but it doesn't come out of nowhere. i had that flywheel idea aswell, but all it can do is prolong the battery life. i might be wrong, but somewhere i heard that kind of method can make battery last 90% longer, which is huge. you'd have to use maglev to remove friction from equation, but even magnet use force. there's no direct friction, but it still applies force to objects, which slows things down. my idea about the flywheel, is that you make it really heavy and use very small motor that can't make the flywheel spin, but it can maintain the spin. so you have to crank it up by hand and then motor would keep it spinning. and ofc use maglev to make it frictionless. i think similar method was used to get 90%+ battery life.
even if? it **did** work, even though it was horribly unoptimized. You need an engineer to calculate the evaporation rates, and heat sinks to absorb heat better, and something like a heat pipe to wick up the fluid faster. Even then you can easily calculate the energy that's coming out of it - less than what's going in. A whole lot of effort for just a few watts.

Wouldnt Wind or Sun driven devices be considered "free-energy" in that sense.... they sucks energy out of the environment. sure the machines are expensive to build and maintain, but that doesnt seem to be considered in any other free energy device either
Random question, does anyone remember an episode where they get a new version of bullet proof polycarb and rhey do a comparison of thebold blast shields and the new stuff. It's not when Adam challenges Jamie on his determination that his half inch sheeting was bullet proof because I distinctly remember Jamie being kind of annoyed at the standards of the old stuff
The episode you're referring to is likely "Spy Car 2" from Season 9, Episode 3, which originally aired in 2011. In this episode, the MythBusters team tests various myths related to spy cars, including bulletproof materials. They compare old and new bulletproof polycarbonate materials and discuss the standards and effectiveness of each. Jamie's annoyance at the older standards and the team's detailed comparison fit the description you've provided.
I think there's another episode other then "Spy car 2" where they do test Jamie's clam of "practically bullet proof" I think it's in the first Archimedes Death Ray episodes. S2 Ep 4
Perpetual motion: Well in space or zero gravity. Once kinetic energy is induced a.k.a motion. Then the object that holds the energy keeps on going, pertatual. So with a friction less system. Maybe free energy can be a thing.
I personally stuck the outside of my hand (just below the pinky finger) into a ceiling fan on high. Just a standard fan. (Not on purpose, I was taking off my shirt and forgot it was up there 😅) and it split my hand open. Stitches and swelling to twice its normal size. I think they should have come in from the outside of the blades maybe?
It's too bad they eventually got rid of Scottie. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Kari as much as anyone does but scottie was great too. She had good chemistry with the rest of the crew, she always seemed to know what she was doing, she wasn't afraid to get silly, and she was never posturing for the camera or attention.
.... The good doctor Hanzi' - does look more than a bit alike ..... FRANKENSTEIN !! (I knéw Frankenstein was behind the idea of 'Mythbusters' all along).
most of the things they did were kinda anti science in this one. seems weird when they are normally very open minded. this seems very biased and with an agenda.
When rewatching these episodes nowadays I notice the added annoying SFX but holy crap this episode takes the cake with the fake wind blowing during the desert scenes. You see literally no wind blowing and then have that playing at all points even during cutting to a different scene the wind still goes without skipping in the sound. But what was most disturbing is the graphic made where Kari is in bed....and Adam jumps into it wearing a costume when the context we get is they are about to f##k. That is just yikes.
The best "free energie" are still Wind Turbines and photovoltaik. Its not really free in the sense of getting energy without a source but many of those they used had the same principle some even useing the sun.... I really wonder why they didn't thought of those two xD
Patrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a new mythbusters episode
The more I watch these UA-cam uploads of Mythbusters, the more I realize Adam is just a big kid and Jamie is an android who grew up into a man.
And Kari is an annoying pedantic little brat

it's always been available if you have any common sense and know where to look
Thanks for putting this up I have been hoping someone would make this available
Burnt Buster on the throne looks so gruesome! I hope they let him retire after this . . . or maybe just bury him.
Spoiler alert: Buster sticks around for the entire run of the show

Solar is basically "free" energy you just need tools to harness it.
