Totally agree. These videos are so inspirational for me - not only for the decor and lifestyle tips but to live vicariously as I try to get myself in a place where I can move across the pond and enjoy that kind of life too. It's very motivating for me to see your simple day-to-day pleasures, Nicolas.
Today was especially poignant. We are really in crisis here in America, and the climate change here in the Southern Californian desert is making it worse for me personally. Everything around me is brown and dying. There are days I can't go outside because of the heat or wind (soon likely to add smoke). The few moments of you walking with Sophie in that lush green setting brought tears to my eyes. But it's making me work all the harder to get out of here and embrace a life that suits me better. I would definitely get some hydrangeas to fill out the space with some flowers. I find that they are structured plants but they also add some softness to a garden. I think white and light green flowers would look best with your color scheme 💚

Yes perhaps hydrangea trees. I have both and love them in pots around the porches here in the USA in southern Tennessee. The pots are huge so they give the trees room to grow. Love the vibes of the house and garden. Things are really progressing ❤️

Love the "spend a day with me" kind of vlog. Keeps things real imo. The "tiles" are looking really nice and definitely brightens the space a lot. So glad you followed Sophies advice on how to do the garden decorating.... I see her giving you directions from her comfy seating space 😀!! So I’ll be as candid here and say I admire your self awareness and would suggest that you be as organic as you like with your content knowing that process leads to perfection. LOL! Those are EXACTLY the tiles I put in my kitchen as a backsplash for my stove on the walls surrounding it. I got them at Dollar Tree for $1 a tile. I LOVE how they look. I agree, I never did like that color of tile in your kitchen, too over powering. That makes a HUGE difference in the look of your kitchen. MUCH better!!! YES, take us along as you go about your daily life. A more casual video is so much more relatable. When someone tries to make a video too perfect, it doesn't feel "real." I really enjoyed today's vlog! I love the variety of information you put into it. I liked your red tile, but I can see it's not your style. I hope you are happy with your replacement. The garden is looking lovely. I spent all day yesterday planting $74 worth of flowers in pots and hanging baskets for my deck. The last thing I needed to do is pressure wash and then organize everything and watch it grow through the summer. I love all the color and different kinds of plants. Love your outdoor space! I can’t wait to see everything all dressed up and ready for full enjoyment! They make such nice outdoor fabrics these days, you’ll be able to get functional and fabulous... and maybe two extra cushions so Sophie can have “matching beds”, one in the shade and one in the sun! 😉😊🥰 Helpful hint on the plant pots for your tall bay trees, if you fill the bottom third with bricks or heavy stones it will help out in strong winds as well as allow for drainage. I often add a coffee filter over the drainage hole in the pot to prevent dirt from running all over my patio or deck. I then fill with potting soil and finish with some Sphagnum moss to help keep in hydration and look polished!
Vlogs are always my favorite for the fact that they aren’t over produced, more relaxed and intimate and allow a greater connection of the creator to their viewers. However, I still like a beautifully produced video too, as well as a mash up of both... however, you might have to be more conscientious of the transitions in a mash up. You have such an eye for things aesthetically pleasing that you’ll instinctively know what feels right or when the transitions are too abrupt. I think you’ll love the freedom to have so much choice!
I’m sorry the tile in the kitchen was so challenging, but whatever pain and anguish it caused, I think it is more than worth it! It looks absolutely magnificent! It’s amazing that a little change made such a huge and wonderful difference! We’ll pretend it is all finished and fabulous! Just a little TV magic until you get everything you require to finish the job! 😉☺️😊 Big pat on the back for tackling all the obstacles and it turning out amazing! Well done! 🥰😍🥰

For my clay pots, well any pots really, I get the clay "feet" to put under them. It helps with drainage, you can clear any dead foliage around them and keep the area cleaned up easier. You can even find some that are dogs, frogs or I've even seen little rabbit ones. Just a thought!

A casual vlog is just fine. You live in a beautiful area. The walks and shopping you have taped in the past have been very calming and relaxing.......peaceful. it gives us a chance to see your part of the world. I think people love that and it is a stress reliever for them as well. I love the fact that you do a variety of things in your videos. Striving for perfection content will only bring you strife. It's OK to film walking, talking, gardens, etc. At the end of the day, your subscribers are watching because they like you, your personality, your charm and your authenticity. Love the new tiles and the garden and the patio furniture, and the new blender and the new kitchen appliances! I liked the red tiles, but the white is beautiful. I have a water pot now and it has glass. I love it. Probably wont last as long as yours, but it is so pretty. Got it on Amazon. Like the new style of video!
