From all the vocal coaches I followed on UA-cam, you're the best, you explain the best. You definitely need more subscribers.

The sensation of singing aloud can induce us to tighten the pharynx and impair the voice! The correct thing is to sing allowing air flow freely and rely on the ears to diagnose air leakage!

During quarantine my goal was to work on my singing skills. I LOVE the way you explain things. It makes so much sense. I need to work on raising my soft palette and breathing; my vibrato sounds like Kelly Clarkson’s sped up x100 and I can’t control it yet. Thank you for these videos!

Thank you so much for your videos and tips, Freya! They are so helpful. You do a great job of demonstrating the techniques, explaining their purpose and honing in on the physical sensations to be aware of. You have been a such a great teacher and mentor in the short time I have been working with your lessons. I've noticed such a significant advancement in my vocal abilities and confidence! 😀

What do mean less air for high notes? What if they are sustained high notes? Dont you need to take in more air to sustain that high notes? Or do you mean still deep breath but don't let too much air escape? This subject has always confused me. FOR EXAMPLE, Celine's "All by myself" money note is F5 (high) in that song and sustained. Don't you need alot of breath to sustained that note? Isn't breath same as air? Confused?

Hi Freya, I have exactly the problem you talked on this video. I will try the exercise you mentioned. Could you please make a few step by step exercises for close and tighten the vocal folds for everyday practice? Many thanks 🙏

Helpful as always, Thanks ;) I thought I had lost by higher register but haven't! I used to be a soprano but now am an alto (comfortable on E3) but it is nice to find the high notes again. I still don't understand the difference between head voice and falsetto.

My problem is the "r" and especially the "s" sound, I seem to waste air with them, other than that I have been succesfully holding the air, but not using the belly (that never worked for me with lower notes, just with punchier and higher syllables). Anyways, I conciously refrain from letting air out focusing on my nose and mouth.

In surgery my vocal cords were injured by a breathing tube that was too large. In one place they don't want to close. The "holes" are around middle C up or down 3 or 4 notes. Treatment using injections was too painful. How might I heal my vocal cords by singing?

I feel like I’m going to choke when I don’t let it escape fast and air feels trapped in my lungs. Can this be explained? Also when I’m concentrating on resonating and doing riffs it feels as if I’m letting too much air out

Thank you very much Freya for your great explanation. But I just want to tell you that I have inhaled deeply and deep down but the amount of air still the same, my breath can lasts only between 20-22 seconds only. Perhaps you hv explanation of this annoying problem. Thanks.

6:36 after that really high-pitched note, you say "It almost feels like I'm holding my breath" and ! I totally feel that sometimes. I never thought it could be from taking a deeper breath, or better yet, from using more air than needed?? So I think that, what I got wrong, was that it's not that you necessarily *need* to take a deeper breath, but insteaaaad (to get high notes just right) you need to learn to control the amount of air you make use of + to properly support the sound by engaging the core??? That it?? Great videos! 😊
