  • TL;DR, it just wasn't the right fit, and here's why... Wicca is great for some, but it isn't my home ♥

Gardner himself was generally against "baleful magic" so he would be with you on that one.

I also identified Wiccan many a years ago. Now I’m Norse pagan and it just feel right. I think the reason I settled for wicca was because most resources I found in witchcraft were wiccan. I always felt “pagan” and I always did things that were considered Norse or Celtic traditions. And Wicca just felt to new? I always liked the “old ways”, just knowing that I could be keeping my ancestors traditions alive, ones that were almost taken away from us. Also the gender euphoria I get from just my religion and being who I am is just amazing. I’m just rlly glad that I found my path and I’m rlly happy u did too. 💙💖🤍💖💙

I'm glad you found something that fits right for you! I'm currently starting the path of Wicca myself, although I'm not sure where I'll end up in the coming years. I actually found your channel through your veiling video because I wanted to try it and was searching for tips, and after scrolling through your content I found I really enjoyed your videos and video style. Thank you so much for sharing your story, I hope you have a wonderful 2022!

Everyone has their own beliefs and that’s fine! I believe hexing is ok in some circumstances, a lot of people hex their abusers and it’s a way to reclaim their power over them. I know that this not all hexes but I do believe you should have a very good reason for hexing someone. There are also other things you can do instead of hexing! I found this out recently but blessing someone insight into their character and things such could help them and try to make them not hurt anyone else, which I believe should be the case for hexes. Of course some people are petty and power hungry and they need to figure out what’s wrong in their life before making someone else’s life worse. I’m glad you found a belief that makes you happy, I think we should all strive to do that :)

idk much about wiccans but hopefully, you don't get harassment for leaving it.
i am an ex-muslim and i recieved a lot of harassment and even death threats when i made it public. while as far as i know, wicca is not very oppressive and cultish unlike my former religion, i still can't help but worry for you. if you ever need help or support from a fellow apostate, i'll be there.

Thank you 🧡 I’m very fortunate to have the full support of the groups I left, everything is amicable and we will all continue to support and learn from each other. I’m so sorry you went through that, I am here if you ever need to talk through it, or if you ever just need cat photos 🧡

Hello thank you for sharing. First I want to say I respect your paths you choose whatever that is. I have been studying wicca and i am solitaire for now but your so right about the hexing. Wiccans from what I have studied so far aren’t supposed to be hexing but remember i am new . We have a druidry group not far from me do you think I should check them out they do a potluck every full moon in my area during the day ? The high priestess is a very nice lady from what I have communicated with over text and has invited me to come to the potluck to learn about it and meet n eat lol. I definitely don’t want to join a coven or group that’s controlling or judgemental cause i can get that in any abrahamic group lol. Thank you for sharing

The Celt's were a warrior culture by nature. They were not peaceful in any way to their enemies and in fact, much of what I've found even dictates the proper ways to wage war and the rules of engagement when stealing each others cattle. War games were huge during festivals. They put just as much stock put into psychological warfare which is why bandying words is to this day so prevalent in those areas. Most importantly, the ideals dictate what a warrior should be doing during times of peace, crafting, doing art, writing poetry. The Druids had a great deal of love and respect for stories and songs which is why bards were held in such high regard. It's difficult to find a lot of info on the druids because their culture dictated that they should not write anything down, believing instead in the power of the spoken word. There is no shame in being a fighter. It's something to be proud of. Food for thought. In your path to peace, don't forget the warriors that protected their people.

I've never been able to really get into Wicca either, never felt right for me.
Too many rules and binaries for me to be my truest most magical self. There is much more potent magic and power in the in between spaces, and in queerness. 🌈
Back when I was coming out of the broom closet about 15 years ago most of the books easily available were about wicca. I'm so pleased to see more and more diversified information (including your channel)available today!
    Keep up the great work!

      Wicca is too traditional
Most practices are still heavily gatekept even in the lgbt community
The only branch that isnt is dianic wicca and even then you have to identify as a female to participate

    • @amberharmsen2497
      @amberharmsen2497 Рік тому

Also most practices are very hetero scripted
Because a lot of it is from gerald gardner
Alexander was a bit more open but not a lot

Understanding more traditional wiccan rituals and such, the source material so to speak is very male-female, so I imagine sitting between would surely be awkward?
During circle there being male and female roles do you switch back and forth or what do you do?
Ah, listening as I comment and just got to heavily gendered. Yeah, people kind of touch the surface and go no further and still call themselves wiccan without ever attending circle... so they don't really know how binary it is in circle. Holy wow you were Gardnerian? Most covens operate on a "seek me out" basis rather than asking you to join. Gardnerian that is. Sorry for commenting as I go, really fascinating.

Sorry for spam, but if you were Gardnerian, being trans must be really weird in circle? Also hell yeah, CORNWALL

Not sure why - there have been trans Gardnerians in Bricket Wood for decades.
