I'm right with you on wanting to overcome my intimidation. I've got lots of beautiful books and ample coloring supplies. Everything is swatched out, I've watched hundreds of videos, and I've experimented in cheap books I don't care much about. Now I want to really enjoy completing full, finished pages of the pictures I love the most. The strategy I decided to try is to select a few of my favorite books and have a goal of finishing entire books. Even if I "wreck" a bunch of pages in them, well so what. My "early" work will be contained within these few books. I figure that by the time I finish these, I will have learned so much and improved my skills. So the next few books I start will be even better. And I'm sure they will continue to publish a steady stream of gorgeous new books that I will love even more. And I bet that some day I will look at these first books with nostalgia and congratulate myself on how much my work has improved, how I have developed my own personal style, and how much more I enjoy coloring!

I have a very intimidating video tomorrow that will be going up on Saturday. It’s from one of Tim Jeffs’ books. I’m going to use pencil over markers which I’ve never done before. Love your channel. About 6 months ago , I started my sparkling gel pen collection and my coloring book collection as well. I truly enjoy it.even when I was little I always wanted coloring books and crayons. Always love to color.

I was sitting here coloring a mandala with gel pens and up came the notification for your video and that's what you're doing too. Just to let you know, I get that shaky feeling too. I eat something sweet and I'm all set. I had a surgery to tighten up the opening of my stomach because I could not eat anything without the worst heartburn and reflux. The Dr. used part of my stomach to wrap around to tighten so I ended up with less stomach. Kind of a bonus weight loss helper and I've lost about 40 pounds since the surgery almost 3 years ago. Anyway, I wanted to comment to let you know how much I like your videos with all your supplies too. You are so fortunate to have so many nice things. It must be awesome to have so much to choose from when you sit down to color. Hope you're feeling better.

Sitting here 🤤 🤤 drooling over your wonderful collection. The Tanmint boxes are great. They look so handy. Thank you for sharing your collection 🌻🌻 I know I mentioned it somewhere, I am am a bariatric patient. I have the Gastric Sleeve. When you have the sleeve or the RNY your body doesn't handle carbs/sugar very well a lot of times you get dumping syndrome. I too feel it come on I feel bad really quickly. I get it when I don't eat the three meals of 1 cup of 90% protein. It's awful. How far out are you? I was 360 went down to 180, but my health went south and with the 35 different medications I've tried, I gained about 60 lbs. But I'm healthier now so I've increased my exercise and tightened up on my eating.
Coloring With D it was 6 years last December. I do get dumping syndrome too at times. And you’re right - it is awful. You lost a lot of weight!! I was 266 at my heaviest and no matter what I did, I couldn’t lose the weight. I worked out an hour and a half at the gym every day and still couldn’t lose the weight. I got down to 152 but, of course, gained some back. I gained about 30 pounds back but have since lost 15 of that. So just a little ways more to go. My goal was 150 so we’ll see. It seems like my body is more happy here.
Hi Lisa, I love seeing all the gel pens in your collection! I enjoy browsing at office supply/stationery stores and looking at all the nice pens, but I never buy any because they're normally expensive, and I never thought I would find something to use with them (like I need to find something special). But seeing you color with them! I never really thought about it before, and they look really nice. Maybe it's something I can do one of these days. They look so very pretty. Lisa, I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your show. They are always so informative and helpful, but also like sitting down to have coffee with a good friend. Please keep up the great work. You are so excited about your glitter gel pens. They work great for me in very small spaces. But, I struggle with making them work for even slightly larger spaces. They streak and even stop to put out color media at all after a few passes with the pen. I am using a set of 50 Chromatek Glitter Gel Pens and another with no name. I probably got them at Hobby Lobby. It includes glitter, metallic, plane and neon. Anyway, any suggestions you might have to offer would be appreciated. Thanks, Whipwilpeggy

Love these colors together, I’ve not had that stomach surgery, but I had a hear attack at age 35. With a 95% blockage which ended up with me getting a stint, The funny thing is, I was driving to work the other day. Felt fine till I got almost there ( I drive 70 miles round trip to Iowa ) and all a sudden got burning hot, sort of spacey not really dizzy just felt weird, scared me to death cause I thought it was another heart issue, but I had been coughing too. All I had in the car was cough drops, ate a couple those and it went away, it was the weirdest thing,
cori sharer I get really warm once my blood sugar gets low. And I feel really too without being nauseous but my hands start shaking. What a crappy feeling.

It was awesome seeing all your beautiful gel pens. I have really started using my gel pens more and all I want to reach for are the glitter. I love the Caliart as well. They go down smooth and the glitter is great. Same with the Chromatek. Names or not I really love my Caliart. I want the big set they have.😁😁😁

But On the real, I colored all day Sunday with gel pens and oh! What they can add to a picture! Even my Pastor called me to see if I were sick, because I didn't go to Church today! But how do you explain that you missed services because you have become enamoured with gel pens and couldn't tear yourself away! You have awakened a sleeping giant here!
Wow! You have a lot of gel pens. But I can see that you use them a lot and I know gel pens can run our fairly quickly. I am afraid to buy too many because my older ones went bad after not using them for a while. Have you had any problems with that?
Debbie N. I’ve had problems here and there but actually not too bad. Every once in awhile, I’ll go through them and toss the bad ones and the ones that are almost empty.
Good to know. It could have been the ones I had. They came in a stand, so they were stored upright. I usually lay most of my pens and markers on their side. I hate it when pens have just a little left. I am afraid to color with them but I don't want to throw them away either.
Debbie N. I know what you mean about throwing away the almost empty ones. Lol. I have the same problem but if I know I don’t have a refill, I’m afraid I won’t be able to find a color that matches. I store all my markers on their sides too but some of my pens are stored upright.
Another very good brand of gel pens are the Cedar Markers brand. They are on Amazon...100 gel pens with 100 refills. Just finished swatching them and they are amazing! I just found your channel and so glad I did! Thank you!
Unfortunately, that marker is very much misnamed as it is not a blending marker at all. It essentially removes ink so it acts as sort of an “eraser” for small mistakes like if you bleed over the line. So it essentially lightens the alcohol ink on the paper.
Hi Do you also get traces of the ballpoint pen in the areas you paint? I can paint with black but still see white traces of where I painted still.. not sure if it's my pens or if that's what it's supposed to do.
It takes some practice. When I first started coloring with gel pens, I’d have the same problem. But that’s why I only color with glitter gel pens. They’re so much more smooth and easier to color with.
Wow! i thought i had a lot of pens, markers, etc for coloring but the amount i have doesn't come anywhere near the amount you have. they can be kind addictive haha

Debbie N. I know what you mean about throwing away the almost empty ones. Lol. I have the same problem but if I know I don’t have a refill, I’m afraid I won’t be able to find a color that matches. I store all my markers on their sides too but some of my pens are stored upright.
Another very good brand of gel pens are the Cedar Markers brand. They are on Amazon...100 gel pens with 100 refills. Just finished swatching them and they are amazing! I just found your channel and so glad I did! Thank you!

Potato Head I store mine both horizontally and vertically. I know others say to store them horizontally but I’ve never had a problem either way.
Could you show us how to use the blender pen for alcohol markers please and thank you.
Unfortunately, that marker is very much misnamed as it is not a blending marker at all. It essentially removes ink so it acts as sort of an “eraser” for small mistakes like if you bleed over the line. So it essentially lightens the alcohol ink on the paper.

Do you also get traces of the ballpoint pen in the areas you paint? I can paint with black but still see white traces of where I painted still.. not sure if it's my pens or if that's what it's supposed to do.
It takes some practice. When I first started coloring with gel pens, I’d have the same problem. But that’s why I only color with glitter gel pens. They’re so much more smooth and easier to color with.
