I finally picked up the game Dale. Got to say I'm loving it so far. I hope you're doing well my friend and thanks for all the great videos you've done.
I've been putting off learning this game. Finally set it up and watched a bunch of your videos. Perfectly taught! Made learning easy. Can't wait to watch some more! Cheers Dale!
I got into this game in a big way. Collected the first few campaigns. Unfortunately I got rid of everything and took up Marvel Champions instead, which I prefer as a solo player. But this is an absolutely fantastic game and I am glad you are making a video on it.
Thank you Dale! I had watched a couple vids by other youtubers to learn how to play this, but your explanation clicked with me the best and cleared up some points of confusion.
@Alexander Thanks for watching and subscribing! With limited playing time, I tend to get straight and to the point even if it does cause sanity loss. ;)
Thanks for posting this. I have the game sitting on my shelf, never got into it... But with the virus and being stuck at home, I'm going to give it another shot after watching your videos!
You just starting your AH journey? I always thought this game looked boring when watching vids... then I bought the obligatory two core sets and I was instantly hooked... one of my all time favs.
I've been loving this game since SUSD's Marvel Champions review where they indicated the Arkham Horror LCG was their preferred LCG. Looking forward to seeing this series!
The leveling up mechanic does give this an edge over Marvel Champions and the fact that Arkham Horror has been famous for being brutal, I don’t expect to have a high win percentage on any of Fantasy Flights games in this world. :)
Thank you Dale, your helpful vids has been a great resource for myself getting into gaming. I have followed your series with Marvel Champions and now about to take on the task of learning Arkham Horror.
Hi Dale. Thank you for this. The newest version of this game is coming out in Oct 2021. I’m using your vids to asses whether this is for me. I am impressed with your presentation, explanation, lighting, camera work, and general know-how. Can I ask, how many times have you played this game? It seems it is a time and money investment. Is this something that you would have gone “all-in” were you not a videographer? Thank you. I have subscribed.
@Gr1m Ace Fantasy Flight has 2 living card games that mechanically work very similar, this one, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel Champions. I went all-in on Marvel Champions, but it could have easily been this game too (and LOTR). Good system, lots of fun. I think going all-in on one is not a bad idea. Enjoy! :)
So cool. Totally forgot you were doing this!!!!! Was checking out prices last night. Gotta be light and campaign, and this is great for the lockdown. Me n the old lady stuck at home w/ juggernaut dungeon crawls. But pathfinder card or Arkham card seem easy.
@Gabriel Rogriguez I currently use two brands, Fantasy Flight Games sleeves (which are currently discontinued but I have a lot left over) and Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves for my heavily used games. Once my supply of FFG sleeves runs out, I'll probably be going to Sleeve Kings. Hope that helps! :)
Ok I'm really excited for this game. However I'm learning Eldritch Horror at the same time. Is this a mistake? I'm already finding it hard to follow. What if there is no monster for the first round, as you added one for show?
@FLOOD Kevin It's a fun game, and pretty much different takes on the same world. While playing, if there isn't a monster in play, count your blessings, you'll find one shortly. So there is some time for exploring and building up, take advantage of those moments. Happy gaming and try not to lose your sanity! ;)
@@DaletheCasualGamer haha thanks Dale! Already feel the horror digging at me. I'll just run through this a few times and hit the rulebook like it's elementary :-)
@Henrique Ribeiro Honestly, it's pretty much the same. Arkham Horror has quite an extensive FAQ very much like Marvel Champions. I'm still shocked Marvel Champions has all the items still open to interpretation for a game that basically on it's 3rd version (Lord of the Rings, Arkham Horror, and now Marvel Champions). Even with that said, as a cooperative game ... I think those interpretations can be made for each group to have a great game play with any of those games. I do believe the rulebook for the revamped core box does include rules revisions from the FAQ, so that was great to see. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching! :)
@Stephen Poulin If you are looking for a bunch of game play with just the core box, I think you'll get you moneys worth but the real catch is buying all the new scenario packs. Just one box is needed for 1 to 2 players. You'll only need a second box if playing 3 or 4 players, or if you want access to all cards for both decks. I'd play the core game again with others, I just wouldn't make certain decisions since I may already know the answers and "hidden" information. Hope that helps!
@@DaletheCasualGamer Awesome, thanks for the info.....How do you rate this against other Cooperative or soloable games? where does this one rank for you? Sorry for all the questions...I got out of work early today LOL :)
@Stephen Poulin lol ... glad you got some extra time to start the weekend! Many solo gamers put this near the top of their lists. I enjoy it ... but you can probably tell from my channel, I might enjoy another Living Card Game (LCG) a little more. ;) As with any LCG, expect the need, or desire, to keep buying more content. The scenario really gets you vested in your character and the story. I've only played it solo and two players. I play too many games, so long scenario driven games is typically a turn off, especially when trying to get the same group of players together (for me) ... but there is always exceptions. So to sum it up, it's a top rated solo/coop game and worthy of that title. Personally, I currently don't feel the need to go all-in on this one, as I'm getting everything for Marvel Champions ... so the answer for anyone else would be, do you prefer the Marvel theme or Cthulhu mythos? Hope that helps, and enjoy your early day off!!
@@DaletheCasualGamer thanks! I'll keep eye for it, I'm going to try my first game. Would you recommend I play as two investigators or just one to start?
Some packs are harder to find than others. So if you're a completionist (like me) then getting all packs for each scenario may be an issue, but getting a core set and jumping in the latest cycle shouldn't be a problem. I fear it's going to be addictive ... and drive me further insane. Just what I need. :D
Can anyone explain to me WHY the Mythos phase is the first phase, instead of the last? This has got to be the most illogical design decision I have ever seen.
Man, I can't thank you enough for this and the series, the most helpful series of videos to understand and get started.
@Jason Kirkner Thanks for watching, and have fun not losing your sanity! ;)
@@DaletheCasualGamer haha no doubt about that!

Best explanation I have seen yet. My girl and I just got this, excited to play, but needed a good video.
Thanks, much appreciated! Hope your first “investigation” goes well! :)

There’s been many comparisons of the two ... but I’m predicting some sanity loss from this one. :)
THANK YOU! Just jumped on board the Arkham train, and you have made this super easy to understand!
Just got into board games in the past month and your channel has been an amazing resource with every one I try. Thanks Dale!

cant wait to see more of this!
Unless I go fully insane, there will be more. ;)
New subscriber. Love how your playthroughs are simple, straight to the point.

Very good . I feel more interested to play the game. Still I have more questions. But your tutorial is good enough to begin. Thanks
Im glad you did this Dale! Thank you!

@Galvin V May Arkham Horror not take all your sanity! Happy gaming! :)
Thanks for this , it cleared a few bits in the rules I was not sure about , always harder when learning solo ….
@Oz33y Good luck in your game ... and keeping your sanity! :)
Really enjoy your videos. Great way to learn the game. Thanks so much for making them!

this by far my favorite lcg right now you gotta play the carcosa cycle :D

your going to enjoy the core campaign as well :)

I use dragon shield clear matte sleeves. :)

can you dodge an enemy engaged with you (and not at your location)?
If you are engaged with a monster, unless it's a set or card I haven't played yet, it is in your location.
