Thanks Jeff funny, I didn't even think telling you about my channel. Probably not much here for you right now but I hope to add some things in the future that might be of interest to you.
Holy crap. That was awesome. Your brushwork, your color, the layering! It’s so direct and honest. The absolute opposite of noodling! Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m a fan!
I'm a beginner with gouache (usually paint with acrylics) and your painting style/methods are exactly what I was looking for. Thank you !!! Excellent..... I need to go see what other gouache videos you have posted..... Oh dear...... not much..... Please share some more gouache landscape painting tutorials..... This painting is beautiful !!
Thank you Susan for your comment. I always intend to do more videos then I managed to get done. Your request for more videos is helpful. I'll do my best to get some more uploaded as soon as I can, thank you again and happy painting.
@@SpikeRess Thank you !! I would really appreciate it. I just looked at your watercolor paintings on your website. They are beautiful. You say they are "watercolor" but are they a mix of "transparent" watercolor and gouache? I don't see any that are labeled as gouache paintings....
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make more gouache videos!! I found yours very helpful, as I'm just starting out and need more tips/videos on making paintings that are along these lines. Have subscribed so hope to see more!
Thanks Paula, I have always meant to do more than I managed to get done but I'll TRY TRY TRY to do more soon. Glad to know you enjoyed it and that it was helpful.
I enjoyed this very much, but if you had shown us the reference photo, it would have been a more useful learning experience. Do you have it? Put it below?
Hi Sarah, Sorry I did over look showing the reference. Not sure how to add an attachment here but if you're interested you will fine the reference photo here. - spikeress.com/images/Ghost_Ranch_Reference.jpg
@nicholaslane9448 Thanks for asking. It is simply a 1/2 inch plastic rod with model airplane tires at each end so it will roll parallel with itself. I use it all the time with watercolor and gouache paintings.
Thanks for your question @Tony Stencel . Do you mean where is the reference image from or do you what to see the reference image it's self? The location was the area just north of Ghost Ranch, New Mexico.
I love gouache that's beautiful

I don't think I have any gouache paintings on my website, so if they're labeled watercolor that's what they are. Thanks again for your interest.
A fantastic painting and demo. Thanks.

Very nice Spike. Hope to see more.
Hey thanks Mike, will do! I'm having fun with it. It's kind of like a cross between watercolor & oil. Give it a go, you might like it!
Espetacular!
Thank you Luis Carlos Sanchez.
Thank you! this was inspirational. i went by that formation a couple of weeks ago. Your depiction is spot on!!

Thank you.
Thank you -- I want to try gouache!
Thank you Penny for your comment, you should try gouache it's just like watercolor but you can go opaque when needed.!
I enjoyed this very much, but if you had shown us the reference photo, it would have been a more useful learning experience. Do you have it? Put it below?

Anyone know what that cylindrical tool for the straight line they were using? Imma need that.

Wish i can do this,
With practice, practice and a bit more practice you might be able do it. Give it a try.
