heyy!! i just wanted to ask if an interior designer is an interior decorator by default, or they need to be learnt separately. czz u know then we dont need to be known as an interior designer only ,we can also be known interior decorator. hope i make sense.❤ jusst started watching your vids. so far i loved them😊
Interior Decoration for me. As a Still-life/Home goods stylist it speaks more to me as we have many moving pieces within the interior of the space vs structural design.
This really helped me a lot! I was thinking about decorating, but design gives me a better opportunity at making a home more pleasing than just aesthetics.
This really helped A LOT I was going the wrong way cause I thought I was gonna do what I wanted to do but then you explained it and now I'm in the right path thank you so much for the help I really appreciate it 💞🤗
As an interior designer, I often have to explain to people the differences between the 2 professions when I'm asked what I do for work. People automatically think I'm a decorator based on their knowledge of HGTV. I eventually got tired of explaining so now I just say I'm an interior architectural designer.
A while ago I did my internship at an Interior Design firm in Amsterdam. I was an Industrial Designer with no experience in interior design. One day, I said to my colleagues that Interior design is all about decorating and not really "creating" like mass production products, such as electronics or furniture. How did they react? Well, I will never forget their grumpy faces...xD Now, I clearly understand the differences and similarities between interior design / interior decoration / industrial design. Thanks Andrea for the informative video!
I want to be an interior decorator however I’m in Scotland do you need any qualifications and would I enjoy it if I like designing interiors on interior design games
I am a civil engineer, and want to switch to an interior decorator. I have 10-11 site experience, but doesn't have a valid degree. What should I do? Should a diploma in interior design help me in legitimately Follow my passion.
If you want formal education a program in interior design is the right way to go, I recommend a diploma, although you can also study only a certificate if you only want to become a decorator, but a diploma for sure will give you more tools to be designer and decorator.

You are right, both are great but designing will give you more felexibility when working with interior spaces.

Honestly, same. It’s quite frustrating that people don’t know much about this career

would you know how much interior decorators make for a living? is the difference very big from an interior designer?
In general it’s lower than designers, depend on the country but in North America it ranges between 40K and 50k

Hi there, yes, diploma or bachelor degree is what I recommend for anyone wanting to study interior design in canada.
A career change would take some effort, but I think I could really enjoy work in interior decoration or something similar.
Many people pursue design as a second or third career, it’s never too late :)
