Hi Kev. What a fabulous result. You must be well chuffed indeed. Bet you now wish you tackled the job years ago. I’m guilty of having a never ending list of jobs to do, and everyone is at the bottom! Onwards and upwards. 👏👏😀👍
It's always satisfying - to cross another problem off a list ! * Especially if it improves accuracy and rigidity . . . * * not to mention wear & tear on tooling ! ! ! 'Well improved ""MACHING ! "" congrats !
I have a similar Taiwanese Mill/drill made in 1996 [28 years old] checked the spindle last year running out about .0008. I must have 30 plus more years use to go until I need to true it up as you did lol! Thanks for showing all the steps remove, install tips.
It's always satisfying to improve a tool! If I had the space I'd buy your Harrison lathe in a heart beat, they are a god d lathe. Alas I have to be content with what I have.
Gotta love a "Won-Kee" machine. I dod the bearings on mine and I gave a lot of blood stripping it. I did fettle the castings in the head so I didn't have to loose another 3 pints on the rebuild. instead of calling them MACHING's they should call them beaches as mine had half a CWT of casting sand left in it. thanks for a good posting.

Hi Kev. Interesting video. Peerless brand metal working machinery was also sold in Australia in the 70 - 80's from Taiwan. It varied in dimensions between badge names for the mills and pillar drills etc. Quality also varied a bit. I have a Rong Fu pillar drill and the Morse 2 spindle accuracy is spot on. That was one of the better ones. Looking at your mill head they could have at least cleaned up the casting edges a bit ;) LOL. All time I guess and that dictates price. Good result at the end though. Cheers Rob
cheers Rob Great info on the brand, i would have fettled that casting if i had took the taper races out, but the bearings were in great condition, so if not broke don't mend is my moto, plus i'm as tight as cramp🤣 Its actually a great little mill to say its a cheapo tawainese import, it cost me as cheap as chips to buy secondhand about 15 year ago, so had my moneys worth from it. thanks for the info, appreciated see you next time atb Kev
@@MrFactotum I just checked and was surprised to see that Rong Fu and Peerless are still major machinery manufacturers in Taiwan. So the brands live on. Legend :) Cheers Rob

I need a milling machine like that one however you might be a little far away to drive to...I am in Pennsylvania in the US....lol......great video my friend.
@@MrFactotum I have been assembling a small machine shop to support a series of builds. I am starting with a 1928 Morgan Aero MG special. It will be a wooden over steel frame with an opposed twin airplane engine as the powerplant connected through a hand cast aluminum two piece adapter to an MG 4 speed manual gearbox. Then an MG differential with cool wire wheels finishes it off. I will complete the build with airplane cloth stretched over the frame so that it looks like an airplane from the 20's or 30's without wings or a propeller. I will let you know when I do my first video. I am hoping to bring it over across the pond to drive through the old country in the UK...Thank you.
@@MrFactotum Thank you my friend. I found a drill press/tapping station from the 1940's that will come in handy. I may make a video on getting it up and running first. It has been in my barn for a few months now. I also purchased a 1950's Bissel tire changing machine and balancer. I also bought a Burke Number 4 milling machine thta needs a work table and restored as well as a Southbend lathe and an old Atlas 6 inch lathe with a huge amount of tooling with it.
