Great advice and nice video 👍Im back running since Jan 1st after an 18mth break with a 0 - 5k plan.. I have had 5 parkrun PB's in a row from 26.50 to 22.36 at the weekend. I've mainly been working on the endurance over the last few weeks and got to 16k yesterday at 5.35 pace, maybe a bit fast for an easy Sunday run.. Going to work on your advice with the short reps in training and better than target pace, makes perfect sense. I'll come back to you on the progress... I'm 43, so not sure what is a realistic time without injuring myself. I suppose the main thing is I'm back and really enjoying the running bug 🏃♂️
Outstanding work Paul and very well done having dropped that 22:36 5K.You are fit brother. It sounds to me like you are doing the right amount of training at the proper intensities. Keep me updated on your progress.
Hi Nathan. I have taken your advice on quality sessions over quantity to chase my 5k PB. I am already feeling confident. Wanted to know: 1. how often should I do the 5k time trials to track my progress 2. How often should we have the recovery week where we cut down the weekly mileage to around 60-70%. Should It be once after every 3 weeks or 4-6 weeks? 3. During the recovery week should we do any speed work or all the miles should be at easy pace?
