I have a dodge hornet GT I love it it’s really fun to drive yes it’s fast but I now want the RT hornet but I am not going to keep the car forever only want the car for 2 or 3 years before the warranty expires as long as the service is covered bye warranty we all good
To all the people saying the Dodge is garbage, unreliable etc...I used to agree. But then my niece bought a 2023 Hornet GT plus and absolutely loves it. Was one of the 1st the local dealer got in so she has had it close to a year. She has had 20k problem free miles..zero issues. I drove it a few months ago on a visit home and I was shocked how well it drove. Powerful, great handling and it felt very solid, no squeaks, rattles etc... Is she just lucky? Maybe...but I was impressed enough after thinking about it that I bought one this past week, also a GT Plus. It was a leftover 2023 so I got over 9k off sticker (which was just under 40K). I had equity in my trade so when its all said and done over the 3 years of payments I will have paid just under 20k for it. I am hoping for the same reliabilty that she has had but if not its covered under the bumper to bumper warrenty for the full term of my loan. And while the resale may not be the best I can guarantee if I decide to trade it in after a year it will be worth more than I owe on it.
To all those people saying Dodge is unreliable. I have a 2014 Dart, which is a Dodge / Alpha Romeo mashup. Just rolled over 300 000 km with no major repairs. Have also owned several Dodge Caravans over the years, all have been pretty reliable. Am I just lucky?
Wait about 6 years from now when there's hardly any more Hornets left on the road because they're all broken down and then we'll see who the real winner was

How delusional are these car journalists? This Video shows clearly how out of touch they are with the reality. Most of these criticisms would be justified if these were sports cars but the average customer is definitely not going to buy a RAV4 expecting a Supra. "I'll take a slightly more cramped interior..", "..creep home in EV mode after your canyon run" "If they were full EVs they would be so much better". Misses the whole point of a Plugin Car, especially a Compact SUV.
Nice video. There's no comparison. The Rav4 is light-years above any Dodge, especially this Hornet. Faster, bigger, reliability, practicality, MPG/Range.
Wow. Could you be anymore bought and paid for by Dodge. That Toyota will outlast and cost less to maintain, plus be worth much more than that Italian clone. Unreal how sad the auto journalists have sold themselves out. Except for Jason Camissa.
You might be a Dodge fan boy. It shows just a little. The Toyota has more HP, is faster, goes further in all ev mode, goes twice as far on a tank of fuel!(what matters to this customer).....and you gave the win to Dodge? The Dodge was not superior in anything! Good job on a fair comparison. Enjoy the free Dodge you probably got for it that's going to rattle and fall apart, while yet another Toyota racks up hundreds of thousands of miles worry free.
Curious review as I don’t think anyone is cross shopping these cars. If you’re thinking of buying a Toyota you are not considering a dodge because perceived reliability. If you’re thinking of buying a dodge you’re not considering a Toyota because perceived boringness.
DUDE!!! been reading through the comments and you have been crucified 😂. I for one enjoy the driving experience above getting from point A to point B in a boring way. Just on looks alone I would not touch the Toyota. Besides car people as opposed to utilitarian people trade their cars every three to four years. OH!! and I have an Alfa Romeo Tonale, love it, and its BEAUTIFULL. 😍
I am commenting as I watch so I don't forget. Johnny Moron, Toyota has eCVT which is not the same as CVT. There are no belts or chains. There is actually a motor inside that control gearing.
My 23 RAV4 prime still has less than 5k miles on it and this comments section is making me giddy over my decision… it’s such a great car I call mine the Phantom Menace
It's funny he thinks the Rav 4 doesn't look good. I feel like one of it's big selling features are the design of the car. Also the different color top is why it's an XSE. it looks sportier that way. Also the dodge looks bland and ugly let alone the color
Jonny, time for some hair restoration to get that young adult hairline back? Can I recommend Mark Dauer in Century City? He did a great job with mine. Makes me look a decade younger.

Gotta admit, the Hornet is good looking. it simply stings the Rav4 in looks. However, I'd rather sleep with my sister than have a Dodge in the garage. Oh, and the Prime Rav4 is near impossible to find and when you do, they want $10 K over sticker on the TSRP.

Dodge Charger preferred? Is this a joke? Dodge Charger never sold more than 100K cars a year in the last 5 years. Toyota sold RAV4 on average 400K year after year. And if they could make more hybrids so people don't have to wait years they would sell even more. How many years does a Dodge buyer waits for the car?
