InFamous is weirdly forgotten today, but that’s a damn shame. They’re just plain phenomenal, especially part 2. Glad to see Sucker Punch Productions finally achieve the mass success it always deserved with Ghost of Tsushima.
I always felt the first game was better. as you progress through the game you feel like you’re getting way more powerful, especially with the evil powers. And the ionic storm was so much better in the first game. They just felt way more destructive. Infamous 2 definitely had more variety with the powers, but never felt quite as strong. You don’t even get the rocket until the end of the game. The story/ bosses felt better in the first game too. They did do a great job improving the traversal in the second one though.
Infamous was such a big part of my childhood. Infamous was special because it was a single player, offline, no micro transactions, and a great story. Really hoping for a new Infamous with Cole returning.
I miss infamous so much. The fact that I would play the good side first and then INSTANTLY start a new game and play the evil side for all of the games says a lot about just how much fun they all were
I always remember playing my 2nd playthrough (evil), choosing to save Cole's girlfriend over the group of civilians only to find out they put her in with the civilians anyway! :')
@omariinc.6073 yeah, when you choose to save her, you take the bag off her head and its a civilian. Cuts to her screaming as they drop the group of people. Was gutted when I played it 🤣
Infamous will and always will be one of my favorite games of all time. I'm super glad you made this video because I believe not enough people have experienced Infamous or any games in the series. Somehow newer games aren't showing the same level of passion Sucker Punch put into Infamous and most recently Ghost of Tsushima. So I'm glad this game and this company are getting a special place in the spotlight!
Some companies have that in their DNA. Reminds me of old Bioware, I wish that the OG Crew was still around. I still enjoyed ME: Andromeda but it didn’t have the story, love, and polish of the OG Trilogy.
@@bpmcmanson8701 I still want to play it as it looks cool AF and being the newest one looks great, I’ve heard it’s still fantastic but just way too short.
When I was 10 in 2011 I played the hell out of Infamous 2 Demo on the PS3 Store and begged my parents to buy it for months until they finally gave in, good ol’ memories
I'm pretty sure I remember playing a demo for Infamous 2 at the same time as playing the demo for Arkham City, and I just became amazed by this cool superhero that I went back and played Infamous. It became one of my favourite gaming franchises - at an age where I didn't care for the story I just wanted cool powers. And then a few years later I remember going back and actually taking in the story and just being amazed all over again.
Exact same experience except they gave away Infamous 1 for free because of an psn network outage back in the day, and I loved to play the Arkham Asylum demo. Ps3 was so fucking goated man.
This took me back. Probably my favorite video game franchise growing up. I played through those first 2 games like 30 times each and never got tired of them
I actually don't think it should be remastered. A lot of stuff wouldn't really hold up well. The binary karma system is bad, the world is really grey and boring and like he said in the video the climbing is a bit floaty and not particularly fun. I did however despite all this love the game when I played it way back. The core idea is great and deserves another chance. What I think it needs is a reboot. Cherrypick what was great from the first two games and repackage it after what you've learned in the past years. And keep the music exactly the way it was.
@@Prahlis92 While I agree the binary karma system is bad in hindsight. I don't think the game was intended to be a choose your adventure or Cole in my opinion wasn't really designed to be a self-insert or similar to Shepard from Mass Effect where you get to design your own Shepard. In my opinion, the game was just trying to showing a story, one where you could pick between 2 versions of the story, one that is all-good or one that is sometimes realistic sometimes pure evil. They just chose the binary karma system as the vehicle for which story you want to see. Which is why I think if you ever decided to switch Karma, the game indirectly punishes you because your karma starts over and you don't have immediate access to the higher tier powers. So while the binary karma system doesn't do much to the importance of the game, I think that's just the way the story is presented. So I do think it deserves a remaster anyway.
Infamous is a lot of fun and very addictive. It's one of those very few games where I find myself saying "Okay, just one more side mission then I'll shut it off" only to keep playing for another couple hours.
Infamous did the same to me. If you got the time try out Spider-Man, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, all of them are like that. It’s kinda magic 🫶🏼 Love those types of games - pure fun and good memories. ❤️ They grab you and don’t let you go until you finish them. Without annoying you, like online games, when people get sweaty. 😂
I would love a complete remaster of infamous 1 & 2. But a remaster of everything from the ground up. Maybe new mechanics, enemy types and just more overall variety in everything.
@@Mcgriffin67remasters are good to get people that haven’t played it involved. Like me, I missed it all those years back and would love a remaster of this 😁
Infamous will always hold a special place in my heart after the 2011 PlayStation Network outage , it was one of the games I chose that PlayStation offered for free. The story, gameplay was just amazing I hope they remaster the series for the PS5
Same. Got all the games they gave for free using my account and my wife's. MK9 had just come out before the online issue and it screwed up alotta peoples copies of the game.
Exactly I also chose this a free game after the hack took down the PSN Regretted not buying Infamous with my PS3 back in 09, MGS4 had me back then haha Bought Infamous 2 day one an Second Son (before I even had a PS4) One of my favorite series The fact our in game actions had consequences in the game goin forward: citizens helped or hunted you, separate powers as well, finding all the blast shards haha
@@bpmcmanson8701 they're awesome games! Second son wasn't as good still really liked it but infamous first light went back to the grotty drugged world and I preferred that game to second son
the original infamous was one of my favourite games growing up, it was a unique story and package, i loved the electricity powers and how much variety the devs put into your abilities as well as the ability to make good or bad choices in significant situations. Nothing better than riding the rail way to then jump off and glide through the streets.
I really liked how it gave you a choice if you wanted to be evil or good and it changed everything about the game . Games don't do that these days games these days are all the same
Cole's powers were visceral and fun, choices moved the story. The endgame blew my mind! I found the world well rendered and lived in. I lost hours just zipping around the city mesmerized by the unique traversal methods.
The game was awesome. Take the parkour of Prototype combined with Starkiller with only lightning powers, no saber and dump them in a modern American city and presto. How could anyone not love this???
Me too, though for me personally I really wasnt a big fan of second son at all, the powers, the protagonist or the story, none of it was good for me, Infamous 1&2 were where it was at...... I sincerely hope they make another one, preferably as good as the first 2
@@bpmcmanson8701 Totally agree - I never managed to finish Second Son even once. Beat INfamous 1 & 2 at least twice each, playing the first time as good and the second as evil and seeing the alternate endings for each story element. The plot twists on the story beats and the finale - for both games and both "karma" - were awesome I even loved the DLC for 2, where Colt turns vampire and needs blood instead of electricity...I don't remember it well, but I remember being amazed how fun it was despite reusing the same map and just remixing powers. I'd love a proper PS5 remake of the first two. Not sure how easy that would be since they were built for different hardware, but I don't care, I'd play them again.
The funny part about the energy absorption aspect, is that you can essentially "create" energy out of nothing. Use your cheap basic shot a few times on anything metal, absorb the charge you gave it, and voilà, you have more energy than you put in. Infinite energy at any time. It was kind of broken and didn't follow physics with the law of conservation of energy, but damn was it convenient.
@@bigaj6901 That's true, though I'd argue that a videogame doesn't "have" to make sense at the expense of fun. Sometimes it's more fun to just fall into the suspension of disbelief, and let them do whatever with the game mechanics, as long as it makes the gameplay more fun.
@@FFKonFire Thing is, it wasn't anything "running", it was just anything metal. Whether a stationary car, to a manhole cover, if I remember correctly you just just fire off electricity to anything metal, running or not, and it would hold the charge you gave it for a few seconds as a visual effect, but you could suck it back up during that time, and when you did, you got more than you put in, even if it was just a metal post or ladder.
This is still in my top 3 games of all time. I've been in love with this series since the jump and still check in on Sucker Punch regularly in the hope of seeing news of a new infamous game. I can't express just how much this game impacted me, not without writing a novel.
Infamous 1 and 2 were the best superhero games ever, I loved running around the city gliding, sliding on the telephone lines and electrocuting stuff. Infamous 2nd son was good but it felt lacking in some ways. infamous 1 and 2 just felt better more captivating and always made me want to come back n keep Playing. Sucker punch is going amazing and I can’t wait for Ghost Of Tsushima 2.
a big part was the graphics for me, I loved the comic art style from 1&2, in fact, seeing this video, the art style has held up extremely well and still looks great imo. Second Son's map felt small and not very well laid out
@@Itz_Hybrid Arkham was ok, I never liked the single button combat, while it looks impressive, it became very repetitive. I think the morality system, combat and populated worlds, elevates inFamouse to a higher tier, but that is just my preferences
@@efrinzorlon16 that's understandable. I think what gives arkham the edge for me is something I can't fault infamous for but it's about an already existing character with a huge rouge gallery
Seeing how games are released nowadays it's actually amazing how Infamous was an open world game with so many small details and you could completely enjoy it directly from the CD.
@@cenciende9401 What are you talking about? They didn't say anything about GTA IV, and the didn't compare Infamous to other games from that era, only to modern games. Your comment literally doesn't make any sense in the context of what the OP said.
I remember climbing to the top of junk tower and jumping off it so many times just to feel a rush of vertigo. It was the first game to really nail the rush of freefalling.
This game was so influential. I can remember playing the Division for the first time and looking at the gangs which imo are a nod to Infamous. Other games have tried to capture the same lightning in a bottle (yeah I did that on purpose) but never really succeed without coming off goofy. The game strikes the perfect balance of flashy over the top powers without turning the game into a cake walk.
When Second Son came out, I was really hoping that this would be the start of a new superhero group. You have Cole who does lightning, Second Son kid does smoke/fire, you have that girl that has the purple light power. Next we could have got someone that does water/ice, metal/earth, possibly some weird stuff like poisonous smoke or teleportation. Would have been cool if this turned into a whole giant Infamous Universe
@@nilge90 not gonna lie I was young at the time so I never got the chance to play the first Infamous. I only played Infamous 2 (my entire childhood) and then Second Son. At the young age I was, I didn't really care much for the story. Or I guess maybe I didn't understand it. I really only cared about the fact that I could be a superhero in an open world game. Nowadays I understand the story and I would love for Sucker Punch to continue that intense focus on lore, but I would also like for them to still make it a sandbox superhero game, with possibly multiple characters to choose from. That's my dream game.
@@Shockwerk I remember during the time I played Infamous 2 I looked up all the "characters with powers" and I remember reading on a lot of conduits, but most were evil I think. Haven't refreshed my memory in a long time because... you know... there isn't a modern infamous game.
I remember when the original came out. I had gone to a buddies place to pick him up for lunch, and he had rented it the night before (from a blockbuster, remember being able to do that…) and had watched him play for half an hour to an hour. We went for lunch, I stopped at a store on the way back, and picked up my own copy because it was just that intriguing.
Please continue the “series” with Infamous 2 & Second Son! I, along with many others, would love to revisit these games with your style. Thanks for making the video!
Infamous and Prototype both came out around each other and I enjoyed every minute. If I recall correctly, they both had that similar good/evil dichotomy. Both had their own enjoyable aspects.
I agree I been wanting a new prototype or infamous though I gotta say I really didnt like second son as much, it was my least favorite out of the 5 games (3 infamous and 2 prototype)
I ended up getting both games for my 14th birthday and I finished Prototype first because of the instant badass gratification of being crazy and reckless. But then after playing Infamous, I could never get the game out of my head and I always raved about it. It's crazy that in a world of videogames, games with this superhero aspect are so far and few between. I don't ever pre-order but if a new Infamous is announced, you can bet i'd be pre-ordering that.
With SP now having even more success with Ghost of Tsushima, I'd love for them to outsource and release a remastered collection of Infamous 1 & 2. Absolutely amazing games
inFamous was one of my all time favourite games during the early days of the PS3. Such was amazing game. I played the heck out of it beating it on multiple playthroughs and was one of the first games I ever platiumned. I really hope Sucker Punch make a true sequel with Cole McGrath returning one day.
I got infamous for free as part of the free games you where entitled to when PSN where hacked(anyone remember that?)and made unavailable for weeks(iirc) and absolutely loved it. It felt so fresh back in the day and it's just a blast to play. The sequel was amazing too.
i first played infamous in one of those demos at walmart with my brother. we were so transfixed it’s all we asked for christmas. we got infamous 2 and arkham city with a ps3 that year, and those games will always be some of my favorites in the world, they have exactly what i love! even more special remembering it on christmas! happy holidays :)
First off, I would like to thank Gameranx for making this video because I have a sad feeling that everyone is forgetting this masterpiece. inFAMOUS has inspired me personally in many ways like... To write stories, create off-beat superhero characters, what not! It's truly a game changer to this date. I would really get back into that world if there's a remake or a new inFAMOUS game. To this day, sometimes I get home from a busy day at work, switch on my old PS3, roam around the streets and jump on the rooftops of Empire City, shooting down enemies with electric bolts... God, it still feels as good as the first time! inFAMOUS is truly one of it's kind! There's nothing like nostalgia, afterall...
I dont thinks its really being forgotten about When the trailer for the spiderman game came out i was surprised by how many peeps thought it was a new infamous game and when elden ring came out i saw a video comparing its electricity visuals to games and was again surprised by how many peeps remembered it and brought up infamous in the comments
I remember playing on my ps3 (RIP) EVERYDAY until I beat it. The powers cole had, his story, Kessler being a future Cole was all top Tier. Great memories.
Infamous is proof new IP’s are risks worth taking! Unfortunately I think a lot of new stuff gets hit too hard with criticism before it’s even released nowadays though. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Forspoken is going to be like but it feels like everyone has already decided it’s not a good game and that it won’t be any good for this reason or that reason. I really hope it’s just a good fun game so that in 14 years you can do a video about that too!
yeah agreed, like people are wanting new games, that are different from the normal, and I agree with you on the forspoken to, like I've played the demo when that released, and honestly it's not as bad as people say it is, I found it different and unique but entertaining to play to, and when the full game does release we can properly enjoy it as it is meant to be, the demo did state that it was not the final copy, and people seem to forget that and make it sound bad, like if you wanna do that, at least make it constructive criticism or just leave it alone and let those enjoy it who want to play it, and omg loved the infamous series, all their games even the smaller titles, like the Vamp one and first light were really cool, i hope they do something more with it, cause on current gen the games would look absolutely increadible
I remember Sly Cooper and Infamous 1 and 2 being a major part of my childhood. I still have memories of playing certain missions and parts when I was 9.
I loved how the story transition over from infamous 1 into infamous 2. That made both games so special to me. The only way I got into infamous is Because of the hack in 2011 when they gave some games away for free. I miss those days so much its ridiculous.
...the timing for this video...I decided to finally play the evil side of Infamous a month ago to get the platinum trophy! Boy was it trip to replay this game. Simple, direct to the point. It's something that seems to have stayed true in all of Sucker Punch's games. Along with the floaty/magnetic traversal mechanics! And I love their games for that XD Keep on keeping on SP!
Amazing commentary Jake! Made me really think and realize what this team accomplished. When they didn't have much to go off as far as presentation and gameplay. And we'll look what they created from their minds their brains out this all together. Jeez what a concept. I love it
I recently just played through all 3 mainline games as I realized I hadn't played any of the games since I beat Second Son when it first came out. I remembered loving 2 the most but after going back? The first is probably my favourite. Now there are some parts that haven't aged well (the climbing controls in particular can be abyssal...) But that dark tone of the original and Cole being either, a man who gave into his base desires or a man who tried his best to make a change, was just a more interesting narrative than the Cole who laughs at the word "Duty" in the second game. However, still a great game series. Would love to see a remake or new entry into the series someday. Great video as always guys!
Plz talk about inFamous 2, I loved this video and would love a second one even more. Probably my favourite games channel, thanks so much for the years of awesome content guys.
I played infamous like 7 years ago now; well after it's initial release date but still relatively a decent time ago. I loved it, and I finished it at 1Am (late for little old me at the time) with my sister. We were completely floored by the ending and that moment is still one of my favorites to date.
@@vailingshadow5030 I agree, remasters are overdone and seldomly honor the original enough. Make new stories, remakes only show how devoid of ideas these publishers really are
@@vailingshadow5030 I'm with you on the remasters; reMAKEs however, I'm all for. Like, ground-up development for the older Infamous games that I never got to play?? uhhhhhh yes please
I played this game so many times. I’ve done both Good and Evil karma play throughs. I love this game it’s one of my top 10 favorite games. It was such a unique superhero game because Cole at the end of the day is or was just a normal guy who now has electricity coming out of his hands. He never wanted it but now he’s gotta deal with it. The only question is: how? And how will Empire City survive with him?
I remember playing the demo for the first game at stores in the game section or at GameStop. The graphics and mechanics were definitely next world at the time. The particle effects and stuff like ragdoll were insane coming from the PS2. This and SKATE really "WOW'd" me into that generation.
My brothers friend at the time was a huge Sony guy, and I at the time was a big Xbox guy, but he was in the middle of moving and wanted me to take care of his stuff for him. Amongst his PS3 collection was Infamous, still sealed, he had just got it. He let me try it out because I had never heard of it and the rest was history. I have tons of memories of me and my brother going back and forth playing that game and just causing havoc, and the sequels were great too. Thanks for making this episode, makes me happy to know how much other people loved this game.
I still haven't found a game that brought me as much amusement as this one. Infamous 2 had a lot of cool additions that really made things so much more fun but I still remember unlocking the final ability and taking out an entire group of enemies with one lightning strike
This video was made for me. Infamous 1 & 2 are definitely in my top 10 games of all time, maybe top 5, I LOVE them. Like u said, everything worked well and was near perfect - gameplay, story, concept, world, karma mechanic, etc. On top of all that, the fact they created this all themselves and it wasnt a licensed game or adaptation is phenomenonal.
I loved Infamous. The first game especially. Everything you mentioned was what made it so great. I loved the morality system, and on my first playthrough played as good Cole. That twist at the end with who Kessler was, was also mind blowing. The second game was good as well, and although I bought and played the third game, it wasn't really as good as the first two. Once finishing the third game the city felt rather lifeless with nothing left to do or explore.
Literally the only game that ever made me WANT to play multiple times on the hardest difficulty to play as both good and evil and experience everything the game had to offer. Maybe a little too much finding all the little hidden items throughout the game but still one of my favorite games of all time! Definitely wished for a PS4 and PS5 entry.
I'm usually a new game>sequel kinda guy but infamous can go a lot further and I'm hoping to see it return one day. It's one of those games that make me think about how devs should try to be more original and take more risks
Infamoys was my first ps3 game. Played and replayed it 5 times, I guess. I was younger and didn't have much experience with games, so it was incredible to explore freely the city and also the morality system, which reflected quite clearly in the game experience. At the end of my playthroughs, I remember having a preference to being a good hero, as the environment got darker at the end of the game if you chose to be a vilain. Very good game, it was nice seeing it again after many years.
Ok, i haven't watched the full thing yet but i wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPENING. I have been trying to remember Rocket Robot FOREVER, cause i remember playing it when i was a kid and couldn't remember the name AT ALL...now just need to remember what that magnet game on dreamcast was called...
dude i remember that power rush of being a bad ass super hero with amazing powers but facing a just as powerful threat! man i want more games like this! still my all time favorite games
I loved Infamous 1 and 2 so much when they came out. I used to find the highest building I could and scale it, then jump down and ground slam below. It was such a power-rich fantasy. I miss that kind of excitement for video games coming out now.
I remember playing back in 2009 on Christmas I got me first ever PS3, & one the games that I got was INFAMOUS. Oh my it was such a blast playing as Cole climbing around, running through The Reapers like it was nothing (at times). It was also the first open world game I've ever played. Whenever I look back at this game it brings back such profound memories.
bro so happy you talked about infamous, one of my favourite games. I would love another sequel but also a remake/remaster of the original 1+2 so they're available on more modern systems and not stuck on the ps3.
2009 was a great year for "Hero" games; inFamous and PROTOTYPE really was right up my alley. Both had excellent premises, decent-to-good writing, and were executed perfectly in terms of pace and gameplay :D
Loved Infamous! This is the game that taught me to play the good side 1st, then go bad. It's way more difficult to stop eviscerating everything and then be careful. I love how the city become healthier when you play the good side. But Jake, you did forget to mention what a pain it was to Shard search. It's what stopped me from platinuming it. Still sore from that.
So glad you guys are talking about Infamous! These were so good! I loved how you could have a "good versus bad" choice and it affected the story. I think it was my first game that did that
This game was such an amazing experience!!! I remember a friend of mine liked it so much that he let me borrow it, and I played it twice. The evil run was much more fun, the looks and the abilities was just better 😂 but the game on its core felt sooo good. It was a gull new experience 💚
The homies and I were just reminiscing on this game, so underrated, I started with infamous two and then went back to infamous one, and it just made unraveling the plots even more fun, such a unique game, and just super fun
Saw the game's video on TV and got it a month after launch played this game so many times, evil was the fun part of the game better powers and the red look was great, best thing about the game was upgrading your powers that you needed to go into the sewers and the karma that you chose changed your powers to Blue or Red and this could be seen in these sewers giving light to your path AMAZING !! oh and don't forget the Credit song !!
Infamous 1 and 2 are two of my favourite games of all time along with Festival of Blood being up there. I never got a PS4 so I never played Second Son and First light but I hope one day they'll get ported to PC.
Oh I remember my first time playing this, it was back when Walmart still had ps3 demos. Infamous was the demo I played and started off with the train mission. It was a hooking experience. I would rent it at blockbuster whenever I could and when I best it, what a plot twist. You're the good guy but also the bad guy. Very well done.
Though the first one is no doubt nostalgic for me (I was in middle school when it came out), It never quite grabbed me as I felt it did other people. The second one, and even more so the third, I absolutely loved though.
When this came out I was in my early 40’s. I considered it to be a fantastic game that did everything right, like a great comic book story line that I could actually be the hero in.
I used to play it on a kiosk at London Drugs, I couldn't get enough and eventually bought it. Whenever I think of this game, I always hope for a rerelease. This was my favourite in the whole series.
infamous 2 was the first M rated game my mum ever let me get, I was in that weird phase of still playing skylanders while all the other kids were playing call of duty. I remember playing infamous everyday after school when I first got it. I never played the first one which I regret doing now but Infamous 2 was the first game I fell in love with and its what really got me into gaming.
This game came few months before Arkham Asylum, so in terms of superhero games this as one of the best. Loved the graphic novel feel of it and the Karma system. Infamous 2 I still go back and play, best of the series imo.
I miss when developers cared more about story and gameplay with passion and love into the project rather than online multiplayer/micro transactions. 2009 was a hell of a year for gaming, it’s a shame that games like this aren’t made anymore.
The problem is major game makers are as you said, but most indi devs don’t know anything about business and tend to be neglectful when it comes to fixing bugs and smoothing their games out. So they’re clunky and buggy and gamers just get impatient and stop supporting them.
Such a meaningless comment. There are PLENTY of story rich games right now too, maybe stop foucusing on the MP games and you will see the bazilion SP games.
With the online portion of Ghost of Tsushima, called "Legends", Sucker Punch proved they are still the same company that made Infamous 1. Unlike some other companies who have lost themselves, ehm, dogfood!
I recently had my Internet upgraded which means my ps plus cloud streaming is finally working as it should so a took a look and was excited to see infamous was on there. Started it 5 days ago so this video was perfectly timed, nice to feel like I had someone to talk to about the game. Thanks.
This was an amazing part of my childhood. It had a dark tone to it that I loved. It was so interesting to explore the good vs evil choices and how it had an actual affect on gameplay. I also had a good time showing my friends all the cool powers I unlocked. It was so satisfying to get a new power, a new way to use electricity to get around or to use in combat. The game made you feel incredibly powerful yet still provided enough challenge to keep you engaged. The second game was also amazing although the third one was cool I liked the first two more. I hope we see more games like this soon. There hasn't been anything quite like the Infamous games.
I absolutely love the Infamous games. I'll admit that I've only played the most recent one with Delson and Fetch, but I absolutely loved it. It was one of the first games to make me feel something on an emotional level and connect with the characters. I haven't played the earlier games, but I have all the respect in the world for them starting this journey, and I'd love to see a new one someday.
The most recent one was solid and didn't deserve the hate it got, but I'd still confidently say it's the worst of the series which is saying something. If u can u should check out the first 2, they're amazing! And like the other comment said, the DLC for 2 was phenomenal
man i remember walking into bestbuy and i saw the demo, it blew me away just making cole climb up building and using the rails to move fast it was amazing. i really do hope we get another game in the future.
when I was youger, me and my dad used to have this jailbroken PS3, we would frequently take trips to the local rental place and rent like a bunch of games and then copy all of them to the console. I have this vivid memory of me in that shop looking at the cover of this game and knowing nothing about but still picking it up because it looked so cool to me. great times really.
Back in the day me and my best friend used to play the floor is lava in infamous. We made a rule that we had to make risky and cool jumps while freerunning over buildings. This game will always be special for me ❤

I always remember playing my 2nd playthrough (evil), choosing to save Cole's girlfriend over the group of civilians only to find out they put her in with the civilians anyway! :')
@@Curlyapexwait so she’s also dead in the good decision?
@omariinc.6073 yeah, when you choose to save her, you take the bag off her head and its a civilian. Cuts to her screaming as they drop the group of people. Was gutted when I played it 🤣
I just did the same thing today for the 1st time for Infamous 2 in 2024. Good first then Evil immediately hahaha
👌
How did u feel about "Second Son?"
I did kind of feel like second son was booty and a step or two backwards from Infamous 2 which is really strong and still holds up
Some companies have that in their DNA.
👌
Same except I never got it :/
I was around 14 I recently beat the game again probably a few years ago and still holds up as probably one of the best stand-alone franchises to date
yeah but the aiming stinks
Same but it was my brother who did that
I'm pretty sure I remember playing a demo for Infamous 2 at the same time as playing the demo for Arkham City, and I just became amazed by this cool superhero that I went back and played Infamous. It became one of my favourite gaming franchises - at an age where I didn't care for the story I just wanted cool powers. And then a few years later I remember going back and actually taking in the story and just being amazed all over again.
yea I have the exact same experience
Me too! Both demos!! I remember the Arkham city menu screen was badass!
Just some up my childhood
You know what's funny, I still play infamous 1 and 2 to this day
Exact same experience except they gave away Infamous 1 for free because of an psn network outage back in the day, and I loved to play the Arkham Asylum demo. Ps3 was so fucking goated man.
This took me back. Probably my favorite video game franchise growing up. I played through those first 2 games like 30 times each and never got tired of them
I can be tested on the dialog literally
I’ve played that first one so many times. It was the first game I got on the ps3 for whatever reason but I loved it. Never finished the 2nd one tho
Lol same
I'll NEVER understand why this series wasn't remastered, it's beyond amazing
I actually don't think it should be remastered. A lot of stuff wouldn't really hold up well. The binary karma system is bad, the world is really grey and boring and like he said in the video the climbing is a bit floaty and not particularly fun. I did however despite all this love the game when I played it way back. The core idea is great and deserves another chance. What I think it needs is a reboot. Cherrypick what was great from the first two games and repackage it after what you've learned in the past years. And keep the music exactly the way it was.
@@Prahlis92 hmm deserves a remake rather than a remaster if you know what i mean
Theres so many games stuck on the ps3 that deserve a remaster imo... at least dead space is getting one
I think it needs a soft reboot
Infamous is a lot of fun and very addictive. It's one of those very few games where I find myself saying "Okay, just one more side mission then I'll shut it off" only to keep playing for another couple hours.
Infamous did the same to me. If you got the time try out Spider-Man, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, all of them are like that. It’s kinda magic 🫶🏼 Love those types of games - pure fun and good memories. ❤️
They grab you and don’t let you go until you finish them. Without annoying you, like online games, when people get sweaty. 😂
Agree
I would love a complete remaster of infamous 1 & 2. But a remaster of everything from the ground up. Maybe new mechanics, enemy types and just more overall variety in everything.
hell yes
So a remake😊
Stop it with the remakes and remasters, just make a new game.

Me too, I remember how hyped I was
Exactly the same for me!
Exactly
I also chose this a free game after the hack took down the PSN
Regretted not buying Infamous with my PS3 back in 09, MGS4 had me back then haha
Bought Infamous 2 day one an Second Son (before I even had a PS4)
One of my favorite series
The fact our in game actions had consequences in the game goin forward: citizens helped or hunted you, separate powers as well, finding all the blast shards haha
ah the infamous hackening, I member
Anything infamous related instantly catches my eye. I love this series hands down one of the best superhero games to exist
Bro same, saw the notification and I jumped on it, this series needs either a remaster or a new game that’ll catch all PlayStation players off guard
Big big facts
Infamous 1&2 and Prototype 1&2 are in my top 10 of all time
@@bpmcmanson8701 they're awesome games! Second son wasn't as good still really liked it but infamous first light went back to the grotty drugged world and I preferred that game to second son
Infamous and prototype were two of the few most memorable ps3 games in my opinion. Plus they were super fun to play.
👆🏻
They NEED to remaster prototype 😭
@@Ohbigrich it's on the playstation store n steam still, holds up p well, especially the second one
True. I'm patiently waiting for more of those.
Disagree.
the original infamous was one of my favourite games growing up, it was a unique story and package, i loved the electricity powers and how much variety the devs put into your abilities as well as the ability to make good or bad choices in significant situations.
👌
The game was awesome. Take the parkour of Prototype combined with Starkiller with only lightning powers, no saber and dump them in a modern American city and presto. How could anyone not love this???
Me too, though for me personally I really wasnt a big fan of second son at all, the powers, the protagonist or the story, none of it was good for me, Infamous 1&2 were where it was at...... I sincerely hope they make another one, preferably as good as the first 2
As guilty. Hours in front of my TV. Was late to work and gotten suspended for a day. 😳✅💯😂😂😂
@@bpmcmanson8701 Totally agree - I never managed to finish Second Son even once. Beat INfamous 1 & 2 at least twice each, playing the first time as good and the second as evil and seeing the alternate endings for each story element. The plot twists on the story beats and the finale - for both games and both "karma" - were awesome
I even loved the DLC for 2, where Colt turns vampire and needs blood instead of electricity...I don't remember it well, but I remember being amazed how fun it was despite reusing the same map and just remixing powers.
I’d use that too lol I’m sure you could pull off special attacks being creative if I remembered correctly
I guess it made a bit more sense in Second Son, where you'd get a smoke source if the cars blew up?
@@bigaj6901 That's true, though I'd argue that a videogame doesn't "have" to make sense at the expense of fun. Sometimes it's more fun to just fall into the suspension of disbelief, and let them do whatever with the game mechanics, as long as it makes the gameplay more fun.
Haha I'd do this too! Came in real handy in a pinch - esp in the blackout areas where electricity sources were hard to come by
@@FFKonFire Thing is, it wasn't anything "running", it was just anything metal.
Ikr
Infamous 1 and 2 were the best superhero games ever, I loved running around the city gliding, sliding on the telephone lines and electrocuting stuff. Infamous 2nd son was good but it felt lacking in some ways. infamous 1 and 2 just felt better more captivating and always made me want to come back n keep Playing. Sucker punch is going amazing and I can’t wait for Ghost Of Tsushima 2.
a big part was the graphics for me, I loved the comic art style from 1&2, in fact, seeing this video, the art style has held up extremely well and still looks great imo. Second Son's map felt small and not very well laid out
I'd say every Arkham Game is better but I definitely think InFamous is close
@@Itz_Hybrid Arkham was ok, I never liked the single button combat, while it looks impressive, it became very repetitive. I think the morality system, combat and populated worlds, elevates inFamouse to a higher tier, but that is just my preferences
@@efrinzorlon16 that's understandable. I think what gives arkham the edge for me is something I can't fault infamous for but it's about an already existing character with a huge rouge gallery
Also cause Cole was a better character overall
Seeing how games are released nowadays it's actually amazing how Infamous was an open world game with so many small details and you could completely enjoy it directly from the CD.
No? GTAIV was the same generation.
cd? ps3 used blurays
Love these games. The Kessler twist was really well done, and the karma system really made it worth doing two playthroughs of each game.
im want new infamous game 😭😭😭😭😭
Same! And one more like the comic style of the original 2. Second Son was great, but the story was only a fraction of the quality.

Good English there my g
But you need to study English.
You better want a english dictionary.
That’s sort of where I thought the ending of Infamous 2 was going, I desperately want them to continue Cole’s story in one way or another
Kuo had the ice powers in InFamous 2
So the Bad Ending would be canon
Prototype was sooo good
Prototype was definitely one of my favorite games.. I loved accusing the other army guys of being the monster lol
@@KillaMilla0513 I loved going through the army bases and slowly stealth killing and accusing the army guys until I absorbed everybody.

Or at least a decent protagonist. Delsin really didn't hold a candle to Cole and having him as Cole's effective successor just didn't work.
Yes that would complete my life
I got infamous for free as part of the free games you where entitled to when PSN where hacked(anyone remember that?)and made unavailable for weeks(iirc) and absolutely loved it. It felt so fresh back in the day and it's just a blast to play. The sequel was amazing too.

Glad you enjoyed it
I dont thinks its really being forgotten about

I remember playing this in May 2009 and then switching with [Prototype] that released the following month. What a blast that was!
I remember Sly Cooper and Infamous 1 and 2 being a major part of my childhood. I still have memories of playing certain missions and parts when I was 9.
Yooooo. I loved the infamous series! Hyped to see literally anything on it nowadays!
Yo 👌
I loved how the story transition over from infamous 1 into infamous 2. That made both games so special to me. The only way I got into infamous is Because of the hack in 2011 when they gave some games away for free. I miss those days so much its ridiculous.
Thank god for those hackers otherwise we would’ve never got those copies of infamous 😂
...the timing for this video...I decided to finally play the evil side of Infamous a month ago to get the platinum trophy! Boy was it trip to replay this game.
Simple, direct to the point. It's something that seems to have stayed true in all of Sucker Punch's games. Along with the floaty/magnetic traversal mechanics! And I love their games for that XD
Keep on keeping on SP!
Amazing commentary Jake! Made me really think and realize what this team accomplished. When they didn't have much to go off as far as presentation and gameplay. And we'll look what they created from their minds their brains out this all together. Jeez what a concept. I love it
Thanks
I recently just played through all 3 mainline games as I realized I hadn't played any of the games since I beat Second Son when it first came out. I remembered loving 2 the most but after going back? The first is probably my favourite. Now there are some parts that haven't aged well (the climbing controls in particular can be abyssal...) But that dark tone of the original and Cole being either, a man who gave into his base desires or a man who tried his best to make a change, was just a more interesting narrative than the Cole who laughs at the word "Duty" in the second game.
However, still a great game series. Would love to see a remake or new entry into the series someday.

I still remember playing the demo for the first game and how much fun I had fun with that game. Thanks for bringing us back fond memories.
I still haven't found a game that brought me as much amusement as this one. Infamous 2 had a lot of cool additions that really made things so much more fun but I still remember unlocking the final ability and taking out an entire group of enemies with one lightning strike
👌
It would be cool if we could get an infamous, Ghost of Tsushima sequel, or Sly game before the end of the PS5 lifespan.
Please do infamous 2! I love this game! They really do not get enough love, just replayed it a little while ago and it still holds up mostly

I have so many memories in this game this, it was amazing every time I see him pushing stuff away I can always hear the shock wave sound.
Great video, Infamous really stuck with me the 2nd one and Infamous Son not so much, the first one was truly special for that time.
2009 was a great year for "Hero" games; inFamous and PROTOTYPE really was right up my alley. Both had excellent premises, decent-to-good writing, and were executed perfectly in terms of pace and gameplay :D
Suckerpunch has really evolved since the first inFamous but I'd hope to see a reboot with Cole McGrath back as the (anti)hero.
I think it was my first game that did that
It was fun as hell, THATS why it was a big deal
Just started playing the og ones like 4 days ago and I miss them 😢

Infamous 1 and 2 are two of my favourite games of all time along with Festival of Blood being up there. I never got a PS4 so I never played Second Son and First light but I hope one day they'll get ported to PC.
Oh I remember my first time playing this, it was back when Walmart still had ps3 demos. Infamous was the demo I played and started off with the train mission. It was a hooking experience. I would rent it at blockbuster whenever I could and when I best it, what a plot twist. You're the good guy but also the bad guy. Very well done.
Man now I wanna play Infamous again! That was such a kick ass game and so was Infamous 2. That's it we need a rerelease of those two games.
I do remember playing a bit of Infamous when I was younger at my friend's house, I did enjoyed it
I would sooo love new Infamous and Prototype games for the next gen
My first ps3 game , and boy I still remember that feeling playing it , that wow feeling . 😢 you brought back memories
You gotta do a video on Second Son. I logged so much hours into that game and the variety of switching up the powers was super great as well.
I played all 3 including the festival of blood expansion for 2. I thought second son (the delson one) was pretty meh compared to the others
The most recent one was solid and didn't deserve the hate it got, but I'd still confidently say it's the worst of the series which is saying something. If u can u should check out the first 2, they're amazing! And like the other comment said, the DLC for 2 was phenomenal
Second son was my first platinum and really loved it!
man i remember walking into bestbuy and i saw the demo, it blew me away just making cole climb up building and using the rails to move fast it was amazing. i really do hope we get another game in the future.
when I was youger, me and my dad used to have this jailbroken PS3, we would frequently take trips to the local rental place and rent like a bunch of games and then copy all of them to the console. I have this vivid memory of me in that shop looking at the cover of this game and knowing nothing about but still picking it up because it looked so cool to me. great times really.
It's time to bring this series back..
👆🏻
i hope they make another one, one day
Back in the day me and my best friend used to play the floor is lava in infamous. We made a rule that we had to make risky and cool jumps while freerunning over buildings. This game will always be special for me ❤
👌👌
Oh man, I remember playing Infamous 2 on my PS 3 and it was such a vibe time playing this game as a kid
