      He's hard not to like.
      And when he talks about the media he sounds like Noam Chomsky or Edward S. Herman. Very bright guy.

    I can't get over how all around well adjusted he is when obviously he didn't have the greatest start in life to begin with and then treated so unfair and in solatairy confinement for all those years and beaten and now gets out and acts more civil than the judges, lawyers and other politicians involved in doing this horrible crime to him.

    This case was very hot and discussed among officers all around WM, I am ashamed to say that many of us felt these boys were NOT guilty of that crime, but were absolutlely helpless to do anything about it.
    I am a retired/disabled officer from a few counties away from WM and it's my hope that those boys live a long, peaceful life and never need or want for anything.

    brilliant interview,Opie Ant and Yimmy are capable of going from the most immature shit to really insightful probing conversations like this
    Damien is great though

    • @johnnonamegibbon3580
      @johnnonamegibbon3580 10 років тому +2

      Yeah, I think that's the best thing about O&A. They know when to stop the goofy shtick when the situation _really_ demands it. That nuance makes them seem more human. Other similar jocks tend to either be too serious or completely incapable of saying anything meaningful.
      On a completely different subject, it seems like Damien married one of those women who go after high profile prisoners. Can't really bash it because she really _did_ save him.

    Were you guilty of the crimes you were charged with? That's why you went to prison. These kids were and guilty ....no two ways about it.

    I've been arrested several times for crimes I never committed. One particular time I was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, I was the only one charged and under state law they could only convict two or more people of conspiracy, not one person by himself. Thank god I was never convicted of a crime and I would say a conservative estimate of innocent people in prison is about 5 percent and people who are arrested only to be cleared later on is up to 30 percent or so

    I like Howard Stern, but there are many guests that have such fascinating lives that asking questions about their personal sex lives just gets boring. I enjoy O&A interviews better, because they have edgy challenging questions and not everything is sex related.

    For whatever it's worth, I'd like to answer your question even though it's been over 8 months since you typed it out. And my answer is this.....perhaps Damien Echols really could get 'sue-happy' against those guards who were abusive, and might end up filthy rich because of it. But on the other hand, I bet the last place he would ever want to set foot in is a court room (let alone a prison cell). And besides, the life he has been given back NOW must be overwhelming enough. What about FREEDOM?????

    The West Memphis 3 or atleast Damien seem guilty as fuck to me. If you bother looking into the guy's history (before the murders) he was obviously a deeply disturbed individual. It's not about Satanism or being a "weird kid", he did some pretty psychotic shit.

    they found the knife behind the one guy's house and it was missing a piece on the bottom that had a design similar to one of the kids injuries on his forehead; they thought it was a bite mark, but it was the imprint of the bottom of the handle. ona fuckin' lame on this one
