Thanks for this excellent review Noah! I think this is more comprehensive than the profiles on the Tepui site. Thanks for actually taking the viewer inside the tent and hanging out in there to give us a genuine experience of what it's like inside the tent. Happy Camping!
Great review Noah, better than most. I just wanted to add a tip or two. That moisture on you inner tent walls in the morning, ... that's condesation from your exhaled breath and vapour from your body heat etc. If you open up those roof skylights, and all windows and doors so that the screens are closed but the closures are partially open, that will go a long way to preventing much of that vapour from condensing on the inside of your tent. The colder it it is outside, and thus the colder the surface (tent walls) that your breath etc. is contacting, the worse the condensation problem will be, (ie. in cold weather and/or winter camping you will battle indoor rain, frost and ice in the tent overnight). The other point I noticed is when you opened the tent up with the ladder, if you extend that ladder all the way you have a much longer lever to pull down on easing the unfolding effort. then once half open, walk away from the tent pulling the unfolding half past 'top-dead-centre' and then gravity works in your favour the rest of the way before shortening the ladder. There is also lots of good available accessories such a iPhone/iPad mounts that clamp to those frame bars inside and LED light strips that can hang from the bars, a 12-volt car battery in the back of your truck bed with a solar panel trickle charger sitting on the cab to keep all electronics going, can add some nice entertainment and ambience if you are waiting out the weather up there. Thx for the video and enjoy the roof top camping.
Great video. I live in Florida now, but i have spent countless days in Rampart range. Motorcycles, paint gun wars, even BB gun wars when i was young and stupid. I hope to get one of these for my new Rivian R1T!
Great video! I have the same tent! About the condensation buildup I’ve found that if I take one of the skylight zippers and crack it open by about 2 inches it really helps cut back on how much moisture develops.
What kind of zipper issues were you having on the cover? Mine has jammed a few times on the blue part (the underside/bottom half of the cover zipper assembly) and that part has been torn up a good bit as a result. I've lubed the zipper to try to make that less likely but not sure it's helping.
Thanks! This is the C4 Fabrication Excursion rack. I don't believe they sell it anymore for whatever reason. I'll most likely be parting ways with it myself sometime next year and hopefully going with a topper.
Great review. I have been thinking of buying this for a bit. My question would be: How hard would it be to be on my minivan and set up by someone that is 5’3”? Seriously thanks for the interior view.
Assuming you have a rack already on your minivan, it will work just fine. As far as the setup, you may need a step ladder at times. In the video you'll see me climb all over the truck to make it easier and I'm 6'.
Right on, man- great review. You're helping me decide. I really appreciate that you went IN the damn thing and showed us!! I haven't found that yet and it's been driving me insane haha I have a question though, those ties inside that keep the tent taut, they unhook while you're inside, right? You just left them up for convenience of the video I assume. Just checking! Thanks!
Re the moisture inside your rooftop , try unzipping one of your skylight openings just an inch or so... that should help with the airflow and reduce that issue... just a thought...
All good you forgot to pack your window etc poles on closing they still in the back of you bukkie.. Cool man oh no shoes in tent lol but only dogs in tent u funny hey Goodman good video. Now lets see your better half hava go. . please
Let me tell you, we just got back from Moab a couple weeks ago and it was the worst wind I've ever camped in. The first night we had the windows extended out on the tent and the rainfly poles came undone overnight. The second night we learned our lesson and slept with the windows all closed and the tent performed perfectly. That was more a lesson learned on my part and less a flaw of the tent.
interesting... you leave the foam pad in there all the time?? I've thought about doing that myself. maybe that's why the straps are tight for closing the tent.
Noah, great video man. A lot of questions answered. However, I do have a couple more... I have the same truck, how would you say the RTT affects the gas mileage? Secondly, could you provide some information as to the bed rack it's mounted to? Do you like it? Lastly, how difficult is it to mount the tent to the truck? Thanks again!
A few days late but I've arrived! Gas mileage definitely is down 1-2 mph when I'm all loaded up. My bed rack in this video is a steel C4 Fab rack and heavy which doesn't help, I have a new rack on the way and I'll make a video explaining more when it gets here. It's extremely easy to mount the tent minus the actual lifting. You need 2 strong people to pick the tent up to put on your rack/vehicle. Any other Q's I'm here for ya.
Seems like you could save the cover velcro by just threading the carabiners through the loops to put it on and take it off. Thanks for the review. Glad you keep self defense in mind while snugged up in the tent. #Pro2A
@@noahrane5721 sorry my english is not that good i am norwegian. how low temprature whud you say this tent is still ok to use? its a 3 sesson or 4 sesson tent?
Appreciate the comprehensive review Noah! Do you have an opinion on the standard vs ruggedized version of this model relative to the additional cost? Thanks man!
Great review! Looking to purchase one of these. The only concern I have is the tent cover or tent getting ripped on branches during trail rides. Has this been an issue? Thanks so much!
Hey Patrick! I can say that I've been on plenty of trails that are very tight where I'm rubbing on tree branches, and the tent hasn't even shown any significant scratches. You should be safe! Worst case scenario replacement covers are like $100.
Nice review! I just got this tent, still waiting for the Thule rack to arrive for my Tacoma off road. Do you have the Thule rack? Also planning to do the Faulken tires soon too, they serving you well?
I currently have a prinsu for the cab and then a C4 Fabrication rack for the bed. Looking at swapping to UpTop Overland here soon. The Falken tires have been fantastic! Happy to have them. Appreciate the support
There are a few different ways to mount standard roof top tents. If you have a truck, almost any crossbar rack on the bed will be sufficient. Otherwise there are more specific mounting solutions depending on your roof rack.

David, your comment alone makes the effort worth it! I hope it helped you and I wish you the best!
Thank you the Thule site literally gives no information on their own products lol I think they are on glue
PS. Love the beer ending!

I am so thankful that you made this video. You basically just sold me on this brand tent.
6:08 was a missed opportunity for a dirty joke.
Also thank you so much for this, this was a genuine review of the tent I’m buying, thanks!
Great video man. I have zero interest in the tent but I saw an ad for it and thought WTF is that! And now I know everything. Cool product. Thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the support for the channel Kamil.

Makes 100% sense. Will try this in the spring and report back!
Thanks> I've had mine in the box for ~3 years now and just installed/set it up. Great help!
This video is super informative and the outro seriously pwns. Love the off camera beverage toss.
Im hooked on this roof tent, I must have one!

That was a very thorough rtt review. Thank you for that!
Sweet review, thinking of getting the 4 person version. Btw, what type of bed rack do you have? I got a taco too and like that setup.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Just put this on top of my car today and your tips and modeling how you open/close were super helpful!!! :-D
You are so welcome! Happy Adventuring

You’re correct! They unhook with little clips
I loved your detailed review, especially the inside. I do wonder how it connects to the pickup bed or, for me, a mini van roof?
Nice review, my overland tent just arrived (basically identical, probably sourced from same supplier) super exciting to use it on my tacoma
Thanks for the review!! Been looking for a RTT to throw up on my 4Runner. You mighta just convinced me this is the way to go!
Can't go wrong with this one!

Awesome. Would you buy it all over again? How's it do in the wind?
How does the tent perform in high winds?
Good video - good information

The extra mattress is a great idea. And you leave it in the tent when it’s packed up? Is it hard to close? Tell me how you it.
It definitely makes it slightly more difficult, but nothing unmanageable. Totally worth.
Wow! Watching this right now, I would love to purchase one... can you share the exact model on this one?
Tepui Kukenam Sky 3
interesting... you leave the foam pad in there all the time?? I've thought about doing that myself. maybe that's why the straps are tight for closing the tent.
Definitely contributes to the thickness, but it makes the most sense to leave it in full time. Definitely a requirement.
So what u think bro ? Would you go back to ground tent ? Would you recommend for those who camp maybe 4 -5 a year?
Great, informative and practical video. Thanks man.
Thanks for watching!
Are those bungee cords on the inside permanent? When being in use, can you undo them for more comfort? Or do they have to be attached at all times?
I’m in CO too. How’s the insulation in the Tepui? Have you done any winter camping yet?
Almost 2022 now. How is the tent holding up? Do u keep it on your truck full time?

Yessir! I'll keep your advice in mind, I haven't thought of that before! Appreciate the support friend.
Awesome video, makes me want to buy one for sure!! Thank you!
Great video thinking about getting this Thule x Tepui Explorer Ayer 2
DO IT! JUST DO IT! MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!
hey about those you call strings in the tent. will those be removed while sleeping in the tent?
Yes!
@@noahrane5721 sorry my english is not that good i am norwegian. how low temprature whud you say this tent is still ok to use? its a 3 sesson or 4 sesson tent?
"he on X-Games mode" hahahaha
Appreciate the comprehensive review Noah! Do you have an opinion on the standard vs ruggedized version of this model relative to the additional cost? Thanks man!
how do you make sure it is level for sleeping??
Do any cold weather snow camping in it? If so how’s it hold up.
Could those vents along the top side(the triangle looking ones) open? Or support a hose, like one coming from a diesel heater?
Good video, thanks for showing me
Thanks man! Appreciate the support.

Great video, on how to set it up. Want to get it in blue with the annex.
I hope you're able to do that! It's a fantastic tent.
@@noahrane5721 I hope so too. Never camp in a tent before. But rather be high then on the ground.
@@noahrane5721 Try to contact the manufacture to see if it can be installed on top of our car.
Did you use a "full" size mattress topper? Or a Queen?
what if it rained last night and keeps on drizling, how can i dry it out and keep driving for the next day?

Just bought mine ! Looking for that lavender mattress, did you have to cut yours to make it fit the tent ?
Didn't cut it. It's maybe slightly smaller than the mattress size.
Thanks! One question, do you close up the tent with the extra foam pad and blankets? Thanks
seems like you could hang a shoe organizer on the inside of the ladder that zips them away from the elements.
I definitely need a better solution than we currently have.
On the added foam, does it have to be rolled up to close the tent or can it lay flat??
It will naturally fold in half with the tent.
The 4 legs that are mounted on the pickup sides that hold up the tent, do they come with it?
Great review. They should give you some benefits for doing this.
I wish, brother!
Will you still fit in a standard size garage? Thank you for video!
I’m not sure if you mentioned it but how much did the tent cost?
what type of set up do you need to have for the truck or vehicle bars for the tent to be able to attach to the top?
There are a few different ways to mount standard roof top tents. If you have a truck, almost any crossbar rack on the bed will be sufficient. Otherwise there are more specific mounting solutions depending on your roof rack.
Thank you so much. Very informative!! Also thanks for showing the inside...you are right, most videos are lacking the inside view.

Thanks Jen! I'm so glad you enjoyed. Wish you the best.
May I ask what kinda mattress pad you have?
Very nice. Thanks for the review.
And thank you sir for watching!
Do you have a link for the mattress pad?
You two are cool. Good video.
Thanks dude! Appreciate the support!
By ladder rings do you mean rungs?
Great review man!
Thanks Jon! I really appreciate the support for the channel.
What bed rack are you using on your Taco?
Not this one anymore! Vid coming very soon.
If you pop open the windows a little it will stop the condensation cuz all it is is your breath so a couple vents should stop it
Makes sense! We'll give that a shot on the next trip. Thanks Charlie!
Gracias bro!
how wide is it between your cross bars?
Quick question is your truck lifted?
Quick answer, no :(
what size is the mattress topper you threw in there?
I believe it was just a "full size" topper. Not sure on exact size.
Very informative, thanks!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate you.
Hey everyone, I'm selling that Tepui Autana 3 with annex brand new still in box, located in Southern California. Let me know if you're interested!
How much did you pay for your tent?
Aroooouuuuund $1100-1200 ish? Don't remember. I cover it in another video I think.
I appreciate you, Thank you lol.
I appreciate you, too!
Shots inside the tent was so DIZZYING!
In most countries we dont bring firearms when camping! ruined the video for me.
Ma'am this is a Wendy's.
