You did a great job of explaining, thank you for the video.

Good video. I haven’t replaced rotors but seeing your videos gives me confidence. Do I not need a 2nd person to pump and hold the brakes while I bleed the valve?

Not if you're just replacing pads and rotors. No need to bleed them

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Questions; What did you press in with the vise-grip, was that the inner pad? With older cars, what spray lubricant would you use on tough nuts/bolts? Are the back brakes done the same way even though they’re discs & not rotors? Do you start and pump the brakes after each wheel or when done with all of them? Thank you!

      1. Pressed in the slave cylinder ie. The rod that compresses the pads, otherwise the cylinder will open up not allowing the clearance to fit over the rotor
      2. Depends on material the lube comes in contact with ie. Silicon spray for contact with rubber and regular grease for everything else
      3. Discs are rotors, you are thinking of drums, which are indeed done the same
      4. Do NOT start the vehicle to push fluid through

Yes I use the old pad to press the caliper piston in. There's tons of lubricants out there for stuck rusted bolts just comes down to preference. This model that I did had 4 wheel disc brakes that are all 4 done the same way round about. You only pump the pedal and start the car when fully done.

Helps if u turn the wheel and use a breaker bar with half in sockets

You needed to provide for the brake fluid to overflow and then bleed the brakes.

Next time I recommend the Bren rotor or that's what I put myself on my GS 300 03, they are more superior, they cost almost the same and they don't have as many holes.

Important tip: NEVER compress the pistons without opening the bleeder valve, you will force fluid in the wrong direction
