I was bought a Tamiya Super Sabre back in like 1987 by my dad and I still have it. I quickly upgraded from the initial 7.2V nicad pack to a 8.4 V nicad pack and the motor was changed to a quad magnet motor, also I changed the gearing. During my 2-3 years playing with it I broke so many of the tubs & front bumpers on it. But the design on this looks identical, same suspension, body attaching points, tires, wheels etc.
With the red tinted windscreen, alloy wheels, and those red wheel nuts it looks awesome! Personally I prefer the Boomerang, it was my first proper RC kit after all.....
happy new belated new year mate . hope ya good ? i’ve got the sabre to build next . can’t wait . looks awesome. gonna go Torque tuned as the sand running just overheats the faster motors in summer 👍
Hiya Dom HNY to you as well, hope your well. Sounds like a good plan to go with torque tuned motor , there pretty ideal for running Tamiya cars in general . Look forward to seeing it , enjoy your build
I build a boomerang as my first Tamiya and did a quick test drive last week and all was good. Took it to my local park to blast around in the grass. Lost 3 dog bones and it now won't turn left and the front gear box is binding. Am I annoyed, yes. Will I fix it and keep running it cuz I'm hooked....also yes!
Very nice Andy! It looks really cool with the red tint on the canopy and the really sweet wheels! Thanks for all the great videos with some really awesome RCs and all the hard work. I am looking forward to seeing what this new year has in store! Happy New Year and wishing you all the best for 2024!
I forget the sabre has shorter shocks. It just felt a little better to drive , not much in it. I didnt think it was any worse at jumping than the boomer , maybe that’s my driving ;)
Hi there sorry for the late reply , the first m.chassis were a narrow fit for batteries , for a nimh 7.2 pack try a 3600mah or a 4000mah at a real push , safe bet a 3600 maybe a voltz rc pack etc

Looks great Andy! Can't wait to build mine!
Thank you very much , I really like it, the super sabre just looks very cool and if it’s time which I like
Enjoy your build ;)
Very nice Andy , goes well with that motor. I'm halfway through mine at the moment. Happy New Year by the way x
Happy New Year! that's a good-looking Super Sabre.
That is a good looking Super Sabre!
MMM sure knows how to make nice rims, i have a set on one of my Lunchboxes. 👍
100% they do make some cracking alloy parts. Cheers for watching glad you like how the Sabre turned out ;)
nice wheels Andy, I do prefer the Boomerang, its my favourite of the hotshot family
Thanks very much Simon, I’m the other way I prefer the sabre but it’s basically the same car ;) cheers
Great video - definitely a fan! Happy New Year’s to you and your family 🎉
Love Tamiya. That design with the red and silver...looks like it belongs in a Road Warrior knock-off type movie from the 80's.
Looks great. Super sabre would be my choice but I always like the unusual buggies over the scale replicas.

@@andyrobinsonrc2480 yeah i’ve been upgrading the fleet to tt. the sports tuned just gets to hot on the sand. and the tt is a good priced upgrade 👍

Super saber and thundershot are my favorites unless you consider the big wig part of the family
awesome rc and cool run
Have a great new year Andy and family
Super Sabre all day Andy it’s a beauty!!!
Those wheels ♥ Super Sabre over the Boomerang for me for sure.👍
Alloy wheels look sweet as, i still think it needs a wing 🤔 just seems to be missing something ?
Happy new year Andy to you and yours.. enjoyed that one!!.. looking at mine in the box ready to build!!!
Super sabre has a lower centre of gravity with shorter red shocks..and yes it handels a lot a better than a boomerang except for jumps

Happy New Year Andy, all the best for 2024 buddy. Those wheels and the red tinted windows really work well 👍
Any ideas for a NiMH battery for a Tamiya M02 Chassis. Just got 135mm length and it's to big need 130mm max really.
