To me, John’s hollow body was the raunchiest, most rock-n-roll solo of the three, although George’s bends hit the goosebump button. Paul’s was the glue. With all three it was the tone that brought it to the next level (if you turn it up to the proper volume). Great breakdown!

The last thing they ever recorded as the 4 of them was “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”. The last Beatles recording session with 3 of them (apart from the anthology stuff in the 90’s) was George’s tune “I Me Mine” in Jan 1970, without John.

It's really interesting what you said in the section about John, in regards to the theory and stuff. I think you're very right, theory can facilitate a better understanding of WHY what you play sounds good and give you some pointers of where to go next, but the real climb with learning guitar is creating that bridge between your mind and your fingers. Being able to turn your thoughts/voice into playing. That's what I focus on most of the time these days, improving my phrasing so that I can always say exactly what I want to with the guitar, more so than practicing technical drills. Very interesting that you kinda said something similar. Thanks for the awesome video Tyler, this is one of my favorite Beatles songs and I loved your take on it. Hope you have a Happy New Year

John once said "I'm an artist, you could give me a tuba and I'll get you something out of it"

I gotta be honest, George’s solo at the very end of the song is the best on the song, it just has it.

I'm not sure where you got the info that the solos were completely improvised. That would be news to me. It has an improv feel sure, but the Beatles generally worked things out in some detail beforehand.

I think Paul was a guitar player before bass. I had no idea it was all three of them dueling. I just assumed it was all George.
I agree John won. That open string riff is killer. It’s so thick and nasty.

I love how Paul and George are doing Hendrix and Clapton style shred solos respectively
    And then John comes in

They come from the same city as me... But, unfortunately, that is where the connection ends. Don't live there now, but every time I hear em it reminds me of my roots. Legends.

I don't have a favorite, between the three of them they came up with an epic guitar solo. I have to wonder if they didn't look at each and say "holy crap we're good" when this was finished.

I just realized after listening to it a month or so ago that Ringo changes from a closed to open hi-hat and then (back again?) during the A7-D7 vamp right b4 the solos start.
Love the ending guitar lick from George. So tasteful and fits like a glove like all his parts....
    Great takes on the solos.

The End wasn't the last beatles song that they recorded together. The last beatles song that they recorder together was I Want You(She's so Heavy).
