First let me say - You Girls Rock! Clearly this is one EPIC hike that is certainly out of my skill level, so the only way to see it is vicariously through you. Loved the Wild Flowers, WA is famous for them. Music was well chosen and on point. Photography, Videography, Editing was great, as always. Thank you so much Kate and Ellen. 🤩😍
Great story, thanks for taking time to share. Did this hike on Anzac weekend 2022 (that last arrow section is an eye opener!). I have a lot of hike/outdoor experience and I still found this the most challenging trail I have ever walked. but the experience is one of my life's highlights. Hopefully this trail wont get loved to death like so many once word gets out.
Thanks. It was early to mid November 2023. Yes it was really challenging trail that’s for sure. I’d hate to be up there in bad weather (hot or cold) and navigating under time pressure would be a nightmare. I loved doing it over 3 days. Yes it’s such a special spot. We hikers, who live outdoors should be the loudest and proudest conservationists. Sadly this sometimes isn’t the case. Happy hiking to you.
Well done and an epic. The Stirlings are a favourite of mine. To see that end of the range up close is something I've not done. I fly passengers to Bluff Knoll in a glider once or twice a year and is also an awesome experience. When the wind is from the North, I'll stretch it to Ellen's Peak. We take off from the Stirling Range Retreat airfield (opposite the road up to the car park) which takes all of 30 minutes to get to Ellen's and back. Cheers...
Wonderful thank you Kate. It took me back some years to when I was high on one of the peaks, freezing, and it did start to snow. Just flurries but enough to say I have been snowed on in WA.
Yay, you made it Kate! Well done to you both! I named my gallery after Ellen Peak; I could see it from my house. I also made a snowman on-top of Bluff Knoll one year with my kids. The Stirlings still remains one of my fav places in WA. I've actually just returned from hiking in Kossy. Amazing place!. Thank you xo
I'm a local photographer and I've hiked that mountain a number of times and also carried my camera gear all the way to the top. It's an amazing walk and views.
Halfway through watching (I gotta work but will finish) - you are amazing! I am a new hiker, did my first low key scrambling yesterday. I think this is TOTALLY EPIC (and no intention to attempt something like this as yet lol) - love your videos!
Amazing thanks for the message. Congratulations on getting into hiking. Hope you love it. Build your skills slowly and never stop learning. Happy hiking
Wow Kate. This is an amazing adventure you both had. The scrambling seemed pretty full on but an incredible traverse. Reminded me in parts of Tassies Western Arthur's and Victoria's Grampians. What a stunning walk.
Great video Kate, looks like you had some fun with the weather. I made the same navigational embarrassment coming off First Arrow. So easy to keep on walking towards the edge of the cliff.
I'm a WA bloke in my early 70s and have been asked to do this hike a number or times. Not while my bum points groundwards would I attempt this. Well done you. Very entertaining thank you.
Wow, what an epic trip. That’s certainly one for the bucket list. Well done as that looked like quite a challenge plus an incredible part of the world.
I enjoyed this one a lot. Bucket list stuff. Amazing scenery and scrambling. The 'sharing a tent with someone I'm not sleeping with' bit made me laugh. Funny how that old school weight saving measure - sharing gear - seems to have fallen by the way in the ultralight revolution.
Yes I was a little nervous myself. It’s always hard to judge how hard a hike will be. The most difficult part was the water carry and a few navigation points.
Sterling effort Kate! 😀 I don't know how your hat didn't blow away. Beautiful wildflowers. Have you plans to do the other Stirling peaks? And the Bibbulmun track? 👣
Thanks mate. We were just re watching this on the weekend with some friends and we had a giggle about how hard I had my hat jammed on my head. I’d love to do more there and the bib. Just gotta find time WA is amazing for hiking
@@KateGrarock yeah I think your hat was defying some laws of nature or something! 😀 W.A is an incredibly beautiful and diverse state hey. Look forward to seeing your next adventure and hope you make it back to W.A soon 😊
I have 2x GoPro 11 one with media mod and rode wireless pro mic. It’s been working well. And iPhone 14 Pro Max with gymbal for some smooth pannos. Thanks for watching
Great video, thank you for sharing your experience exploring an obscure corner of the land I've never heard of
Mate thanks a bunch for the kind words and generous support. It means a lot. Hope you are doing well and gearing up for watching Alone season 2
This made my day! Thanks for sharing your adventure Kate!
Thanks. Your comment made my day 😀

Thanks a lot. It was so hard but so good.
Wonderful thank you Kate. It took me back some years to when I was high on one of the peaks, freezing, and it did start to snow. Just flurries but enough to say I have been snowed on in WA.
Oh that’s epic. Thanks for sharing. I absolutely understand how it can stow there. It’s brutal that wind. What a magnificent place
This is fantastic, I did this walk about 10 years ago and lost most of my photos so great to see it in video. Brought back good memories.
So wonderful to hear. It’s an incredible place

Thanks. Yeah totally it really twists and turns. So wild when you can see the track but don’t know how to link up with it.

Hahaha thanks mate. Yeah it’s a challenging hike that’s for sure. I think the weather plays a massive role too. We got very lucky.
You're welcome. You should do the Cape to Cape in WA fir relaxation
@@michaelmcphee2930 I did that a couple of years back it was amazing. So many great hikes in WA

Kate Hikes! My name is Nate Higers, nice video!
Cheers mate.

Hahaha totally. We almost didn’t share but wasn’t too bad. Thanks
Looks like you did stay friends by the end of the trip, so can't have been too bad😅
Great hike, guys! Was a pleasure getting to meet you 😊
Thanks Malcom it was so fun. We never stopped talking over three days. Was funny trying to edit it and reliving all the banter.
Awesome adventure! What time of the year did you do this hike?
November. We were very lucky with the weather
cool video! love that area as well, I really want to do this hike too
Thanks mate. It’s so amazing. Hope you get there with good weather. Happy hiking
…was that two days 1 night? The opening scene said you had planned for three.?
Happy trails
It was 2 nights 3 days. Was a good amount of time.
This is way beyond me, but i'd like to try this trail out eventually.

Yeah pretty crazy hey. But hiking is my passion so made the commitment
What GoPro you using ? and I don’t hear any wind noise so good … looks pretty awesome hike 👍🏿

Thanks mate. Yeah it's a bit of a corker that's for sure. Happy hiking to you
Thanks for taking the time to film such a beautiful place. Let's hope the name is changed one day.
Thanks a lot. Yes would be lovely to see
What time of year did you go?
November. Was lucky with the temps not being too hot.
@@KateGrarock cheers mate.
Thanks for sharing Kate. This one has been on my list for a while, but last time I was there it was over 30c so we just decided to hit single peaks.
Where did you guys poop?
We followed minimal impact guidelines and dug a hole and buried it.
