Today we have a build for Cole MacGrath from Infamous in Dungeons & Dragons. We'll start off with lightning, then move on to other elements for a flexible build in D&D 5e.

I love how standard Cole’s elements were, and then how strange Delsin’s were. Like lightning, ice, fire? Cool. Smoke? Concrete? Neon? VIDEO GAME ELEMENT?
Nothing is more funny than the ridiculousness of the later elements.
Technically he didn't control fire it was oil
Video was an odd one but made a compelling excuse for why it was powerful. Hard Light projections limited by your imagination impressive to say the least. Their was also an assassin who controlled paper. Again doesn’t sound dangerous but when you think of how sharp the edges of paper are and how mailable it is, then it starts getting scary. Imagine some paper floating harmlessly on the wind and before you notice that paper slices an artery on the neck with the subtlety of a paper cut and suddenly a storm of paper rushes you down slicing in precise places, depending on how much you struggle it could be an easy or long death.
Delsin's were boring because they all just felt like different gun types.
@@Broomer52 She could also control its density and durability, so she could make it hard as steel when she wanted. Honestly very scary.
Finally someone else recognized this franchise existed
I really wish PlayStation would just release them on the PS Store already
With this vid, we now have the dynamic edge duo of 2009: Cole MacGrath and Alex Mercer
Now we need the MC from Prototype 2 and Delsin from Second Son to finish the full roaster
@@salomaogomes7311 Delsin being the hardest. Having smoke powers, Neon, and Video...all some outside the box choices.
@@LupineShadowOmega video could be illusion magic... neon some radiant spells? Smoke tho...
Based on someone elses comment, shadow monk/sorc could work as some of the smoke abilities and misty step or other teleprt spells could be the neon dash
@@theknight1573 Maybe, I get the feeling that Neon works better as something like a Stars Druid dip, huh which could also maybe work for some of the video abilities, though illusion wizard does feel like the safe play there. And druids do get Earth spells. Huh. That does work kind of.
InFamous is such a cool series, Rip in pastrami
With the amount of times you've mentioned sorcerer already, I'm fully expecting a ton of bard levels.
I don't think the flavour of this will fit into any upcoming campaigns, but when the time comes...I will be ready.
Eberron
I miss the Infamous games! They were cool
Did rhey ever get remastered or ported?
@@Technodreamer unfortunately not, I’d love a remake of at least the first one. Nostalgia vision is strong with that one because I went back to it and it doesn’t look as good as I remember.
@@Broomer52 They tended to be pretty early in the console's life so yeah, not exactly the best looking going back to them. However, I'm really surprised they didn't release one for PS5 yet because they seemed to love using them as sort of tech demos (PS3 games had tilt controls for some powers and PS4 game had you swiping on the touch pad).
To be fair if you get both endings in Infamous 2 in the post game Cole has access to all three elements as he runs around the city so giving him both is still character/lore correct, even if it is triggering a little early. You’ve done a fine job here sir. Feel better.
Wait what I could never get that to work for me
@@xionus2099 yeah. Once you got both endings you should be able to access both elements and all alignment powers in the post game.
@@johncollins7631 Did you have to have 2 separate files or go back through on NG+ and do the evil run?
@@xionus2099 to be honest I do not remember that part specifically. It’s been awhile since I’ve played it.
@@johncollins7631 that's fair, thanks anyway though 👍
An idea for a Build that may give you a chuckle - titular character of Dave the Barbarian, a man who became Barbarian because he thought it means a librarian who also does barbecue.
That's just Tulok
"Don't you know the Dewey Decimal System?" - Conan the Librarian, UHF
My two favorite classes
ME TOO :D
I thought several times how Cole MacGrath would work in several TTRPGs, and I'm glad there is at least one video covering it
He'd be pretty easy in Monster of the Week, spell-slinger is fairly dead-on!
@@Glacier_Nester I still gotta play Monster of the Week, sounds very fun
@@ZelphTheWebmancer it's SUPER fun and I highly recommend it!
I was working on an "electric wizard" GLoG class and halfway through I realised I was mostly making Cole.
Legit solid build for Cole, definitely love the Absorb Elements and Evasion pairing for minimum damage even on a failed save.
One thing I really like about this build is how the pieces fit surprisingly well together.
Monk mobility goes well with caster mobility. You've got a limited number of spell slots & sorcery/ki points, but you've ALWAYS got lightning fists to fall back on.
Mobility & flexibility really feels like the name of the game here, and this build would be a TON of fun in urban terrain- entirely fitting for an Infamous build, where the urban setting is central to the whole experience.
I'm so happy to see Cole again, little sad no first game footage, at least none that I recognized, was honestly expecting a build with fighter, but I can say as someone who played both games a lot, very solid and pretty accurate build, especially love the balancing you do with the multiple elements from 2
Does this mean we might get a Delsin Rowe build? Infamous Secondson is one of my favorite games, along with Nier: Automata and Dishonored, but you already have 2B and Corvo Attano.
Hell yes! One of my favorite characters ever!
And here I thought the subclass would be a *Storm Sorcerer.*
I hope it gets an update cause the flavour of the class is really cool.
"I work on a farm herding goats, then one day I was struck by lightning and now I'm *Thunder boy"*
I’m so happy to finally see Someone form the Infamous series!!!
YES! Infamous is one of my favourite series I'm glad you're covering it
I love the Infamous games! Gonna need to give this build a go for a future campaign.
Fantastic build! Now I just need to find some good vampirism rules to account for that one time when Cole was a vampire...
To help the algorithm I'm also wanting to throw in a suggestion for Isaac Clarke from Dead Space, simply because I want to see you do more horror characters
Holy shit, finally! I've been waiting years for this one
As soon as I saw the title, the first thing I thought of is Shadow Sorcerer and Shadow Monk. I feel like you could do some interesting things using Darkness.
I actually got the idea for a "spell twister" character with the goal of maximizing how much I get from each spell and found that hexblade warlock plus shadow soul sorcerer gives the best return between eldritch invocations and Meta magics.
I built that one. And yes, it work’s amazing well
YES FINALLY I CAN PLAY AS COLE MACGRATH YES YES YESSSSS!!!!!! MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERES
So much nostalgia with this one, and is great that it is a really solid build.
Haven't tried doing a Monk/Arcane Caster multiclass, but with builds like this Kailua and Larxene I certainly got some inspiration.
Loved the InFamous series, thanks for the video!
I have been waiting for someone to build Cole! I definitely using this build when I become a player again (Stuck as forever DM atm).
Love Infamous
This is a great build! I love Cole, and the inFamous games are some of my absolute favorites 🤘🌩
I'm a bit shocked you haven't done this build before now.
Yeah, Monk and Sorcerer work better than expected if you have an idea in mind.
My Build is a Duergar Aberrant Mind Sorcerer (14)/Astral Self Monk (5) /Fighter (1)
You get resistance to Two Types of Damage, Three conditions (Charmed, Frightened and Stunned) and a cool Psionic Construct Motif.
That one level in Fighter gives you Unarmed Fighting which bumps up your D6 to D8, which is more usable.
I do not have words to express my happiness! I am so excited for this build!!
This is a build that truly got me excited!
God one of the best video game franchises ever made. Thanks for making something like this. Now I'm imagining doing a campaign set in the InFamous universe set before Second Son! So many possibilities!~
Yes I’ve been dying to see this as a video!
I've been waiting for this build ever since the Alex Mercer video and now I get to try this build out myself!
😂 how dare I skip Tuesday viewing when Tulok still delivers true strike chuckles 🤭
Look at this 🖼️
Very happy to see this.
You're becoming a hero to these people Tulok
Cole is one if the characters I've been hoping to see since I discovered your channel! I figured you probably wouldn't, because his games came out so long ago.
Transmuted spell is broken with a tempest cleric because they can use channel divinity to make lightning or thunder damage deal max instead of rolling, and you can transmute a spell that normally does radiant damage, and then make it do max lightning or thunder damage
As both Cole and Jesse Faden would agree, there's just something super satisfying about yeeting your surroundings at the enemies.
Also gotta bring this up... because a friend who's playing in my game had this conversation with me. How do you Play the Cocaine Bear in D&D. My thought was Circle of the Moon Druid with Bear Totem Barbarian. Rage and Wild Shape at the same time, pick some battles to just sleep through.
Legit LOL'd at the Nickelback joke.
what did you do to the main video(not ad) sound, it's perfect. crisp.
So glad someone gave Cole some love. He needs to be remembered.
Watching this...im curious about delsin, ive tried a couple times it works if you focus on one element
I'm hoping this episode does well enough to maybe see a delsin episode! Love the infamous series, it was SO good! Shocking nobody, I picked the ice powers first, lmao
I miss the infamous games so good
Thanks. Now whe can make the Alex vs Cole fight happen in DND.
Can you make a how to play The Lich(Adventure Time) in Dungeons and Dragons video?
A Delsin build would be interesting, though how you count neon and video for damage types might make it tricky.
Radiant damage and summoning id guess
Holy GOD that intro! Did you make it yourself? 10/10
I'd love to see your take on making Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen. I've been wanting to play someone like him for a while, but I just can't seem to get it right.
Any chance you could build Asura from Asura’s Wrath?
How about a Warded Man (book from the Demon Cycle series)?
One build that I would find to be really interesting to see is Kai Chisaki/Overhaul from My Hero Academia
Are you gonna do Delsin next?
I would love to see if you could do Delsin from infamous 2nd son!!
Remember that time cole was a vampire? That dlc was wierd because bloody Mary made you a vampire.
Haha I was just thinking about that the other day. It was a good one for sure.
Am I wrong, or would this work pretty well for an Aang build?
Monk sorcerer is how I tried to make natsu dragneel, (draconian sorcery/Draconic soul monk)
God I miss these games
I know nothing about D&D and have never played it, nor will I ever. That said... something something handsome and stuff ^.^
Also, Infamous1&2+FoB Remaster, PLEASE!
Can we get Jason Bourne character build? On the surface you could probably just use the John Wick or Daredevil build, but I feel like there’s unique potential in JB build.
How about Sarah Kerrigan from the Starcraft series?
maybe I should actually play this, it looks fun
They're so fun! One of my favorite series.
I've never played the Infamous games, I didn't know what they were about and what little I saw before this made the theme seem way too dark for my liking but now I do believe that I'll have to check them out.
There is a good path and a bad path, each affects the powers you receive. The story is great and the combat and parkour are quite fun. It's a little dark, especially a specific part of the game I won't mention, but not overly so.
@@Hobofish11 Thank you
Damn bro, your sponsor/illness could not be more relatable right now 🤢. Thank you for making such great content all the time maboi
For pure mechanics I would've gone for Half elf you get 2 proficiencies and +2 to cha and then you get +1 to both Dex and Con
Elemental Adept feat not worth it??
Ever played Virtua Fighter?
Can you do Ghostface next time? As Scream 6 has arrived, it would be cool!
Just boosting the algorithm
Past from the blast
'You could be labeled as angle or a devil."
Was this intentional...?
Hey, think you'd be up for taking on the classes from Darkest Dungeon if possible?
Vergil dmc all forms please 🙏
his hero name is The Electric Man
Monks OP
Hey man my name's Cole and I think it could be a superhero name.
It's super weird watching this video because my name is Cole and I don't hear it that often in stuff.
Can you please make a jujutsu kaisen build next?
A infamous build
I'm surprised he didn't go storm sorcerer
That would hard lock him into Lightning damage though. Which doesn't fit the theme of Cole being able to access multiple damage types in game.
11:55 did he really say “Angle or a Deble”?
Excellent Nickelback meme sir
How to play Kurumi Tokisaki
Can you do M3gan next?
Sometimes you dont need a special persona to make a difference, neither powers but that is a little more boring, and we are all here to let our powers drive to a path made by ourselves (Kinda like Tangle the lemur! but a little more anti-hero oriented, still a build for her would be neat as a fellow asphalt jungle parcourir, Sir Tulok, please? Although he might like racoons more)
Cole MacGrath, the Electric Man, The Terrorist, Coach, however you call him, was a simple bike messenger who in the middle of a work got called by Kessler to open the package that would unleash ground zero and awake the electrokinesis powers within him, now he must take part on the afterevents of the Ground Zero event, that will shape the destiny of Empire City's inhabitants and Cole will play a key part and that not even his own tattoos are sure what the final result will be.
Yo best FF game gets a mention
Draconic resiience doesn't stack with martial arts, but for this build, if I followed it right, using DR for your AC instead of your MA bonus, he's better off. When he first multiclass's, his Wis is still only 13, for a +1 to his AC. Going Draconic instead boosts his AC by 2 more points than his Martial Arts would.
I was wondering if those two stacked. Kinda sucks they don't from a thematic point of view. Since DR is hard baked whole you could argue MA is a learned trait.
Guess we can't make the plate armour jockeys mad though.
@@clothar23 Part of the issue would be tortle monks then, who, using the same rule, could stack their shell defense and MA to get AC 20 at first level. That's just too much.
Could you build Drizzt Do'Urden for 5e?
Thanks
would you say that with how much these games value choices, they're... infamous for it?
Haha....go to gulag .
Huh, I thought that Tulok usually did all female characters in March?
In the ancient war between Prototype and Infamous, I stood with Cole... until I eventually bought Prototype anyway, because they're actually both really good games. I will say that some of the dialogue for the "evil" path was super cheesy, but that didn't necessarily make it any less fun.
Now, because it is Women’s Month, I will only wildly speculate on what female builds could possibly come next:
Smash Bros: Rosalina (Is the True Star Lord)
Overwatch: DVa (Plays to Win)
Mortal Kombat: Sindel (Sings the High Note)
Bridge of Spirits: Kena (Ghost Whisperer)
Returnal: Selene Vassos (Live. Die. Repeat.)
Resident Evil: Donna Beneviento (Plays with Dolls)
Final Fantasy: Aerith Gainsborough (She’ll Definitely Be Fine)
Indivisible: Ajna (Enemies on Her Mind)
Control: Jesse Faden (Chairwoman of the Board)
Disney: Raya (Unites the World with Dragons)
Dreamworks: Diana “The Crimson Paw” Foxington (A Criminal Politician? Now that’s a first)
Maya and the Three: Chimi (The Skull Archer)
Scooby-Doo: Daphne Blake (Makeup Swatches and Kicking Crotches)
The Secret of Kells: Aisling (Fairy-ly good at keeping secrets)
Leverage: Sophie Deveraux (A Grifted Actress)
The Librarians: Cassandra Cillian (A Brilliant Math-Magician)
Rizzoli & Isles: Jane Rizzoli (Boston’s Finest)
DC: Hero: Bumblebee (Big Leadership in a Small Package)
DC: Villain: Enchantress (A Hula Dance to End the World)
Marvel: Hero: Suri (Takes Up the Mantle)
Marvel: Villain: Black Cat (The Purrfect Thief)
Kiki’s Delivery Service: Kiki (Little Witch Postal Service)
Promised Neverland: Emma (Protective Big Sister)
Full Metal Alchemist: Winry Rockbell (A Riveting Character)
Fate Stay Night: Medusa (Rides into Battle)
Just realized that you forgot his vampire powers.
Dear god, a doge meme in 2023? Respect!
I want to see the main character from ghostwire Tokyo.
*Before watching*
Thief Rogue/Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer.
*After watching*
Yeah, Ascendent Dragon Monk works better. Excellent as always good sir.
