Love how professional your videos are. I just got mine in the mail and installed it. Your vid made it easy to install and not freak out because I'm a novice at DIY mods. I'll be taking it for a spin shortly but thanks much for the videos. I also got the rocker arm from Acuity. So I'll be watching that video next for install tonight
Hey man, thank you for the compliments! I’m glad my videos help you with installing your Acuity parts with ease! If you want a more detailed center console disassembly video for your rocker install, there is one I produced for the official Acuity Instruments channel as well. Cheers 👍
I just installed mine today. With the proper tools, it didn't take too long. Hardest part was to crouch on the floor of the foot well. I didn't bother removing the electrical connector (nor the battery (-) terminal, past bad experience with these connectors as they tend to break. I simply taped the gas pedal assembly to the brake pedal shaft while I installed the Acuity bracket. I tried the B setting at first but the gas pedal was way too high even for street driving as I have big feet. On the track the brake pedal would need to be depressed much harder (and lower) so the gas pedal needs to be set lower still, so I switched to the C setting. So far so good.
I'm so hyped about this. I traded a 15 Si for a 17, and the pedal positioning on the new car is really disappointing. I'm glad someone came up with a fairly simple solution.
I just got this for my 2020 si sedan. and i cant stand anything but position c. C is perfect for me. resembles oem just out towards you more. i have a fat foot so B gets in the way and A is to high up and out for my heel to reach correctly but Im loving it so far.
I regret buying this as the spacer is too thick . turns out I dont need this. you can just put several m8 washers underneath the throttle pedal then adjusting the brake pedal down a bit, which caraddict has a how-to video of it, is cheaper and easy solution.
Love your channel. On what setting do you currently have it on. I just installed it today on my R and left it on the B setting which feels a little close to my foot but will try it for a week then Ill try the C setting.
Hey Bro! You right! B Position is perfekt for my Type-R. I can now Control the Brake pressure when i downshifting at the same time😇. Thanks for the recommendation😁 Regards from Switzerland Dexter
After setting my pedal to position C and plugging in the connector, I noticed that the wiring to the connector has been pulled pretty taught when compared to positions A and B. I prefer position C. Has anyone had any issues with the wiring ripping out of the connector? Would hate for the connector to be break; especially when im driving.
I forgot to plug the TPS cable back in and started my car. A bunch of error warnings came up and my ODB reader pulled P2122 and P2127 codes. I erase the codes but they still pop up along with all the error messages. Is there a way to clear up this issue without having to go to a mechanic or dealer?
Innnnnnnnteresting. So, how does it stack up to the BMW's floor mounted pedal? Is it as comfortable? I have an Acura and a BMW and the difference is interesting. Rev-match downshifting is super easy in the BMW.
I believe that the new spacer improves comfort and ease of downshifting, more towards what I was used to with my bmw 👌. judging them as two different pedal systems, this part gives the car a large improvement that makes me feel more in control.
You should be able to remove the gas pedal and install the bracket with a 12mm socket/extension on a ratchet wrench. Then you'll need a 5mm Allen key or Allen socket set to bolt down the gas pedal onto the bracket using the new screws and washers. Their install guide has even more details if you want more content around this part!
Hi! I have a 2018 Hatch. Would you recommend this spacer for everyday driving too? I'm not plannign to heel-toe, but I find the gas pedal position a bit strange.
Most definitely, even if you don't heel toe, the positions available with the spacer make it more comfortable to engage between the gas pedal and brake pedal imo 🙏
@@Pawinning Great! :) Now I have to find out how much more expensive it will be with shipping to EU + duty. Thanks! It would be so nice if Acuity had a European partner.
@@cstrx11 You're in luck! Tegiwa and Dream Auto in the UK are both official vendors for ACUiTY. Hit them up! They should be able to help save costs on shipping :)
Hey Bro! Thanks for that nice video, I'm searching for that easy solution instead of buying other pedals. I hope this should it work on my honda civic 10th gen sport plus :-)
Hey man! Did you order parts from the website or through amazon/vendor? Merch isn't typically distributed unless it's ordered through the website. If you did order parts from the website, then please email russ@acuityinstruments.com to get the hookup on some swag gear👌🏼. I gave them the heads-up on your situation 😎.
Thanks. I did it without disconnecting the negative terminal but for some reason, my electrical connector wouldn't let the gas pedal reach all the way down to position C so I ended up using position B :(.
I would say great because there are two other options for relocation positions of that gas pedal on the spacer that may improve your foot placement. I’m not sure which one would suit your height best, but I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot acuity and email for their input! For me I wanted to relocate the pedal mainly because I was unhappy with how I couldn’t reach the gas pedal effectively if I’m trying to rev match the car when braking into the corners. Got small feet 😂
Oh gosh I’m sorry to hear that, the spacer will bring the pedal closer to you, you should only get it if you’re unhappy with the location in reference to the brake pedal. I don’t think the spacer will provide more spatial discomfort tho
I know this is an old post but all new cars do it because people are stupid and dont know there gas from there break pedal so they did it for safety reasons.
nice video but common man... you really need that spacer to downshift? Just rev match it.. the only thing I hate about these civics is that the clutch is so soft. I have a 92 hatch with a stage 3 clutch and its heavy as hell with a very high engagement point. My downshifts are always close to the speed for it and it hooks in great... Just saying that you need to know the speed and the right rev for it and you will have the same effect.
regular rev match downshifts are easy (no brakes involved) in my opinion... heel-toeing is for more performance downshifting (including the brakes) and i can see how it can be difficult for people with smaller feet due to the awkward gas pedal placement

Installed it, and Position C is best while driving, as when I brake, a tiny bit of "tap" of the gas is now possible!

You’ll love it! Nice exhausts, checked out your channel! are u guys developing one for the Civic Si Sedan?
Pawinning we are, got several things in the pipeline.

Yes yes yes yes!!! I bought the 2019 sport... i was so pissed off when i tried heel toeing, and no one seemed to have a solution!!!!!

awesome. I got one question: how do I tell them Pawinn sent me?
Leave them a review on their website! They love hearing feedback 👍

how do i remove the connector?

@@Pawinning I don't know many companys with that sort of customer service, one of the reasons I was willing to go with you guys to mod my car.
Is it necessary to disconnect the battery before doing this?
Not necessary, but just make sure the car is off. Best practice is to disconnect the battery, but tbh I didn’t do it
Thanks. I did it without disconnecting the negative terminal but for some reason, my electrical connector wouldn't let the gas pedal reach all the way down to position C so I ended up using position B :(.
After the install did you adjust seat position?
I think I moved the seat back a tad but not really much further adjustment other than that from what I can recall when I first installed it
Pawinning Probably gonna order one for my 18si. Gas pedal is for sure a little to far to the left of brake pedal.
how do u think it'll feel for someone that is 6'4? it's already hard for me to heel toe cause my knees are bent

Yes 👍

All good! I answer comments late too 😂🤘. I currently have it in position B
