Great channel. To be honest, I listen to these as I’m going off to sleep or when I’m working and I still seem to take it all in. Can’t tell you how helpful it is for helping me rest! Thank you!
No slight on existing W40k content creators who are also excellent in their own way but to me for sheer professionalism this channel is easily head and shoulders above the rest. I mean these vids put a lot of official GW content to shame. Truly my favourite W40k content creator. Keep up the great work!
Good writing... They can't even get the basic numbers right, 500 Marines died of a single company, when a company has only +/- 100 Marines in total. If they can't get even the basics correct, then how much of it is head cannon as well...
More 40k redemption arc storylines/legends, please! The fall + liberation of Damnos has been a terrific repeat listen, and one of my favorites from your channel!
Thank you! Redemptive tales are always quite fun. Whilst it's not necessarily a story of redemption, the sequel to the Mortarion video will be focused on the tragic aspect of his life, so I hope it scratches a similar itch? If not, there will be more redemption to come (hopefully). At some point I'll do a blood ravens quadrilogy/septilogy/whateverilogy to tale their story, and imo that one is most certainly a story of redemption.
Holy crap a 49 a minute video from the best channel on UA-cam! Plus one I didn't have time to watch when it came out! My lucky day, time to get the paints out.
The reader / anouncer is truely easy to hear listen to & follow : Excellent emphasis & pronouncements, great learned english reading Truly joyful to behold!!!
I honestly watched both of these videos instead of watching tv or playing games. This had me glued to my phone and that never happens. Time to watch every video
I try to keep my own ideas out of the story content (if that makes sense), so the progression of both Damnos 1+2 were both sourced from the Damnos ominbus, as well as from one of the campaign books from GW. I do embellish some of the emotive parts, or condense key plot-points for the sake of brevity, but I'm aiming to keep these all as lore accurate as possible. That being said, I don't write them with the novel on hand, since I have a fairly good memory of them, so it's more like recounting a historical event almost?
00:00 "across the galaxy" Man I'm so stoned but it's just so good 😭😭💜💜 the voice is just soooooooo good and you write it sooooo well the video started and I immediatly said "FUCK yea it does" for no reason 😂😂
Only do that drug my friend. As someone who has made bad choices. To me Pot is the only drug that has not f ed my life. It goes hand in hand when painting your army's to. Cigarettes' on the other hand .. not good makes me tired and the head rush makes me want to not paint lol plus have to wash hands after.
Gosh you make such wonderful things. If you're taking requests, I'd be really interested learning another wild story or two connected to tzeentch. Thanks for all your hard work! ❤
Thank you! I'd like to do a proper video on magnus (last Tzeentch vid was obviously quite Ahriman-centric), so the cyclopean will probably get some more love in the future. I'd also like to cover the idea of sorcery in far more depth, and then obviously at some point I'll get onto doing some of the units from each faction, so Tzeentch is on my mind, and I'll try and get to working on some more chaosy stuff soon.
Well, they were basically "harmless herbivores" feeding on star energy. Only later did they started nom-nom-ing on souls. And it's not like the warp is full of....OH..OOHHH !!!!
I'm not sure which would be more terrifying. Finding out you're going up against a C'tan shard construct or seeing Flayed Ones clawing out from under you.
Forges of Mars has a little insert about Damnos, mentioning Sicarius was so livid about the loss he took that he almost wouldn't address any guardsman or marine even while furiously training after he recovered.
(Edit: “Narrator: AI” wow… not even mad. Hard to believe but if a well written script can be elevated higher then go for it.) Your narration ability is phenomenal
Aren’t there only 1000 Astartes max in the ultramarines? Seems like even with guardsman they would need more chapters to help retake a core world of the Necrons.
Iv always imagined the necrons seeing the mechanicus like an old man see his neighbours cat that pisses on his fly screen door. Hear me out just imagine an elderly necrons wakes up has a stretch. Makes hims self a cup of coffee he walk out to his porch, picks up his news paper then goes to sit in his rocking chair only to find a cat poo on it. He turns around in anger and locks eyes with his neighbours cat on the corner of the porch. He calls out for missies to get his gauss flayer
I feel that breeding your super soldiers to 'Never give up no matter the odds' might not always be the best option, knowing when you're defeated allows for retreat and consolidation as well as rethinking your strategies.
Ya but they are also bred to obey orders without question like machines. So it ends up being a case of never give up…unless your commander says so. Then it isn’t giving up, it’s a tactical advance in the opposite direction
@@fraziercrawford The Eldar Gods were/are warp beings. The War in Heaven was C'Tan + Necrons vs Eldar + Eldar Gods, so they'd certainly have been aware of the Warp. The rise of the Chaos Gods has certainly changed the Warp dramatically from the heyday of the Necrontyr, but it'd still be familiar to them.
The necrons not having orbital defenses or the tesserect not being to withstand one bolt of energy from friendly fire but yet the monolith is not able to just vaporize all with in its target just seems like some inconsistent power level.

This video was so damn entertaining!
fantastic video! love these longer format stories.
Thank you! More stories to come hopefully!
First time finding this channel. Damn fine story telling.
Thank you! If you'd like more then the Damnos Omnibus goes into far more depth for this story (obviously), so I'd recommend it

Glad you're still blessing us with lore.
Ever a churning factory of lore!
Amazing video thank you!!! Love storys from the different battles more episodes like this 💪✌️💪✌️💪✌️
Thank you! These are fun to write, so for sure there will be more to come
I read this a while back. Solid story, full of hubris and coming to terms.
Indeed, it's a fun one from that era of the setting

Well, they were basically "harmless herbivores" feeding on star energy. Only later did they started nom-nom-ing on souls. And it's not like the warp is full of....OH..OOHHH !!!!
that is literally the only thing that can kill a c'tan. the warp is anathema to them.

Heretic. Cowardice is punishable by death.
*BLAM*
You are absolutely correct. Faint/false retreat has been monumentally effective in wartime strategies.
The japanese army officers in ww2 would order their troops to turn 180 degrees and march forward instead of saying fall back or retreat

What relationship do the Necron's have with the Warp? Are they aware of it's existence or of the Cicatrix Maledictum?
They went into stasis a little before or right around the formation of the chaos gods, so honestly I have no idea. Hope someone else does?
