My God I miss this man. As a guitarist I always enjoyed watching and learning, but as a music fan I particularly enjoyed his down to earth music fan way.
Thank you so much for your videos. I love your kind of lessons, your talking, your comments about the music history, and your teaching. Hopefully you are doing well. 😍🎸
I know you dropped out of youtube and this video is almost a year old, but hopefully you'll see this. I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to use the guitar as a physical therapy tool after a major accident that took two years of recovery. Part of the recovery was regaining the use of my right arm and hand after some nerve damage occurred during surgery. Your channel reminded me of when I was a teenager first learning guitar and a friend and I would learn and teach each other new licks and songs. I found songs that you posted that I had forgotten I once knew how to play and it was like visiting with an old friend. I began recording my process of recovery to share with a few friends after being inspired by you and in the process fell back in love with playing. I think you should be aware of the positive attitude you inspired.
@@PreacherAtArrakeen I just discovered private trickster and this channel. Que Paso? I know you tube is full of assholes but these videos are the best. And they seem to be from my hometown of Chicago! Rock over London rock on Chicago.... Willie Willis reference there
James, if this is "The End," one of the saving graces things about this sewer known as the internet is that you *can* still come across thoughtful, kind-hearted people who reach out to others in order to help them in meaningful ways. You have done that to an exponential degree. You may or may not understand how much you have helped and inspired me, and, as you can read in these comments, so many others. Through your demos and lessons, you have brought people even closer to the music that means so much to them. You have helped them learn to play it, to get inside this mysterious entity that channels our happiness, pain, anger, joy, etc. You and I don't know each other, but count yourself as one of those people who have made my life better. For many of us, you have been a George Bailey of the guitar who has had an immeasurable impact on our relationship to the music we love so much. I just want you to know that. Please stay healthy and bless you.
This guy right here has been my guitar teacher since I started playing. You may not realize James but your channel has had a big impact on thousands of players. Thanks for everything.
Same for me. I started playing in 2014 and James was still on the privettricker channel back then. He was my first guitar teacher and I hope his catalogue stays so that others can have the same privilege we did.
Couldn’t agree more !!! This channel has been an absolute gem!! Love everything about it and it’s definitely inspired me as well. Hope all is well and he drops a line!!
Two men are fishing on a riverbank when they see a funeral procession passing by. One of the men stands up, takes off his hat, and bows. "That was a very nice thing to do," says the second man. "Well," sniffles the first, "We were married for 25 years."
Missing you James - hope your well and safe out there! Thank you for all the positive energy you have put out into the world. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
The day you posted The End was a SAD day for me (and many others I'm sure). You're the best. The way you show how to play a song is exactly right for my level of playing. I just recently learned how to play Two Tickets to Paradise from one of your videos. I am very glad to have the videos you have already made still available. I have played countless songs jamming along with you on your play throughs! Thanks for all of the great work! Maybe someday you will feel up to making more videos? I sure hope so. Wishing you all the best!
Hi, PT, I came across one of your videos again and it took me down to memory lane. I remember being a depressed 14 year old who wanted to play the guitar so bad but had no talent, but you taught me a lot and I remember those times fondly. I am 27 years old now, and I wanted to thank you for helping a 14 year old who had nothing. God bless you, your wife, your brother and your whole family❤
JJ. I am heartbroken, but so thankful for all the years. I started playing electric guitar 8 years ago at the age of 52, and have gotten quite good - much of it due to you. Been checking your channel every day for the last month, and was so excited to see this video post. My heart sank when I didn't hear the "hey all", and sank even lower hearing "good luck and good bye". Your guitar playing was astounding, your analysis was even better. Everything you played sounded right, even though you freely admitted that many times it wasn't the same way the original artist played it - you would say "this is the way I play it" - I LOVED that attitude - so rock and roll! If you come back, awesome. If you don't, you will be sorely missed - you don't owe us a thing. Either way, thank you so much for your unselfish guidance over the years. All the best to you and your family.
i've greatly enjoyed the JJ and PT posts for many years and I've learned a great deal from them. In my opinion, JJ and PT covered most of the greatest songs ever produced. There's not much our friend didn't cover. Give him a rest and just enjoy all that is out there. What a great gift!
I'm a little in shock at the thought that this seems like the end. If that's what you've decided, good for you, you don't owe anyone anything. I won't say I'm not sad, won't say I won't miss you and your videos like hell. But mostly, thank you. Sincerely thank you. You've shown me *so* much about guitar playing. How to look at a song and take a crack at it. We're about the same age and have much the same taste in music and guitars. It's been a pleasure to share some of the journey. Much gratitude. Wishing you all the best.
I know you probably hear this all the time, and it doesn’t make me special, but I’m 17, and I absolutely adored your content. I remember when I was first starting out around 4 1/2 years ago, I found your videos and something just clicked. Instead of going through long winded discussions, you got straight to the point and played the song all the way through with precision. It was a perfect fit. As I grew more mature in both my guitar playing and as I person I went back and started listening to your more in-depth analyses, which proved to be another important stepping stone in my guitar playing journey. I would look forward to your uploads, and whenever you would upload a cover of a song I had been really getting into or having an itch to learn, it would be the highlight of my week. You’ve provided so much for me and everyone else on this website, there’s nothing else at all we could ask for, and your two channels with forever stand as a monument to the greatness of the best parts of an internet. A man who can sit down with his guitar and take everyone on an over-a-decade long journey of learning and discovery. I wish both you and your wife the best, and will keep revisiting your content whenever I have something specific I need to learn. And I hope my kids, if I ever have any, will learn from you too in the same way I did. Thank you so much
To be honest, I still have HUNDREDS of your songs that I need to learn, so plenty to keep me going! Hope you are doing well, you and all of your family :)
Thank you for everything! I practically learned how to play guitar from your videos as a teenager. I didn't even know what a UA-cam subscription was back then, and every day after school I would pull up your page to see if you had uploaded a new video. You have been a musical and UA-cam inspiration for me for the last 10 years, and I will forever appreciate your impact on my musicianship. Wish you all the best!
Hi James, seems I found you late but glad I found you at all. I've been playing a long time & while I was a 'serious musician' early in my life (theory/comp studies etc) once I picked up a guitar I instinctively knew I wanted to approach it from a place of emotion, feeling, & creativity. I'm primarily self-taught & learned what I needed to learn about guitar theory along the way as a means to an end. I've looked at guitar lesson sites (the usual suspects) & picked up a few things, but they don't really hit me where I am with my guitar playing. Then I found your site & you're approach fit me like a glove. I have enough skills & experience to figure things out once I'm pointed in the right direction & your videos are perfect for me. It's not so much a 'lesson' as sitting down with another (better) player & working things out, picking up tips & tricks, & I'm all the better for it. So I'm working my way through your catalog. I'm a huge Stills fan & had taken a shot at most of his tunes you present & most of time find I've not gotten it right & have an "ah ha!" moment of revelation, usually from the special tunings & tricks of hand you point out. Once I have the key that unlocks the puzzle I'm on my way. I also know how disappointing social media has been, for me anyway. I've pretty much abandoned it like some kind of bad habit I had for awhile & don't miss it. I will miss your participation on this channel, but we all have to do what we need to to do to survive & thrive in our own space. So thanks for all the time, effort, & love of music you've poured out here over the years. I lives on with people like me who are still discovering it & benefiting from your obvious joy for music & guitar. Keep on keepin' on, brother.
Well Sir, If that's as final as it sounded. All we could/should say is Thank You! Well done. You should be proud of the instruction and body of work you've put out. It has been of great help and enjoyment to more than you know! I tip my hat to you! Best Wishes always.
I've been wondering where you were and was just a little concerned. I hope all is well. Whilst I really hope this isn't the end, I'm sincerely grateful for what you've done here. The lessons, the song choices, the shirts and your lovely wife's cameo. Go well JJ.
Same, I am late to the news as I’m awful at following my subs, but I was trying to figure out why he wasn’t posting anymore. :( Thanks for what you have done for us guitar players James James!
fuck me. I found this channel back in 2013 when I was still a beginner. I've since fallen off of the UA-cam tutorials rabbit hole (learning by ear now), but for many, many years, you were the one that helped me with a load of things. I would go as far as to say that I wouldn't be where I am without you; the biggest inspiration I have derived from you is your diss on tuners and that we have ears for a reason. That is why I began learning by ear to begin with. I missed this upload for some reason...but it greatly upsets me to say the least. I know you've had struggles with your health for quite some time but I don't know if your departure is related to that or not though. I really wonder why you suddenly made this choice, however, I will not berate you for it. All I can say, is that I speak for hundreds and thousands of guitar players when I say: THANK YOU. I, along with many others, wish you well. Love ya, man.
Oh no ! Like many others, I feel like I am losing a friend…… you were always the best for me, year in and year out. You cannot imagine the happiness you provided me. I was able to re-learn these tunes through a guitar ear, after having been a drummer for 50 years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you will be missed. Stay healthy my friend!
That‘s what I felt when I realised it is over . Felt like I have lost a friend , a funny guy , a masterclass teacher , who helped me through many dark days , over many years. May you always stay like we all knew you ! May you be healthy and enjoying your life . My best wishes to Mrs. James , too . Peace out .
I was about to shout “yay, my man’s back in business”, but the finality of the end of ‘The End’ video hit me like a freight train. Gutted for you if this isn’t a voluntary decision (and the uncharacteristically abrupt and unexplained nature of your exit makes we worry that ill health may have been the architect), but if it isn’t then I hope you’ll take solace from the fact that you ran just about the best, most positive, guitar instruction channel on the entire internet. Thank you for all the songs you’ve taught me over the years and I hope that above all else you’re fit and well and still able to play for your own enjoyment. Like many others have said, this feels like we’re saying goodbye to a mate, and that’s some testament to you. Thank you
Not intending to be selfish. You are simply the best at what you do. We didn’t have Keef or Pete to sit down with to show us their iconic riffs but we had you, the next best thing. Thank you for every guitar epiphany. Again, hope you will stay with us.
JJ/PT, I've honestly checked in so many times in the past several months to see if there's anything new from you. I'm subscribed to get notified whenever you upload new videos, and thought that maybe my notifications weren't working for some time. I honestly can't tell you the genuine feelings of happiness I would get whenever I'd feel my phone buzzing, only to look down and see that there's a new James James video, at which point I spend the whole day looking forward to being able to grab my guitar and tune in. I know I'm definitely not alone in feeling this way - these other comments are proof of that. I've never met you, nor do I know anything about you other than what you've shared on your channels, but, honestly, I think about you from time to time. I came here to write this comment and saw that I'm not the only one who's been thinking about you. I know from your videos that you're not a person looking for praise or admiration, you're only trying to share a common love for music that so many of us enjoy. Regardless, I want to thank you for all of the time you've put into your work, and the respect you have towards your fans to do so in the most unsolicited way possible. I've been playing for a number of years and have never had any formal lessons or training, but I honestly say that you've been my biggest teacher throughout my guitar-playing journey. I'm sure there's no shortage of inconsiderate pricks who've taken away from the enjoyment of doing what you do, but you have true fans who respect and appreciate you and, honestly, love you without even knowing who you are. What matters is that you're a guitarist, and that's something that we can all bond over in one way or another. I hope you, your wife, and all are healthy and doing well. I really do. And I also hope that we'll be lucky enough to see some activity from you soon and that this is not indeed "the end". In any case, whether or not you choose to, or are able to, upload anything again, I would just like to say a sincerest thank you for all of the thought, time, and effort you've put into your channels and videos. Thank you for helping us all enjoy this music that much more. Thank you for making me a better guitarist and a smarter player.
shared sentiments! I couldn't have put it any better - I keep checking too - sometimes, I comment - Keep digging into the back catalog. I wish I picked up on Mr. James James earlier. I'd be even better for it today. Cheers Majid - Keep on Truckin Man
Simply the best. You will be missed by me, and thousands of others. Heal, and stay well. God bless you and your better half for all the great lessons, and informative videos you provided us with over the years. You guys were a blast. The End.
@@jamesjames9275your playing made you a legend here. Never saw your face, just heard your voice and learned the tricks. If you're ever ready for another round, we're still here man. Thank you for all.
James...i cant compete with the comments. Im just missing you, man. The best ever..for years and years. Im just praying you come thru this traumatic time. Im heartbroken and devastated..thats how you have influenced so many of us . What can i add...only all my concern and best wishes for you. You've touched so many over the years. My hero.. how's that? Can you drop us a line..?....or maybe that is too difficult? You're in our hearts and prayers, mate..for ever. God bless and keep you. Thank you. Ken. Uk
Arghh...didn't realize you had left UA-cam world. Very sad to hear that. You were always the go-to guy to see how to play a song in the real world after muddling through other on-line lessons. Your ability to play what really needed to be played, delivered in a concise and easy to understand manner was much appreciated. I will continue to enjoy your vast catalogue and hope that some day you may return. Thank you. Cheers!
James... you cannot imagine what an important impact you've had on my life. Thank you so much for sharing your time and enormous talent with us. You are an outstanding teacher and person.
Every time I see one of your videos in my recommended I experience a wave of all kinds of emotions. JJ your lessons have brought me out of countless creative ruts and has inspired me to always try and learn something new. I have yet to find somebody who can teach in such a way that you do. Wherever you are, I hope you’re still rocking. We miss you ❤
Hello JJ/PT Just putting a good vibe message out in the universe for you Hope all is well with you and yours including Sid and Nancy ( I hope they’re still with you, I know they were getting on in years) I still review your old videos to refresh my memory, always come away impressed by your ear. Thanks again for all of your time and generous spirit Andy
Thanks so much JJ for your UA-cams on guitar songs. I've learned a bunch of songs from you and I'll keep learning more! You make it straight forward and so much easier! Love the Peter Frampton t-shirt!
I got busy after my Dad passed. Stopped playing almost entirely. But has it really been more than a year since I've checked in on the channel? On the off chance he's listening now and again Thank you James. You were one of the best tutors on the tube, and my personal favorite. Now that I have both the time and desire to pick up the axe again, I will be going over all the tunes you taught me and any new ones I missed. Good luck to you, may the future shine brightly upon you and yours
If this is really "the end," allow me to say thank you for all the help over the years. Your no-nonsense approach to playing has inspired me to keep trying to get a little bit better, even at the age of 58. Best wishes and good luck!
I hope you never remove these videos. You tend to reject praise, and that being said though you created a great catalogue of guitar work. Your channel is something to be proud of.
Hey, James! Long time no post. Good to see you back. Edit: Apologies, for I didn't realize that this was supposed to be your final hurrah. All I can say is, thank you for everything you've done. It has been such a joy to watch your channel for years, and you've even inspired me to dabble in UA-cam myself. To do what you did for 12 years is nothing short of awesome. To you, I say, "Good luck."
Hey James I just wanted to say thank you for all that you’ve done on this platform and the songs you’ve taught and people you’ve inspired. I still remember as a kid watching the privettricker channel and wanted to learn so many more songs outside of the band I was listening to. Now I’m 23 and still playing to this day. Thank you and God bless
best guitar videos on youtube! Sure miss James... not only the lessons but his knowledge of the music. Great stuff and really hope to see James back again sometime
Many thanks for all the lessons of the great artists ( Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Who, Led zep, etc), James James. There are many that match your teaching skill, but few that level your impeccable music taste
James you define what the internet can and should be used for. I've learned loads of songs just watching your videos and those little touches (like in Lola) are just the icing on the cake. I want to sincerely thank you not only for the incredible guitar playing but for also being a decent spud (as they say here!) with superb musical taste. I appreciate the effort and time you've put in over the years. I hope your health issues are behind you and you and your family are keeping well. Best wishes for the future.
Man, i found the Privettricker Channel TONIGHT and watched a ton of videos soaking up knowledge, then was heartbroken that the guy stopped making videos. Buried in the content, i found a video about closing the channel and starting here...and it looks like im late for the party again. If guitar playing and teaching still brings you joy, James James, be invited to come back here and sprinkle some of your fairy dust on the rest of us. And if youre ever back in Bluffton South Carolina, Id love to buy you a cold one and tell you what its like to be the famous musician's brother :P
well, if this is the end, I'm just grateful for all that you've done. I discovered your channel about a year ago, I was 15 and with a new guitar in my hands... I've progressed in these comment sections. I thank you for being my go-to and role- model; even if you didnt know it
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." -A.A. Milne I found the pvt channel when I was in high school trying to learn the sympathy solo, and now I've finished college. I've still got keyboard shortcuts in my phone for both channel names since I still search "song name, privettricker/james james" so often. Cheers james james and the gang
Oh man... I did not realize that JJ had stopped making these videos. Thanks for all the instruction, and your infectious love for guitars and playing. You've helped me tremendously, learning songs for my own use (cover bands). God bless. You are a gem.
I feel as though I am losing a friend. You videos helped me play songs I never knew I could. I have savored your videos and always looked forward to new tunes. I enjoyed you showing your guitar collection and question and answers with your wonderful wife. You will be missed more then you know. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Nice to see so many privatetricker fans, this guy taught me so much, I go to the point we’re I was just tuning in cuz I loved hearing him play, and no matter how much I learned over the years it’s always good to keep learning and expanding on what you know, that’s the joy of playing and learning
I hope you are well? I can’t tell you how much I have appreciated your lessons, insights and playing. It was finding your first channel years ago that inspired me to get back into playing. The first song I took from you was Moonlight Mile. That and all the other Who and Stone songs I d never know how to play with out your teachings. Simply the best guitar channel. Though I haven’t lived in Western NY for 30 years, the HOG T shirts always put a smile on my face. Though we have never met, Im feeling like I lost a friend, a guitar mentor. The guitar universe will miss you JJ. All the best. Peace
So sad James James... You will forever be a major part in so many peoples lives and love for music and the guitar. It's for those reasons that it seems so heartbreaking to all this "community" you've congregated together the sudden thought of never listening from you again. It's a melancholic and big THANK YOU from here.
I hope one day when you feel like you’re ready you come back and just have fun talking and playing and sharing experience and wisdom with us all. You’ve been apart of my guitar journey for some years now. And I’m sure thousands of people can say the same. If we ever cross paths one day I’m gonna buy you a drink buddy. Thanks for everything! Cheers!
PT and JJ were undoubtedly the most integral parts in my personal journey of learning to play guitar and striving to push myself. I thank you for all of the lessons, covers, and the sheer amount of time put into your content. You will always be a true legend in my book.
Man, if you have to go, that’s the way to do it!! I will miss learning from you, you are the best teacher and a great person. Thank you for all the music you’ve given me (us). Good Luck!
JJ Just want to say thank you for all the help and peace you’ve given me most importantly you got me through the lose of my only child my 22 year young son March 1st 2019.you brought me back into the lite Bless you thank you.GOOD LUCK ! May peace and joy always be with you and yours.Good bye brothers and sisters 😢
I have to admit i do secretly hope that the itch might be kicking in around now, 3000 down but you might have just heard that one song that deserves to be the 3001st! You revived my love of guitar 13 years ago, i then started teaching youths that had been dealt a bad hand in life. I'm happy to say that because of you and your lessons to me, you are now responsible for over 100 Irish guitar soldiers out there now proclaiming to anyone that will listen that the most satisfying way of learning how to play is by ear :)
I miss seeing your uploads and learning some of my favorite songs and new ways of improvising on guitar. You were one of the greatest teachers on UA-cam and one of the main ones responsible for me learning how to play. I hope you come back someday, but if not I understand that you were probably just tired of it all. Thank you for giving so much to our community of learners and enthusiasts.
Whilst I'd love to see a new cover or lesson pop up in my feed, I'm just happy to hear James is doing well. I was very worried there was something terrible behind the quick exit but if he's enjoying life I'm super happy for him. Sending positive vibes your way!!
“And in the end The love you take Is equal to the love you make” Thank you, your channel got me back into my guitar and turned me onto to some great music. Your LA’s covers were superb. Love to you la
JJ, your presence on UA-cam through the two channels has been truly inspiring and has provided endless joy for me with my guitar. Your humor and great musical taste have made learning from you so fun and I'm forever grateful for your beautiful work. My deepest thanks and best wishes to you and your loved ones.
JJ, hope all is doing great with you and your trusty assistant! you both are sorely missed and hope some day you’ll reconsider coming back, whatever platform/moniker, however sporadically. that said, understand if you are done. What you’ve so generously left behind is more than enough; a VERY extremely large treasure trove of amazing stuff, graciously left up for us to mine through-hopefully indefinitely. I also hope people continue thanking you and expressing due gratitude for all you’ve gifted us guitarists, whatever skill level. I personally can’t thank you enough. A plateaued guitar player for decades (embarrassing to admit just how bad I was) until I found your channel(s)-I’ll never be anything approaching very good, but I know I’m helluva lot better now & most importantly found fun it again…all because of your vids you are still the best teacher out there. IMHO. Thx again.
Hope you’re living your best life. Your body of work will continue to inspire and educate generations of guitarists. Thank you for your continued dedication to ensure there is a reliable instructor for just about any song first released on vinyl with a guitar (and some without, see “Let ‘em in”). Your channels need to be preserved in the Library of Congress in the Hall of Few Things From the Internet that Actually Benefit Humanity.
James, I hope that everything is fine with you and family. I just want to thank you so much for all the lessons. I’ve been watch your channel for more than a year and I have to say it’s the best place to learn music! I’ve learned so much from you! Hope we could see more of the James James again! The best shirts, guitars and tricks. Long live 🤟🏻
if this is the final video, just wanted to say thanks James. I learned more from your videos than I have from anyone else. I feel like you always taught things in the perfect way, you knew people just wanted to know songs and you showed us all how you played 'em and even how to figure out things on our own without any BS. Great teacher honestly, thanks man, and good luck to you and Mrs. James!
Man I wasn't even aware you quit gigging here on UA-cam. I just want to say thanks to all the wonderful "conversations" we had (well one way) because that's what it felt like with your videos. You provided an awesome insight and look into the music you shared with us. And definitely helped this old dog manage to howl out a few more notes from his own guitar lol. So thanks for all of the time and effort you put into your channel. I truly hope that whatever you do from here on out is a blessed one.
I hope all is well in your world and your just burned out! I want to personaly thank you for about eight years of watching and learning tunes from you. I certainly understand you owe no explanation of why, but I will miss you!! Please leave your body of work up for all to enjoy if you can. Thank you man!!
I hope you know how much you have helped thousands of players enjoy their lives more and helped us feel good about ourselves. A most heartfelt thank you , sensei. Peace & love, my friend.
My God I miss this man. As a guitarist I always enjoyed watching and learning, but as a music fan I particularly enjoyed his down to earth music fan way.
I hope he and his wife are well.
I hope he’s ok.
He should know he was appreciated.
Like losing a friend….miss hearing “Hey all!”
Thank you so much for your videos. I love your kind of lessons, your talking, your comments about the music history, and your teaching. Hopefully you are doing well. 😍🎸
2 years gone. Still miss this dude
No doubt.
Hell he should at least monetize his two channels and just let them sit and see what happens...lol
I think you should be aware of the positive attitude you inspired.
whyd he quit?
I'd like to know that, too.
Famous last words: good luck and goodbye

We miss you dude!!!
Jason,
So well said.
This deserves as close to an "amen" as this atheist will ever give!
agreed. maybe he wants to spend more time with his family.
Beautiful. Can I make your words also mine. Thanks JJ 💚
Spot on…thanks JJ!

This guys is a music legend in his own way. Words cant explain how much this channel and PT have guided me through learning music.
Privattricker, James James…Thank you so much for your generosity. Man, you are a superstar in my books.
Hopefully this guy makes a grand return.
We miss you!!! Thanks for all the videos you left us to learn from. 💚💚💚
Thank you for your videos, your insights, your shared memories, and your inspiration. Wishing and hoping all is well.
Nice words mate ... exactly what I would like to say also
i've greatly enjoyed the JJ and PT posts for many years and I've learned a great deal from them. In my opinion, JJ and PT covered most of the greatest songs ever produced. There's not much our friend didn't cover. Give him a rest and just enjoy all that is out there. What a great gift!
Stopping by to say hello to James and the 130k friends here who share the love of playing guitar. I miss you guys.
I keep checking back to this channel. It has truly been a gift.I hope all is well with you and yours. Thanks for the years of joy.
me too! where is he now.i hope he's always well
I'm a little in shock at the thought that this seems like the end.
There are people that play guitar, and then there are people that like to collect pedals...
JJ you outplayed the fabs on this last one! These tunes & your tone are truly remarkable. Thanx.
Great to see you here!
♥️
Mattiboo wtf!!!!, the best crossover on youtube!!!
The great mattiboo learns with James James!
How do you know he is leaving? The video is just titled The End.
Man, I feel like crying. I hope your health is well. A heartfelt thank you for both your channels and all the instruction and conversation.
I feel like there was a death in the family. He will be missed
I couldn't have written my feelings any better. Thanks JJ.
@@LookinUp2001 did. he announce he was leaving somewhere?
i thought I was gonna throw up./....serious....hit me right in the pit of my stomach....Good Luck James....u will be sorely missed
What is his other channel? Everybody mentions it but I haven't found it. Thanks for everything JJ
Thank you.
He has left a great legacy, and a treasure trove of clips for all of us to enjoy.
Go well JJ.
The guitar collection as well!!
Same, I am late to the news as I’m awful at following my subs, but I was trying to figure out why he wasn’t posting anymore. :(
Thanks for what you have done for us guitar players James James!
James, we miss you. You’ve meant the world to us loyal fans for years. Best of luck. Thank you so much, and keep playing for you
Emotional, I think the same of you partner
shared sentiments!

We miss you ❤
Anyone else stop by just to see if he’s back?
Thank you for all James, you were the best
There is only so much good music, and you’ve covered 99% of it… Sincerely…. Thanks.

Thanks again for all of your time and generous spirit

Thanks so much JJ for your UA-cams on guitar songs. I've learned a bunch of songs from you and I'll keep learning more! You make it straight forward and so much easier! Love the Peter Frampton t-shirt!
The very last outro is one of George's finest lead work that he has ever done, just beautiful!!
I got busy after my Dad passed. Stopped playing almost entirely.
But has it really been more than a year since I've checked in on the channel?
On the off chance he's listening now and again
Thank you James.
You were one of the best tutors on the tube, and my personal favorite.
Now that I have both the time and desire to pick up the axe again,
I will be going over all the tunes you taught me and any new ones I missed.
Good luck to you, may the future shine brightly upon you and yours
If its the end, thanks for everything James. When I’m playing music and someone asks me who my teacher was, it’ll always be you. We love you.
If this is really "the end," allow me to say thank you for all the help over the years. Your no-nonsense approach to playing has inspired me to keep trying to get a little bit better, even at the age of 58. Best wishes and good luck!

"There’s no great mystery. It was just time to do something else."... nuff said. Stay well...

Thank you friend. Saying much more wouldn't be enough. Thank you friend........
Just like The Beatles, You are the best. Thanks for all of your gifts, You will be missed.
well, if this is the end, I'm just grateful for all that you've done. I discovered your channel about a year ago, I was 15 and with a new guitar in my hands... I've progressed in these comment sections. I thank you for being my go-to and role- model; even if you didnt know it
WISH I would have been 15 when I found James. Good for you Amego !

A bit of grit from each Brit, absolutely mesmerizing guitar work by each of them. And you covered magnificently
That’s great to hear. Keep up the good work!
Guiding light, guide us through these nights. Thanks Jim.
Legend. Really. Fair dinkum.
Whilst I'd love to see a new cover or lesson pop up in my feed, I'm just happy to hear James is doing well. I was very worried there was something terrible behind the quick exit but if he's enjoying life I'm super happy for him. Sending positive vibes your way!!

Thank you, your channel got me back into my guitar and turned me onto to some great music.
This dude is undoubtedly the best guitar player on UA-cam. Just watching his technique and the way he approaches music is amazing
Hi James, I know that you have carefully selected songs in the last little while to symbolically tell us that this moment was coming. “The Long and Winding Road” lesson, after your shoulder surgery, was my first inkling as to your motives. I’m really sorry that this is “The End”. Guitar lessons aside, I just enjoyed hanging out with you online while you taught us, inspired us, challenged us to be better players and people, and amazed us with your note-for-note accurate, musical, playing ability. For example, I’m in awe that you can so beautifully play all of the guitar parts to this song, but of course you can because that’s how good you are. You can play the best, The Beatles, and you make it look easy. What a thrill that must be - pick up a guitar and transform into Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Keith Richards, Pete Townsend, and so on. That is your superpower, James, and like the archetypal heroes in stories, you didn’t do it for personal gain or glory. No, instead you have selflessly shared your gift and your love of music with us because that’s what good guys do. They make the world a better place as a result of their actions. James James is such a man. You are not an unsung hero because we are singing your praises, James! At the conclusion, The Beatles sing, “The love you take is equal to the love you make.” James you’ve made a tremendous amount of love with your lessons. I hope that all of our comments let you know how much we’ve appreciated what you’ve shared with us.
I’m going to close with the lyrics to an amazing song by Canada’s (Winnipeg’s) Crash Test Dummies. It’s called “Superman’s Song”, but James, this song is for you!
God bless.
Ted
Superman’s Song
Tarzan wasn't a ladies man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em
Up under his arm like that
Quick as a cat, in the jungle
Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no jungle scape
Dumb as an ape, doin' nothing
Superman never made any money
Savin' the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him
Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he coulda smashed through
Any bank in the United States
He had the strength but he would not
Folks said his family were all dead
Planet crumbled, but Superman he forced himself
To carry on, forget Krypton, and keep goin'
Superman never made any money
Savin' the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him
Tarzan was king of the jungle
And lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together
Four words, I Tarzan you Jane
Sometimes when Supe was stoppin' crimes
I'll bet that he was tempted to just quit
And turn his back on man
Join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city
Kept on changin' clothes
In dirty old phone booths 'til his work was through
Had nothin' to do but go on home
Superman never made any money
Savin' the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him
And sometimes I despair
The world will never see another man like him

James, I hope that everything is fine with you and family.
I just want to thank you so much for all the lessons. I’ve been watch your channel for more than a year and I have to say it’s the best place to learn music! I’ve learned so much from you!
Hope we could see more of the James James again! The best shirts, guitars and tricks. Long live 🤟🏻
He had a previous channel (Privettricker) if you didn't know, great guy, I think, awesome teacher, that I know.
if this is the final video, just wanted to say thanks James.
James!
My son is learning guitar. He is a big Beatles fan. He was wondering how to play the lead from the end. Took him right here. Thank you James.
Always leave them wanting more. Thank you and farewell.
What a fantastic way to bow out, well done mate and a superb legacy of videos you leave behind!
I know that someday, somehow all the good you've done is going to come back to you. Keep on shining!
