@@shyuperc when will you do the next? 😅 I highly recommend 7. It’s a complete different sound to their self-titled, it’ll knock your socks off. Devotion next would be fun too if you want to go chronologically
@betegeleese1176 I’ll be doing Devotion for my next video :) chronologically is probably best, since I started with the self titled. Thanks for the patience ❤️ also I remember that I loved ‘Dark Spring’ from 7, but I haven’t heard it in a while and I haven’t heard anything else from 7.
Dude, I can’t wait for the rest of the album reactions 🙏Bloom and Depression Cherry are my fav but they’re all good. still super underrated in my opinion and they’ve been around for a while. Also: if you’ve never heard any rainbow kitten surprise you should def check them out and make a react vid
Unpopular opinion but this is my fav beach house album. The vibe is just indescribable . One of the most gorgeous things I have ever heard, it has a very melancholic yet soothing feel to it. Every song hits and the ending of the final song is unreal. 10/10
@@shyuperc indescribable* instead of whatever I wrote haha. Bloom and Teen Dream both have their spot at the 2nd fav. I can never choose between them because each offer me a different sort of escape from whatever I have going on. Teen Dream has this melancholic feeling of longing for becoming a teen again, going to high school, not a care in the world and just being with your friends on a sunny summer day on a beach, that’s the best way I can describe that album. Bloom on the other hand, is an album to listen to at a cold rainy night, atmospheric, dark and can be eerie at times but is inviting and weirdly comforting, this is my go to album when I’m going through something and just wanna forget all about it and close my eyes it also has Myth as an intro and you are not ready to experience such beauty haha.
Oh wow that sounds amazing, I appreciate the insight on the albums :)) seems like they put a lot of emotion into their art, which will probably stick with me too once I listen to those! Also I completely forgot to mention that I love the ‘Majorette’ song by them.
The hidden track behind 'Heart and Lungs' is released under their B-Sides (called 'B-sides and rarities'). Their inspiration for adding hidden tracks was that it was meant to give something of a surprise to people listening to the vinyl version in the background. Sooo keep an ear out for more hidden tracks :)
Ive literally never looked at beach houses lyrics before i just get so inmersed in the songs i never even think about the lyrics so its cool to read them with the video
If you have not heard Slowdive's Souvlaki i would recommend that for a reaction. Any of Mazzy Star's 90s albums too or Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup.
I haven’t heard every song on Souvlaki but I love slowdive! I could do a reaction to that for sure. I also haven’t heard that stereolab album and I love sterolab lol. I know a few 90s Mazzy Star tracks but not full albums too, so I could do that :))
@@shyuperc Some other suggestions include Interpol's Turn On The Bright Lights, Brian Eno's Another Green World, or if you're interested in something very dense lyrically but a bit more folky Joanna Newsom's Have One On Me.
Thank you for this video! I feel like each beach house album invites you into its own world.. Thank your lucky stars is quite an underrated album in my opinion :) I hope you get the chance to review it too!
Yess I’ll for sure be doing ‘Thank Your Lucky Stars’! And I agree, Beach House albums are like entering something adjacent to Narnia :’) so beautiful. Thanks for commenting! ❤️
this records super underated, their other stuff past devotion is more grand, this ones so cozy though and I really enjoy it. i think youre like the only person I've seen listen to it on youtube. i highly recommend their other stuff! my favorites are bloom and 7.
Yea this one is super cozy for sure :) I look forward to the other ones, and I appreciate you watching! I haven’t heard anyone mention the Devotion album which I was going to do next :o
yeah definitely in the reaction space. every time I come across an artist or album I like, I scour youtube to find as many reactions and perspectives as possible and you're the first I've ever heard to mention them
@@shyupercIt all makes sense now. I've been wondering why (on another reaction channel) I keep seeing people tell the reactor to do Cocteau Twins. I was wondering if their music was memed or on Tiktok or something. Lol. It was very confusing. Good for them though because their music is beautiful and deserves to be heard.
Are you gonna do a beach house deep dive? Bloom, teen dream, depression cherry and once twice melody are PERFECT albums for me such comforting soothing music
I don't listen to this album as much as there other albums tbh but it does set the sound for beach house to really develop later on and improve even further still a great album tho I really love it
