So glad to see that Ambassador won you over! We weren't sure if it would at the start of your vlog series. We may well bump into you on Ambassador in the future. 😁👍
@TravellingLightLisa Lisa, bring your own food, very poor grub on board and if you drink, don't buy a drinks package, the drinks are an absolut disgrace.
I could listen to you describe pretty much anything, loveeee it. Been so curious about Ambassaor so I'm excited to watch this (only 30 seconds in ha ha)
Just do it! It’s like a purple version of Marella without the flight and drinks included. The drinks package is reasonably priced if you fancied drinking however our family didn’t have a drinks package and didn’t spend a lot just buying the odd alcoholic beverage when they fancied it.
Really useful! As you know im a complete Marella Cruise Junkie but really tempted now to try a short Ambassador sailing out of Newcastle , having watched this. Only thing putting me off is i dont like the idea of set meal times.
We aren’t a fan of set dining times however even when we pay more for freedom dining on some cruises we still find eat around the same time. You could give it a go and divide your week dining between main restaurant, buffet and specialty if you fancied any of them
Not only a set time, but also a set table so you may or not get on with the people that you sit with. It also means you don't get to meet other people at meals.
We are going on ambition in January we are off to Cuba and the Caribbean. In the past we have only sailed on PO cruises but next year going to the Caribbean in January it was on Iona and that ship is to big for us. We have friends that have done lots of cruises on ambassador so we thought we would give them a try . I liked your video about it you gave lots of information thanks for that take care Rita
Thanks so much for watching. We loved Ambition. Iona is a big ship though really easy to navigate around. We never had any issues finding a seat or anything. We also cruised with Jonnys mum and aunt who have reduced mobility and they coped really well. If you are considering Iona, check out our videos. Enjoy Ambition 💜
@58mary999 if you have only sailed on P&O then you may like ambassador. Like P&O, food leaves a lot to be desired and quality of drinks poor. You will get better entertainment though. Personally, would never sail with either again. I will stick to Royal and Celebrity but not the giant ships.
Worst cruise we have ever experienced. Poor food ( only cruise I've lost weight on) very poor service. Waited over an hour for drinks on two nights, only 45 minutes another night. Nylon sheets on my bed. Facebook groups wouldnt allow my negative reviews. I do not recommend and woukd never use them again.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that you didn’t have a good cruise with Ambassador. We really enjoyed our time onboard with them, so much we have been looking at another cruise with them. We hope yo shared your negative feedback with them or your travel agent so they can try and improve on the areas they fell down on. 👍
Again just off the Northern Lights cruise Now I am a Solo and had a table of eight solo's six ladies and two of us men It was great company, only I am not a Predatory male, and found it difficult to tell the ladies how Attractive they looked or well groomed I did not want them to think I was predatory to them, but wanted to show that they were attractive and well groomed, as appreciation, I was worried that if I said anything like that they would feel uncomfortable, and also that If I said nothing they would think what is wrong with this male, what is wrong with herself To those girls Anne, Maureen, Janice, and Marie, thank you girls you were all lovely, I just did not want to cause any percieved offence JIM
Just off the Northern Lights cruise, Which was excellent, All the food was good and well presented However much wants more I would have liked to have had an always available menu of a basic soup, a Minute steak, and fries, and a basic pudding, I am not really into the great food they provide, just simple foods for me please
@travelwithjonnyandwill to start, the food was poor to average on two nights completely inedible. Their idea of a cocktail was a can of soda drowning the spirits. Poorest excuse for an old fashioned I have ever tasted. Just a can of soda with a little whiskey. No food after dinner anywhere on ship. Cabin was awful. A junior suite on deck 10 that was falling apart. Fridge loose in housing and almost fell out when I tried to open it. Doors on wardrobe faulty and during night would open triggering automatic wardrobe light. Halfway into cruise, the door came off its hinges at 2am and I was crawling around floor looking for the screws to try to put it back on. I was just 2 months back from a celebrity cruise that cost £10 less but was like 5 star to ambassador 1 star. Balcony furniture badly rusted and balcony grimy. Food in buffet was English pub grub. If that's the quality of food, I could have taken a cheap holiday to Blackpool, at least I would have got a decent drink.. oh, and cold custard with my apple crumble, like so cold it would have suited a polar bear. All in all, a very poor quality cruise. I give it one star because the entertainment was very good, like far superior to that offered by P&O on my cruise two months later. The other bonus point was that it sailed from and back to Belfast and I live just 15minutes from terminal. Other than entertainment and logistics of getting to ship, it had nothing going for it at all. Wouldn't sail ambassador again if they paid me too. Likewise P&O. Poor entertainment, poor selection of drinks and like ambassador, anything but welcoming
@travelwithjonnyandwill wrote a long reply but it seems to have disappeared. To summarise, poor food, awful cocktails, cabin (junior suite) was a mess with doors hanging off wardrobes, loose fridge that almost came out of its housing and extremely rusty balcony furniture that would not be out of place at local tip. Cost me £10 more than a celebrity cruise a couple months before it. Entertainment was very good though. I think their tv ads should fall into the category of false advertising. Will stick to the bigger lines in future except for P&O that i tried two months later and it was pretty poor too but without the good entertainment. Will stick to Royal and Celebrity in future
So glad to see that Ambassador won you over! We weren't sure if it would at the start of your vlog series. We may well bump into you on Ambassador in the future. 😁👍
Sounds good. We think Marella has taken some Marella fans who can’t be bothered flying anymore as it’s so nice leaving from a regional port.💜

Table sharing booooooooooooooooooooo! I'm out. 🤣
Aww just take 2 or 4 other people with ya like we did. 😜
As an introvert that's what worries me 😢
Not for me!
I'm glad they took your mum's celiac disease seriously. One of the great things about cruises. I'm not celiac but can't tolerate gluten.
They really did which was great. 👍

Great information! Definitely ticks a lot of boxes for us, a cruise line we definitely need to try!
Group cruise 2027 🤣

Table dynamics can be tricky at times which is why even as a couple we don’t like to table share often 👍

Glad you had a great cruise. We did say the exact same thing about an always available menu.
Princess cruise ship buffet better
Princess buffets are a lot larger and can offer so much more.
Princess in a different price range
Ambassador seem to be picking up where Marella left off with excellent service and value for money.
100% We definitely think Marella fans will love Ambassador and the fact there are such local ports.
ambassador was worst cruise I have ever been on
Oh dear, sorry to hear you didn’t have a good cruise with Ambassador, what went wrong?
