I tried it out on my local repeater worked well I was receiving a lot stronger. and the swr was around 1.4 but I will still need to tweak it a bit so its a bit broad banded. I'm getting different swr data than from my radio. I am just trying to learn. So learn I will the more I play with things. 73

Hi Mike. I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious here, but why have the other pieces of metal when only one is cut in half and connected to the wire? Are the rods connected somewhere else that I can't see? Maybe you've a link to share on the design? Looks like a nice and easy build (once I know what I'm doing!) :-) Thanks!
It’s kinda a Like a Yagi-Uda antenna. One single driven element with a reflector in the rear and directors in the front. The directors are cut at different, usually shorter lengths. Than the driven element. They are called parasitic elements. Used to receive and redirect the radio wave from the driven element. There are loads of plans on the internet. I just looked at a few different styles and used what I could find. I still need to teak this one. To get it working better. But when I get it up to snuff I’ll make a video explaining what everyone is asking. Thank you.
