Nice leg wax. I had to stop at Orton on this stretch because of the heatwave, gutted as it looked a nice steady 20 miles.

Haha it helped my joints but not sure it was worth the wax pain 😂. Tough going doing that in a heat wave though. Yeah it’s a good stretch and this was a superb place to stay

Sunbiggin Farm - an oasis on the road to KS - still in Cumbria though until up at the Nine Standards Rigg. I always find that compression shorts mean you don't have to adjust the bag after taking a nature break!! LOL. Seeing how your knees suffered, and being heavier and considerably older, I feel pretty lucky that I had no issues with mine on the walk - mind you, my ankles and calves are just getting back to normal size and I can make a small bag from the dried blister skin!!

Haha I know I’m not sure why they were so bad. 6 weeks before the walk I hd shinsplints so hadn’t even put any weight on my legs or walked for 6 weeks. First walk then was coast to coast so probably just impact and the weight and getting back into it.
Yes it’s definitely an oasis it’s a great little place to stock up isn’t it. I wish I’d sat and chilled there for a bit but just stocked up and headed off.
Hahaha oh dear hope they get better soon. Luckily I got to the end without suffering a single blister

@@krisgleave we stopped over for lunch there - coffee and a Cadbury Picnic added to the supplies - luckily it coincided with a break in the rain.
Although the blisters have been pretty big (I think the result of getting wet feet - they got soaked before we got to the cliff bottom at St Bees dues to a massively heavy shower as we dipped our boots and collected our stones) - they were not particularly painful when walking - however, when I took the boots off, I could barely walk at times. Never had any blisters previously in the footwear I used so no idea exactly why I got them other than the soaking.

@@richardhunter7363 aah that’s such a shame. Luckily I didn’t get wet feet at all the whole trip unlike others I met. I wore Adidas Terrex Freehiker Gortex. Although I suffered with really sore heels I think I had a stress fracture. So for me all the pain was in my heels. Even for a good month being home but all good now.
