20:53, Spaniard also eats a 5 second penalty, for eating the wall at the chicane there.
finished 8th, dropped to 9th with the penalty but Super GT cut the video before we saw how much further the penalty dropped them.

From Adam's footage, you can see he begins the turn-in at the black box looking thing after the 50 board. He cuts the first apex but launches the car straight over the second apex. As long as you finish all your turning adjustments when you hit the first apex, you won't be fighting to control the car as much. Sure, it doesn't look pretty, but if you're not getting penalties for it... well, just have to work with the limits the game gives you.
*Most of the time you were turning in too late so when you're hitting the first apex, you're still pointing towards the right wall, which means you end up wide of the second apex while your wheels are squirming to straighten out instead of accelerating. Take a look at what building the car is facing when the car is airborne on the first apex to see the difference.
I came here to say the same. To me it looks like a slight inertia drift if you will. By the time you hit the first "jump" the wheels should already have you coming back. Of course I haven't played anything since gt3, so... I also agree his turns were late.

The way you and Adam brake into corners (or at least that one corner) is completely different:
3:18 Adam takes the chicane so only the left wheels go on the curb, shifting down to 3rd just before he goes over it. Speed at the curb is 84 MPH. He begins turning in about 1-2 car lengths before the sunlit area at 106 MPH, then reduces the steering angle while gently braking. His exit speed is 83 MPH and he carries a higher speed through the corner.
6:05 you are starting your turn-in at nearly the same spot but turning less and applying full brake while downshifting. By the time you're at the curb you're way wider and going 73 mph. Your exit speed is around 70 MPH. 6:20 is similar.
It seems to me like the way you're braking is causing you to be slow through the corner while understeering, but that's just what I can get from comparing that one corner. It may just be a feature of the car to turn in early at higher speed and expect the understeer instead of braking as you might in a better car. Best of luck.

I had never before seen a race where the leader deciding to not risk cutting a corner is probably one of the most dangerous situations that could happen on that race

That type of approach to a chicane is quite normal on the Adelaide street circuit in Australia. Even F1 cars used to do that (though not always successfully).

This race was a blast all week, finally got the pole position and win trophies! from the 30s all the way to 65 and 91 :)

Ironically however, it claims the lives of experienced and non experienced drivers, sending them to the shadow realm. It is not known what happens when a driver is sent to the shadow realm, but nobody has ever returned.

17:48 knowing how much this slows you down, why not get back into the slipstream immediately after the two passed, and let the "3rd" car behind go around you, so you can follow its slip stream?

This race ended up being more fun than i thought
Try downshifting right after the penalty zone if you time it just right itll cut momentum loss it's the lag mainly cause it puts you at the bottom of that gear so pop it to the top of the lower gear for a few should build up a higher rpm range shift being further in the next gear but you may get punted lol or even clutch drop it it just looks like it bogs being to low in rpm with that gear

should call it the gambler's chicane imo, since it's fairly easy to take conservatively but if you really go for it you can get a huge advantage just whether or not you make it unscathed is pretty much a coin flip
