'Would I consider a record player?' I *DO* own a Bluetooth-enabled turntable (a Target Heyday). There are some situations where it's a nice feature to have, but the fact is I don't see much point to it. I'm sure there are situations where it might be useful - listening with wireless headphones, for example, but I'd probably be perfectly happy without it.
Got this turntable today and I couldn’t be happier. I’m using Bluetooth because I have no space for dedicated speakers but have a Bluetooth enabled soundbar with subwoofer. Had a lot of fun playing and listening to my small record collection this afternoon!
I own one. Very, very pleased. I don't use the Bluetooth and have it wired directly to my integrated amplifier. The turntable has amazing sound... soundstage, details, highs are very, very good. I would highly recommend this turntable for the beginner.
I have the non-Bluetooth version of this table hooked to my Onkyo receiver playing through my home theater system. I love the sound this little thing makes! I really had forgotten how I used to enjoy listening to records as a kid until I started spinning them on this table. It's not the greatest turntable in the world, but my goodness, it punches above its weight and sounds really good.
Bought this turntable a couple of weeks ago and it's my first one ever. I think you've pretty much nailed it in the video. It connects with the bluetooth speakers literally with a touch of a button and doesn't require you to be a hacker to manage connections. The sound, to my beginner's ear, is pretty much fantastic and I can't see myself upgrading from this for a while. Love your chilled reviewing style. Thanks!
@@OoOM7md2000 It's the Samsung 6 series HW-J6000 curved sound bar with wireless subwoofer. Not the best thing in the world when it comes to mid tones but pretty good for the price.
The cartridge in this turntable is a version of the AT3600. While the cartridge is not replaceable, the stylus can be upgraded. LP Gear has an upgrade kit for the AT-LP60 that includes a new belt for the drive and an elliptical stylus for the cartridge.
Got one for Christmas as a gift from my girlfriend. I have not had a turntable since 1990...but my curiosity to play my remaining 75 albums meant I nudged her to get me one. I'm not bothered with going down rabbit holes with tweaking etc and I am happy to just enjoy the music. Sound quality is surprisingly good and it looks modern and has a small footprint. Plug and play....brilliant.
All I really wanted to know was is it worth the money and can I connect it with wires, and you answered both of those questions in the first third of the video. Thank you for that.
Every major concert today the guitarist is using Bluetooth. I don't think anyone complains the quality is not a good. Obviously you have to buy the equipment and the more you spend the better it is.
What are you using for speakers? This is on sale right now for Prime Day and I already have a Sonos system and I can work this in using the Roam and BT. Seems like any other methods will cost a substantial amount more. Do you still get the crackles and "record sounds" over BT?
Looks like a turntable that I'd really enjoy having in my office. Bluetooth quality is improving. I like being able to move my speakers around the room without having to hide wires. Looks like a great lifestyle turntable at a very affordable price. Don't let these plastic machines scare you. My 1995 Radio Shack no-frills turntable is a rebranded Audio Technica. Still playing well after 24 years.
I have this turntable. The only downfall about it is that it does not have pitch control. The needle of this machine is incredible, sound very clear and thick.
I ordered the Audio Technica Lp60xbt from Barnes and Noble for my sister as an early birthday present. She loves it and is gonna try to sell her Crosley suitcase record player
I prefer the old school stuff BUT this is a beautiful solution for my work studio where space is limited. Now I can actually have vinyl in house and not worry about having a bunch of additional components stuffed into a small space. For those that are into esthetic and don't mind pretty colors, Urban Outfitters has this model in Rose Gold. That's what I ordered!
This has been SO helpful. Thankyou for not using too much jargon. As a brand new, fledgling vinyl collector I was needing a well-worded, well-thought out review. I'll be buying one :)
Oh yeah, definitely, go for it. It's a tremendous little turntable and it can even be upgraded with a few tweaks here and there. I actually replaced the conical stylus with an elliptical from LP Gear, which I did last year. More recently, I removed the felt mat from the platter and placed a beautiful blue acrylic mat down in it's place. This improves rotation stability, produces tighter bass response and less surface noise than the felt. The elliptical stylus is also more responsive in the grooves than the conical. It's more active, tracks every nuanced curve more accurately, it's all over the place doing it's thing with more precision. If you have this turntable connected to a system with tone controls, WOW, all I can say is WOW. You now have a turntable boasting performance and sound quality way beyond what it sells for.
Andy makes a great review about the LP60XBT. Perhaps one thing he didn't touch on was the ability to upgrade the stylus, not the cartridge, but the stylus. Yes, this turntable, as many different models do, comes with the widely used ATN3600L cartridge with a conical stylus. This is where the potential for upgrade is there. A couple of months back, I became curious of what making the switch from a conical stylus to an elliptical would make to the soundstage on this turntable. I can tell Andrew, as well as anybody else who may be thinking about doing something like this, the change is worth it, it's a little more expensive, but worth it. You definitely get a difference with an elliptical tip, and this difference is still apparent whenever I like to use this turntable's bluetooth feature. Even my inexpensive speakers, the Logitech Z130's sound fuller and exhibit more detail, which may also be due to the fact that this turntable uses the aptX bluetooth audio codec. This is where I have to conclude my strong inclination to often use this turntable's bluetooth feature because of the hi resolution streaming it offers, and the elliptical tip clearly enhances the quality of the bluetooth sound to an absolutely beautiful level. It's the kind of turntable that emphasises the fact that bluetooth isn't just about convenience anymore, it's serious audio.
I just bought this turntable yesterday and if you’re on the fence about buying it, fucking buy it, and get to rocking. It sounds great. You aren’t going to live forever, you’ll be dead before you know it…..
I have this exact record player and I absolutely love the versatility of it. I prefer a wired connection when listening to records through speakers. And I enjoy listening to records with wireless headphones. I can't sit still whenever I listen to a record. This has given me the freedom to move around to dance and sing along. Overall, this is definitely the best value on the market right now.
@@ChrisAcosta29 great! Just bought one from Best buy. I'm really happy because I don't have the right wired speakers yet,but I do have a good ain't Bluetooth setup. However, I'm more into using my HD 58x headphones on it
So is it true that you can’t change cartridge and only the needle? I’d love to get an Ortofon for it If unable to change cartridge, is it a decent cartridge at least? Thanks in advance and cheers!
I have this at paired to a marshall stanmore ii speaker & am blown away by the quality. I do however hate the buttons, they really are bad, toy like in fact. I cringe when i press them but the overall sound quality makes up for it.
Andrew: I wish I would have found this review a couple of weeks earlier. I bought the AT-LP120XBT-USB (on sale at BestBuy, and IN STOCK!). Just getting back into vinyl, digging out all of my old albums, and WOW! I had forgotten how good vinyl sounds. Then I tried the BT function with a pair of Sony BT headphones. Again, I am impressed! No, it isn't the quite the same listening experience as when I want to sit and listen to everything being wired, but it IS better than streaming, and gives me the freedom to move about the house whilst listening to 40 year old albums. Price and simplicity of use were the only reasons I said I wish I had found your review earlier. That said, I love this turntable. It really does give me the best of both worlds. Just a side note: I am surprised at how scarce turntables seem to be right now. Maybe after a couple of months after stock has been replenished, they will be more plentiful. I know, Christmas was last month, and we're in the middle of a pandemic. I was still surprised at the lack of stock. Anyway, I love the channel!!! Have a great day!
I personally see this turntable as a nice way to make your collection portable for a gathering or party when paired with the cool Sony Bluetooth party chain speakers. For at home play and the overall vinyl experience I say nay to Bluetooth. What’s the point of it... the turntable never moves from on top of the record shelves and most are not going to be moving their speaker placement frequently. You are loosing fidelity to wireless compression so you can loose a single RCA cable. However is this a good value turntable that is easy to use. There is the option of pairing with Bluetooth earbuds or headphones which is intriguing for me!
A very cheap turntable but with unexpected wonderful sound! Congratulations to Audio technica! ( P.s. I have an experience with analogue sound more or less 30 years! )
I just picked this one up today. I've hooked this up (sacrelige to some people) to my JBL boombox, and it makes even the mids, lows and vocals sound absolutley incredible. This turntable is fantastic.
An AT-LP60 with a Bluetooth Transmitter built in. The LP60 and other clones (RCA/Optimus (Radio Shack), Pioneer, Denon, Marantz) are a good turntable *for their price*. You could always hookup an external Bluetooth transmitter to a non-Bluetooth unit. The next decent step up is really your U-Turns and Pro-Jects - addressing plasticy, fixed cartridge and effectively fixed tracking weight (3.5g). The AT3600L conical stylus (the one included) along with the somewhat heavy tracking is actually quite forgiving on worn records and therefore a positive. I wouldn't bother upgrading to an eliptical stylus, at this tracking weight, it'd likely be too revealing and rip up your records quicker. The built-in phonostage is actually a big win at this price.
I started this as a hobby recently, started collecting my favorite albums, I don’t know much about setting audio systems with wires and amps and stuff, so I decided to go with this Bluetooth version, easy set up, easy Bluetooth pairing, didn’t want to buy anything expensive, but nothing cheap (speaking in turntable terms), not much maintenance but I think it’s time I change the needle for the first time, perfect choice for me, will probably upgrade and invest more money in another turntable but for now I can just collect records, bass is kinda low but I have a bass booster option on my speaker, and it sounds just perfect to me, I even started to listen to music out of my favorite genres, the community is great, perfect choice for a more modern person, or someone wanting to get into collecting vinyls, would recommend this table
Your post tells me that you don't need to upgrade your turntable, you need to upgrade your speakers. Preferably to normal POWERED speakers - not bluetooth. Also, while its true you cannot upgrade your cart on this TT, you CAN upgrade the stylus to an elliptical which can drastically increase the sound quality because it gets deeper into those record grooves and delivers more detail.
Lol my girl got me a Crosley for Christmas also. I returned it the next day and went and got this. It’s amazing, do it. I can’t be happier. I spend a little extra and got nice speakers.
I'm looking to get into vinyl, I'm not exactly sure what I need for the whole setup. This one seems good to me but what other things do I need? I know I need some speakers, but what speakers are cheap and work well enough? Thanks!
Speakers that are good entry level ones are Edifir active speakers. You can get them for under 150 dollars on Amazon. Another great way to find audio equipment is by shopping at thrift stores, you can find a majority of the components (including speakers) for under 150, the brands can vary but good ones that are often at goodwill are Technics, Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood etc. Hope this helps!. P.s. you can find the list of different components you may want or not for a traditional stereo system set up online, some things can be left out if you dont want them like CD players and Cassette decks :)
I’m ordering this now, my cheap vinyl player really just sounds awful and I love the idea of being to use this with headphones late at night or speakers without all the wires. What would you recommend for a good pair of Bluetooth speakers? Thanks and I love the video. You sold me on this!
I've used everything from studio level all tube app + monitors in a Nashville studio to a cheap car audio cassette player to get a mix right. People listen to a wide range of audio gear. The trick is to get a mix that sounds good on all systems. Thanks for the audio details, this really help me decide what range of bluetooth turntable I wanted to invest in. The LP60XBT is a solid unit, decent audio quality at a good price. A major upgrade from cheaper units, it is worth the additional cost. This should be good enough for the casual listener and does not require additional investment in a stereo amplifier and wired speakers. Let's face it, a lot of younger folks will have only bluetooth equipment. This turntable will open the door for these folks to enjoy the tactile experience of a vinyl LP. For me, now I can listen to my LP's in my office while I work. A big plus!
I have the AT-LP60XBT set up in my office, running it through a Samsung TV sound bar and sub. Sounds very nice, good detail. Bluetooth pairing is easy and reliable. Auto function is convenient. Overall, I would recommend this turntable for non-audiophiles. Got it on sale, which is even better. Thanks for the review.
I have this, and it sounds amazing for the price. And I still think the sound quality will still depend more on speakers than the player in cases like this. For reference I tried my friends fluence 81, which he hooked up to cheaper speakers, my lp60 with better speakers sounded far better.
I just got this record player, and it sounds exquisite havng it hooked up via male to male headhpone jack to a PanasonicSA-AK240, an obsucre unit, and it sounds utterly amazing! The panasonic has some EQ presets bulit in, so you can manipulate the sound some. I like that it has a choice between 7 inch singels or standard 12 inch recrods. I was able to play a cool single I had of the moon landing, a promo by NASA. I found an old recrod of my dads, lute rendition of my favorite music of all time, Bach's suite in G Major. What a beautiful treaure to find :)
I have this turntable, been using it for 6+ months. It *could* use just a smidge more tracking force (it's a bit more prone to skipping than my others), but it sounds AMAZING. My only problem really is no power on/off button. I HATE having to unplug it, but I have several Bluetooth devices in the house, and it always, ALWAYS, connects to *something*. Even devices it's not paired with. I don't like leaving things "on" that I'm not using. 🤷
I'm of the opinion that who cares what you play your vinyl on, just enjoy the music. If "gimmicky" tables like this bring more people into the hobby thats great.
Thanks for this. I just retrieved all my vinyl from my parents’ house, and am now building a new set up. Bought this, and have hooked it up to a BOSE Soundlink for now, which sounds good, but I will add amp/cd player/speakers when funds permit. Great review.
I don’t know many people that throw their turntables around like a frisbee. It’s built to suit a price point. The quality of the 3600L cartridge may be good enough for many to be satisfied with it. And if someone insists on “swapping”, there are even elliptical stylus options. Bluetooth does not appeal to me. It’s two wires, three at the most if grounding is used. They are tossing Bluetooth into everything simply to appeal to certain demographics. These machines are fine for what they are. I recognize that some purchase higher end turntables for bragging rights. I buy them to listen to music. I have higher end machines, and lower ones. But these are great. I hope AT sells similar machines for decades to come.
I think it's a great way to give more people a starting point that isn't a crosley, because as you said it has the cable option so further down the line they can decide to start investing more into it. Kind of makes me wish there were more dual option items such as this that make great entry points, but still can deliver quality.
Hi, having watched this review I bought this turntable and I have been pleased with my experience. Your review was informative and fair. The turntable has re-introduced me to my record collection from the 80’s. I paired with a Bose Solo 5 soundbar and it’s great. Thanks for the review, cheers.
Very nice video. I think I could recommend this to my nephew who is new to vinyl and might enjoy the wireless experience better. For me the ritual of the vinyl experience is everything.
Great video, great review! I bought that during pandemic period for 189 euros in Athens Greece to replace my old NAD 5120. AT-60LPXBT really was a very pleasant surprise! Very easy to set up and use. In few words a great performer for the price! 😊
With the proliferation of BT headphones especially, yup, BT absolutely has a future in vinyl. Perhaps not as the only connection method - but it has a place.
Thanks to your review I bought this turntable. I am very happy with it. I hooked it up to my stereo system and it sounds fantastic playing through my Bose speakers. Thanks for sharing your review. It helped me with my purchase.
Just got into Vinyl as a hobby. Picked this up in red and it paired immediately with my Sony STR-DH 790 receiver and it sounds fantastic with our Sony home theater speakers. I'm super tight in space so it sits on a table in the corner. Picked up an acrylic mat and couldn't be more pleased. I'm sure at some point I'll upgrade the table but for now I'll just spend my money on records 👌🏼. Great video Andrew. Picked this up because of this video. Thank you 🙏🏼
Heck, play it until you can't play it anymore. Keep in mind, the higher you move up in the TT chain, the more knobs and adjustments you have to make (antiskate, tracking weights) and the less automatic they are. If you like how the needle comes back home after playing the record, the less you'll like fully manual turntables where you need to get up and take the needle off the record yourself. To many, that's no big deal, we're used to it. Just know what you'd be getting yourself into.
I have the old model plugged directly into a Art DJpre2 then over to a pair of Sennheiser wireless UHF cans and it's freaking awesome! I can walk all over the house enjoying my vinyl :)
I'm definitely going to pick this turntable table up and connect them to Yu6 speakers. I have been wanting to get back into vinyl but have been put off by some of the audiophile community and media channels. I used to love my vinyl collection back in the 80s and want to dive back in with little fuss.
audio technica is pretty great stuff, great quality for lower prices, i tried some of their headphones, even the cheapest ones sounded better than Beats lol
I actually agree. Even though I wouldn’t use Bluetooth myself on a record player. Feels like I would be taking away something from the experience. I do want to try the LP60, just to see what it sounds like.. 😀
Love this channel. Andrew reviews equipment fit for both a Prince or a pauper - and does so with such finesse. He makes a $150 turntable sound world class. Now THAT is a talent.
I love his videos. He seems like a super cool dude honestly! I love it because I’m a college student so I don’t have the money for anything more than what I got, so I’m glad he appreciates even the budget entry level turntables for what they are, as I feel he could easily be spoiled with what he has listened to prior and say that’s it crap and etc.
I'm a big Audio Technica fan. When I was looking in to a new turntable to replace my 15 odd year old turntable I nearly bought the previous version of the LP60. I liked the simplicity of it but in the end I dug deeper into my pockets and went with an LP120 that (despite small gripes) I absolutely love.
I have a higher grade table, but this is perfect as an entry level turntable for beginners. Pair this up with a set of $99 Edifier 1280T speakers, and you have all you need to get your feet wet with vinyl. $200 for a respectable setup is pretty damn good. (Note: I don't personally do bluetooth so I would go with the toothless model.)
Hey @thievius333 can you give me a link that leads to the toothless model of the Turntable I’ve been wanting to get into it and if you did this I’d greatly appreciate it
It depends on the output & you can't just connect anything. There was zero instructions apart from Amazon Technica video. If you have speakers that are high wattage than the deck output then it will struggle but if you have a tuner amp then once again wattage compatibility matters .
You can connect it to ANY powered speakers, in other words - any speaker that has its own power source, volume control, etc. I recommend Edifier 1280T's.
Great in-depth video. I was contemplating on buying this model but ended up buying the AT- LP60X for my 9 year old daughter. I didn't think it would sound as good as a wired system. Good to know, thanks again for your informative videos.
I'm not a high end, vinyl-playing audiophile like that. I'm somebody who hasn't bought a new vinyl record since I was barely out of my teens, shortly after my first CD player. I just got this for Christmas. I love how easy it is to use. It is sold at Walmart as the "AT-LPGO-BT." I have not had the chance to try the Bluetooth function. Anyway, vinyl is cool, again. And I skipped the Crosley, suitcase el-cheapo! P.S. I did hear someone play the Beatles hit, "All My Loving," on vinyl (on UA-cam). I can hear the distinct vocals when Paul's voice was double-tracked on the final refrain, "Close your eyes and I'll kiss you. Tomorrow I'll miss you..." with a certain "buzz" that is lost when I hear that same track on CD. It seems that when that material is digitized, it gets too sanitized. That cannot just be my imagination!
When you pair with a speaker, does it have memory? I.e. if I have bluetooth headphones and bluetooth speakers, do I have to pair each time I want to switch between them? Looking for the manual now so probably the answer is in there but thought I'd ask! Lol
Nevermind :) found it... just got it as my first turntable and got to say, I love it... even more now! The answer from the manual: About pairing When connecting a new Bluetooth receiver device, you need to pair it with the product. Once the Bluetooth receiver device and the product are paired, you do not need to pair them again. However, in the following cases you will need to pair again even if the Bluetooth receiver device was paired once: • If the product is deleted from the Bluetooth receiver device’s connection history. • If the product is sent out for repair. • If 9 or more devices are paired. (The product can save the pairing information of up to 8 devices. When you pair with a new device after pairing with 8 devices, pairing information for the device with the oldest connection date will be overwritten by the information for the new device.)
Harsh truth time for the purists... most music put out on vinyl today is digital somewhere along the path to the pressing anyway. Bottom line: is someone using this table w/ BT 1) owning the copy of the music? 2) selecting the album off a shelf? 3) taking the record out of its jacket and sleeve and placing it on the turntable? 4) getting to enjoy the large cover art and liner notes? 5) committing to entire sides of listening at a time? Well then, they are getting 95% of the same experience of vinyl as the audiophiles. More than enough to validate their experience... not that they need my or anyone else’s validation. Great, honest, fair review Andrew.
i have this exact turntable bought from Amazon I have used the bluetooth but I have it hooked up to A pair of wharfdale diamond speakers via a Cambridge Audio amplifier the Sound Quality is very good and detaled especially vocals However the quality of the sound was improved dramatically by using good quality Gale Electronics Bi Wire speaker cable combined with a decent amp and speakers and cable this turntable produces amazing sound and is excellent value for money
I know someone who has one and shes very pleased with it, shes not into counterweights and all the setup jazz so this plug and play rig is great for her needs. I would like to take one and add some dynamat sound mat in the bottom to kill some resonance and add the LPGear elliptical stylus upgrade and see the results, im guessing it would be very acceptable
I got this table (factory reconditioned) on Ebay for $119 as a holiday present to myself. I wanted it because I have a decent pair of JVC Bluetooth headphones that I wanted to hear my vinyl on. It was amazingly easy to set up and works like a charm. Couldn't be happier!
Thanks for this review. I’ve been looking at getting one for my husband as a surprise and had no idea where to begin, but this seems like a great start into the world of vinyl.
I'm also here researching to get a turntable for my husband as a surprise gift LOL I ended up purchasing this one. If you haven't pulled the trigger on buying one yet there are other reviewers of this specific turntable and they have links to the product on amazon ended up saving myself 20$ Instead of 99$ i paid 79$
Well I bought this very one a day later and my husband was super happy with it, unknown to me he had been looking at the very same one himself. He has hooked it up to his M Audio speakers, so the Bluetooth function is a bit invalid, but it Does everything we need. If your thinking of buying this model I’d say go for it!
@@Jellywife Nice! My husband was also happy with it. (He opened the gift and was like oh wow how much did you spend?! He thought it was way more expensive than it was) I was originally looking at the Marley table because it is very pleasing to look at but I think the auto-technica is a great entry-level turntable and at a truly unbeatable price. We have ours connected through his computer speaker system currently, which is a pretty good system but we want that amazing quality sound that comes with listening to vinyl so that will be our next upgrade. I'm super happy I decided to go with it. The gift was for him but i can already feel the vinyl addiction growing in ME haha
Some upgrade styli (needle) upgrades are supposedly quite good. LP Gear stylus is getting rave reviews on this turntable. I will be getting it in the near future.
I'm not sure if you will know the answer but does having a smaller speakers (like a small bluetooth speaker) mean less quality in the sound, thanks for an amazing easy to understand review.
Generally bigger speakers from major brands are better but some smaller speakers can pack a punch! I would highly recommend checking out video reviews of different speakers you are looking at buying and or testing them out in person if you have the chance! Hope this helps :)
I think that bluetooth is convenient to begin, and the wire connection is the first upgrade. So I see bluetooth as the entry door and the bridge to analog, not so much the future....
@@yologameok6292 I got the Bluetooth version and love it. Completely worth it. You can still use a wired connection too for better sound if you get the right kind of speakers. Or w/ Bluetooth you can move the speakers around if you want to. I got the Edifier R1700BT wood grain speakers for mine and they are amazing too for the price.
I just got this machine…on back order…can’t wait to start listening. Was a Christmas present and this review has been a huge sigh of relief that we bought the right machine for where we are. Got a basic Bluetooth speaker setup which might be the first and only upgrade sometime in the future.
Most masters are digital anyway. The problem is that bluthoot does not have enough bandwith to pass a full quality audio signal and often introduce glitches.
I just got one and I’m finding it’s not great for death metal. Absolutely spot on about the base and the mid range. I’m going to sit with it a few more days And see if I come around to it.
Thank you for this, I got one based off this review. I have the version without bluetooth, using my favorite Yamaha speakers instead. I've always wanted to, and have just started getting into the world of vinyl and your review gave me a great starting point.
This turntable comes with a conical stylus out of the box, and while you can't upgrade the cartridge, there is an elliptical stylus that you can replace the conical one with.
What turntable would you guys recommend for $150 dollars? I'm a fan of wires and cables, so having a Bluetooth functionality that I would never use it's kind of.. counterintuitive I would prefer to trade bluetooth for a better sound/higher material quality but I'm not sure where to look for
Is it worth buying this player and using Marshall Woburn (gen 1) speakers with it? Specifically, would the difference in sound quality between Spotify-streaming and this player with a wired connection to the speakers be substantial?
as for the cartridge you are right you can't change it but this has a conical stylus on lp gear they have a eliptical stylus with a carbon fiber cantelever that they have for this cartridge which will greatly improve sound and it is not expensive
Good review thanks just bought one today in white for my wife's birthday hope to have it Friday and get it set up so this review was perfect timing greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪👍
I'm planning on buying my first turntable and I have a budget of 400-600$ because I want to get a player that can produce a nice full sound. This one seems really nice but I'm worried that the sound isn't as good as the ones in the range of 400-600$. Can you perhaps improve the sound of this one by getting better cables or other hardware? Or should I try to invest in a different one? My goal is to use cables with my speakers but with the ability to use my wireless headset when the kids are asleep. :)
{N} - The Audio Technica is limiting in terms of upgradability so with your budget in mind, this is the one I would go with since you require bluetooth - amzn.to/3b3axVm - if you're pleased with the sound, you can stop there. Know that you'll be able to upgrade the cartridge and when/if you want to do so and we recommend these bit.ly/2RedAA & bit.ly/BlueAA
Hi Andrew, first of all congrats on the high-quality content of the channel, I have been looking all through UA-cam for content like this and your channel definetely stands out! I am planning on acquiring my first turntable and I have a question regarding speakers. Unfortunately my current budget won't allow me to buy any speakers along with the turntable (likely the AT-LP60X as it seems to be the best entry-level option) so I was wondering if it is a bad idea to consider listening to the vinyls using a portable speaker (the one I already own is a Sony SRS XB20). I understand it is far from ideal but I am concerned the result will ruin the whole experience. Thanks!!
I just bought the non bluetooth version for around 100$. I think bluetooth is pointless on vinyl, but if there are some folks who want it, be my guest.
I have myself the simple LX310 which I keep connected to 2 bose soundlinks in the living room and the sound is really immersive. Bluetooth is amazing if you’re going to have surround speakers connected around the house. Though I will say in terms of quality nothing will beat the carbon evo, its still my favourite. I suggest you keep it in mind if you ever decide to upgrade. It may be a bit costly but its worth every penny.
This is blasphemous! Only true analog loving intellectuals like myself, who listen to rag time on hand crank phonographs, can call themselves audiophiles. Electricity spelled the death of quality sound *PERIOD*
I think I am going to get this turntable. I am currently using the 30 year old audio setup my mom and dad had before and it worked great but the turntable gave up (it was a Dual CS 505-3). I already have the ATH-SR50BT wireless headphone from Audiotechnica so I hope this will work great witht the audio system and headphones. Thanks for the great review!

May you do a review on the newest Sony Bluetooth turntable please.
Then it depends on which Bluetooth codec you use or which the turntable supports. the two best are considered to be LDAC and aptix HD
The Alva TT is the turntable to offer aptX HD Bluetooth support

Watch at 1.25 speed. I highly recommend it.

Got this turntable today and I couldn’t be happier. I’m using Bluetooth because I have no space for dedicated speakers but have a Bluetooth enabled soundbar with subwoofer. Had a lot of fun playing and listening to my small record collection this afternoon!
The he only bad part of this review is hearing $150 when it has crept up to $220. Got to love inflation. 😢
@@ItspronouncedAaron The bluetooth AT-LP60XBT is $220. But the normal version without Bluetooth (AT-LP60X) costs $150.
i got it for $150 last year for black friday sale !!
I own one. Very, very pleased. I don't use the Bluetooth and have it wired directly to my integrated amplifier. The turntable has amazing sound... soundstage, details, highs are very, very good. I would highly recommend this turntable for the beginner.
Mah nigga. Bt is the devil unless headphones far away.
Thanks!
Thanks for watching and I'm happy to hear you're pleased with your purchase!
Can you please share the link to your Bluetooth speaker?💓
After seeing this review, I think I'm gonna get this turntable for my first one. This looks like the perfect one for me.
That's great!
I’ve had this for over a year and for the price it’s excellent. 👍
What are you using for speakers? This is on sale right now for Prime Day and I already have a Sonos system and I can work this in using the Roam and BT. Seems like any other methods will cost a substantial amount more. Do you still get the crackles and "record sounds" over BT?
Thank you! I've been eyeing this turntable for a while now.
That beginning was priceless! 😂
Thank you!
yeah priceless, as in ... not worth anything

I'd rather listen to this connected via bluetooth than a crosley, victrola, etc. via anything
@SamuelMayranf Do you have this turntable
Exactly it’s a great record player I bought mine when I used to work at target
I have this exact record player
and I absolutely love the versatility of it. I prefer a wired connection when listening to records through speakers. And I enjoy listening to records with wireless headphones. I can't sit still whenever I listen to a record. This has given me the freedom to move around to dance and sing along. Overall, this is definitely the best value on the market right now.
Can it still connect with wires?
Alonzo Lopez Yup! It has a 3.5 mm auxiliary port in the back with a built on preamp
@@ChrisAcosta29 great! Just bought one from Best buy. I'm really happy because I don't have the right wired speakers yet,but I do have a good ain't Bluetooth setup. However, I'm more into using my HD 58x headphones on it
Alonzo Lopez awesome you’ll love it. It’s extremely versatile.
So is it true that you can’t change cartridge and only the needle? I’d love to get an Ortofon for it
If unable to change cartridge, is it a decent cartridge at least?
You just helped me on this purchase. Thanks a million!!!
( P.s. I have an experience with analogue sound more or less 30 years! )
Any good recommendations on other gods record players I’m just getting into records recently and looking for something affordable
I just picked this one up today. I've hooked this up (sacrelige to some people) to my JBL boombox, and it makes even the mids, lows and vocals sound absolutley incredible. This turntable is fantastic.
Hey bro. I have the same JBL. I have a question. Can you pair 2 or more Jbl speakers with connect+ using the Turntable?
@@Dervin9612 perhaps but I don’t know why you’d need to
Nice. So it does sound differently than listening to Spotify ? I’m really interested in one
I jumped into vinyl when I got (not by choice) a Crosley Cruiser for Christmas. I’m getting this table because I want to do it right.
Lol my girl got me a Crosley for Christmas also. I returned it the next day and went and got this. It’s amazing, do it. I can’t be happier. I spend a little extra and got nice speakers.
Jerry Agazarian i did as well! i think i like vinyl
Same thing happened to me. Idk what to do with that crosley now tho.
Deavon Swan John My sister has a Crosley suitcase record player but I'm gonna save up to buy her an Audio Technica
same thing happened to me but I’m selling my crosley to buy new records right after i get this atlp60xbt lol
You can connect to your main system with line wires. But use the Bluetooth connection to your outdoor Bluetooth speaker. Listen to your vinyl outside.
I bought mine last month and saw the title of this video today and in my mind i said "UH OH... Was this a bad choice??!?!?" Nope! Glad i bought mine
I have not seen a so called audiophile blind test a Bluetooth and a wired speaker yet, please do so someday
Great review. Just purchased one of these and can't wait to start using it
Same!
In the UK all power outputs have a switch. 😎
Is it better purchase than Sony ps-lx310BT?
I just got one. I definitely recommend it!
it's almost like your afraid to say it's good lmao 😂
I'm of the opinion that who cares what you play your vinyl on, just enjoy the music. If "gimmicky" tables like this bring more people into the hobby thats great.
I agree, though I don’t view the AT to be a gimmick, but rather a solution many new or next gen enthusiasts are wanting.
Thanks for this. I just retrieved all my vinyl from my parents’ house, and am now building a new set up. Bought this, and have hooked it up to a BOSE Soundlink for now, which sounds good, but I will add amp/cd player/speakers when funds permit.
Great review.
Awesome! Its great that people are pulling out their old LPs and playing them again:)
This review was the reason I bought one.I love it. Thank You so much.
Very nice video. I think I could recommend this to my nephew who is new to vinyl and might enjoy the wireless experience better. For me the ritual of the vinyl experience is everything.
Like I said, it's a great starter table! Thanks for watching!
Great for owners of vinyl but have no player anymore. I will be buying one.
The LP120 is a superior product in virtually every regard. I cannot blame you for digging deep and going for gusto.
I agree and you can also get it for quite a bit cheaper without the Bluetooth option (I believe mine was about $100)!
@@robertsonkev I’m a year late I know but can you give me a link for the technica without the Bluetooth please?
Hey @thievius333 can you give me a link that leads to the toothless model of the Turntable I’ve been wanting to get into it and if you did this I’d greatly appreciate it
If you own this turntable, what kind of speakers do you use for this???? Affordable speakers please
I think you can use any ones
It depends on the output & you can't just connect anything. There was zero instructions apart from Amazon Technica video. If you have speakers that are high wattage than the deck output then it will struggle but if you have a tuner amp then once again wattage compatibility matters .
Mine uses a Sony receiver with a phono output, and I use Pioneer speakers.
There are different releases of the Beatles. of course British release but also from MOFI = Mobile Fidelity
The answer from the manual:
About pairing
When connecting a new Bluetooth receiver device, you need to
pair it with the product. Once the Bluetooth receiver device and
the product are paired, you do not need to pair them again.
However, in the following cases you will need to pair again
even if the Bluetooth receiver device was paired once:
• If the product is deleted from the Bluetooth receiver device’s
connection history.
• If the product is sent out for repair.
• If 9 or more devices are paired.
(The product can save the pairing information of up to 8
devices. When you pair with a new device after pairing with
8 devices, pairing information for the device with the oldest
connection date will be overwritten by the information for the
new device.)
@@intoxicatedpartdeux thanks for letting us know. Planning on using my headphones for it
Harsh truth time for the purists... most music put out on vinyl today is digital somewhere along the path to the pressing anyway.
Thank you so much!
i have this exact turntable bought from Amazon I have used the bluetooth but I have it hooked up to A pair of wharfdale diamond speakers via a Cambridge Audio amplifier the Sound Quality is very good and detaled especially vocals However the quality of the sound was improved dramatically by using good quality Gale Electronics Bi Wire speaker cable combined with a decent amp and speakers and cable this turntable produces amazing sound and is excellent value for money
I have the original LP60 but I’m thinking about getting the Lp60xbt version one day because I love the fact that it’s Bluetooth and wireless

As an update, I spent $19 on an acrylic mat to replace the foam mat provided, and the bass response sounded much more balanced.
Thanks for this review. I’ve been looking at getting one for my husband as a surprise and had no idea where to begin, but this seems like a great start into the world of vinyl.
If you're not going to tinker or become fussy with vinyl, then yes, but if you want some expandability down the road, I may recommend another table.
You stumbled upon the right one!
Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT VS Sony PS-LX310bt? Love your videos!
You sir have just sold me 100 percent on this turntable. Thank you for your excellent review. I will totally subscribe for more amazing reviews :)

I just got this machine…on back order…can’t wait to start listening. Was a Christmas present and this review has been a huge sigh of relief that we bought the right machine for where we are. Got a basic Bluetooth speaker setup which might be the first and only upgrade sometime in the future.
is this turntable able to connect to two bluetooth devices at once?
Most masters are digital anyway. The problem is that bluthoot does not have enough bandwith to pass a full quality audio signal and often introduce glitches.
I just got one and I’m finding it’s not great for death metal. Absolutely spot on about the base and the mid range. I’m going to sit with it a few more days And see if I come around to it.
hello! did you come around to it? :3
@@soandysirable I did, not a bad turntable 🤙🏼
Thank you for this, I got one based off this review. I have the version without bluetooth, using my favorite Yamaha speakers instead. I've always wanted to, and have just started getting into the world of vinyl and your review gave me a great starting point.
Thanks for this review. With bluetooth connection, how is possible to equalise the sound such as bass, medium and high pitches?
This turntable comes with a conical stylus out of the box, and while you can't upgrade the cartridge, there is an elliptical stylus that you can replace the conical one with.
Any more info about the stylus replacement, link? Thanks.

I watched this vid like three times. My AT-LP60XBT (red) is in the mail.
This was a long winded review but god damn did he knock it out of the park
Great Video. Can I plug a headphone directly on him without an amp?
What turntable would you guys recommend for $150 dollars?
I'm a fan of wires and cables, so having a Bluetooth functionality that I would never use it's kind of.. counterintuitive
I would prefer to trade bluetooth for a better sound/higher material quality but I'm not sure where to look for
I would recommend the Audio Technica LP60x/AT60x
Dual German brand
That's GREAT! Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.
Ironically, this table is now $200.
Thanks!!
Just wanted to echo my same sentiments!
same here, following
I just bought the non bluetooth version for around 100$. I think bluetooth is pointless on vinyl, but if there are some folks who want it, be my guest.
I have myself the simple LX310 which I keep connected to 2 bose soundlinks in the living room and the sound is really immersive. Bluetooth is amazing if you’re going to have surround speakers connected around the house.
Though I will say in terms of quality nothing will beat the carbon evo, its still my favourite. I suggest you keep it in mind if you ever decide to upgrade. It may be a bit costly but its worth every penny.
Just when I was asking myself, what will they come up with next? You show me. Thanks for another great video Andrew, see you in the next one!
Thanks for coming back for more.
This is blasphemous! Only true analog loving intellectuals like myself, who listen to rag time on hand crank phonographs, can call themselves audiophiles. Electricity spelled the death of quality sound *PERIOD*
okay...
Rag time on hand crank phonographs haha

I think I am going to get this turntable. I am currently using the 30 year old audio setup my mom and dad had before and it worked great but the turntable gave up (it was a Dual CS 505-3). I already have the ATH-SR50BT wireless headphone from Audiotechnica so I hope this will work great witht the audio system and headphones. Thanks for the great review!
