    I lost some of the little screws holding the leather in place on my Kaya Soul tab too. Although it wasn't falling off it annoyed me so I measured on of the remaining screws with a caliper (they were M3 thread) and bought a big bag of M3 x 3mm countersunk hex head screws from Ebay. They were a perfect match. I also took the step of using medium (blue) Loctite threadlock on all the screws to stop them coming loose all the time, and found that well worth doing.

    I had a SF tab previously, and it had also that hook for pinky finger. I found out that after I got tired, I started to torque the tab with my pinky finger, and that had some adverse effects to my score. Taking the hook off didn't have any negative effects, so for me the pinky hook just either didn't have any positive effects or did have negative effects.

    Nu Sensei, hello, would this be a tab, that you prefer over the other's you used before? I 'm looking at tab's, and trying to decide, which would be best. Thank you, sharing this video, by the way!!! Your style in creating these video's, is really great.

    The Saker 1 is the first tab I ever bought. It was a relief from the ones I can use at my archery range because of the fat finger spacer. However, I did eventually return to the house tabs. I don't know if all large size Saker 1's are like this, but the leather was just too thick that I lost the feel of control and holding onto the string because significantly harder. I had to do away with the pinky hook because my ring finger and pinky finger don't move independently of one another. I did end up losing a screw which I remedied with some super glue. Compared to the other tabs with an "ergonomic" design, the part that goes into the middle of my palm was just too pointy and stabbed me a bit. My wife's M-sized Saker one has a leather that is significantly thinner than mine. I've thought about trying the other Saker models, but I don't want to risk getting the same overly thick leather. Can anyone recommend a tab in the same price range that takes you finger length into consideration in their sizes?

      +Jaime Escalante . . . It is good to have ``customisation``, yes ??? Every Hand feels "comfort" in a relative kind of way.
      What matters, is not deviating wildly into extrememe "bad form" . . .

    Hi, good review and likewise your other vids are informative too. My daughter who is 7 1/2 yrs old is an avid beginner archer and I am looking for a better finger protector for her. We purchased a glove style protector however she found loading the bow hard. I am thinking a tab might be better in that she would be able to load the bow and also have adequate protection. Would you recommend this or a different tab for a young beginner archer child?

    Make sure to rescrew the small screws that hold the two leather layers on the plate with loctite. They can come loose and there are no replacement parts in the saker fingertab box. I really like the fivics saker 1!

    Interesting video. Keep up the good work. I am new to Archery and was taught that the ledge should rest under your jaw. I see that you rest your thumb on the ledge. What is the advantage of your method?

    • @NUSensei
      @NUSensei  7 років тому

      Having a high ledge gives a solid, immovable reference point, but it can feel unnatural and uncomfortable. The thumb is a bit more natural - this is how shooters anchor without a ledge. Having a low ledge gives the thumb a place to rest so that it doesn't move lower than it should, while also giving you a natural feel for the anchor.

    Quick question, do you trim the tab to fit your hand shape better, or are you using it as it came?

    Do you know which Fivics tab Hyejin Chang used in Rio? It looked like the saker 2, but couldnt get a very good view of it~

  • @Conundrum191
    @Conundrum191 4 роки тому

    Nu, not sure if you will see this on an old video, but is that rest really for your thumb? I always thought it was, but when I was in a pro shop getting equipment they said you are supposed to put your thumb under it/curled under, and that ledge is really to be placed against your jaw. I found this odd, but they showed others that had it way up high, too high to be used with a thumb, at least for me. Currently using the same tab as in this video, but with the rest/ledge adjusted as far up as it can go, and using it against my jaw, but now I am second guessing that.

    • @NUSensei
      @NUSensei  4 роки тому

      It actually depends your hook style. Some tabs are designed for the thumb to rest on it, but other hook styles and anchor points don't work with this method. I've dropped the rest (and changed my tab) after changing my shot cycle.

    Hi Nu Sensei! Awesome video as always! I have a question I'm hoping you could help me with. I'm a competitive archer and have been using a SF Axon riser from my club for about a year. But I need to buy a new riser soon and am wondering if the Fivics Vellator is a good and affordable choice for training and various competitions for about 10 years? Others from my club has been telling me to get the Hoyt Horizon Pro but I really don't like its appearance and it's also quite expensive.

    • @NUSensei

      It would seem like a good choice. I haven't used it myself, so I can't so for sure.

  • @antoniskatris1011

    Are you trimming the leather between the index and middle finger? The AAE Elite gives you instructions as to how to trim the leather on the packaging but Fivics doesn't seem to do that or at least I didn't notice when I got my Saker 2. However, I have found that removing just a bit of tab leather on both sides gives you much better clearance. Any observations on your side?

    • @NUSensei
      @NUSensei  7 років тому

      I haven't found a need to, but it's not unusual to do so.

    • @wayne2wax
      @wayne2wax 6 років тому

      +Antonis Katris I always do this with my Tab Face. For me, it's a "just-in-case" thing / a confidence thing. But never had trouble . . .

    • @mlugin8050
      @mlugin8050 4 роки тому

      I had to trim the leather in length and between the spacing, it helped a lot. Don‘t cut too much in the beginning. After a while you see some marks on the tab that show you where the string actually touches the leather, that helps you to see how far to cut. Leave some mm‘s extra

    NU, is there a reason to serve up that high on the string? You could get a tiny bit more arrow speed if you didnt.

    • @NUSensei
      @NUSensei  7 років тому

      You don't need to go that high. I've done servings too short in the past, so I err a bit on the longer side.

    • @levib7343
      @levib7343 7 років тому

      What serving do you like to use? I have been experimenting lately because I have problems with my tab sliding up the string and pushing on the arrow. My serving is really silky smooth and has no grip to it.

    • @wayne2wax

      +Levi B I loooove using Angel Majesty Serving. I choose Royal Red and it looks good and grips good.
      Earlier this week, I ordered some BCY PowerGrip just for fun, but it's red is lighter in colour than Angel's Royal Red.
      I am looking forward to experimenting with the feel of PowerGrip . . .

      Earlier this week, I ordered the ``DISCONTINUED`` FIVICS POLITE 3-finger Tab. Only Medium was left available to scoop-up.
      (In SF Archery Elite Plus TAB, I am most definitely a Large, but nill Large size was remining for me; a Left.HANDeD Archer.)
      I just did `your` HAND-SIZE "test" for FIVICS' brand. In "FIVE-VICS" world, Large is way-toooo-large. Medium seems Okay !!
