One thing that made me have to switch from the Andar case was actually how pronounced the side buttons are. I hold my phone in a similar fashion and my pointer finger will slightly rub on the side button. This isn't a big deal at first but after a few months of daily use, it became irritating. I find rounded sides of the Bullstrap case are slightly more comfortable in that regard.
Andar aspen is my choice as it gives extra protection at the bottom and the best part is way cheaper than overprice Bullstrap without bottom protection.
Of course Andar Aspen as it has bottom protection. Why should I pay extra in a case of Bullstrap for case without bottom protection? Any case without bottom protection and without MagSafe is not in my possession. #Andar
Bullstrap might provide a free replacement for their phone cases under specific terms and conditions. However, I previously expressed concerns three months ago about the open bottom design of their cases, which left the lower part of my iPhone vulnerable to damage. My stance on replacements might change if Bullstrap introduces a fully enclosed case design in the future. Should Bullstrap begin offering free original iPhone replacements for damage caused by their current case design, I would certainly consider it, as the primary function of a phone case is to safeguard an expensive device like the iPhone. But of course, there’s no chance in hell that Bullstrap will do this. So, I’m not getting Bullstrap until they fix that open bottom design no matter how premium fine grain leather they use as compared to others such as Andar Aspen, Nomad Horween leather, Ryan London. While the look, material, and cost of the case are subjective, its fundamental purpose is to provide protection from drops.
I just received my Andar camel tan. I like everything about this case (fits, feels, look, buttons) and especially bottom protection. But I have to say I like the look of the Bullstrap leather and if it had a bottom protection I would definitely have considered it
Had the Andar on my iPhone 14PM. The Bullstrap on my iPhone 15PM is MILES better in the hand and leather quality, not to mention the lifetime warranty. The Bullstrap reminds me of the original apple leather cases that patina so so well. Will never go back to Andar TBH.
I also returned the Aspen, I prefer the Bullstrap but really hate the Bullstrap logo. Like do these companies hire actual designers or WTH is going on hahaha because that logo placement is just horrible
I ordered two Bullstrap cases for my iPhone 15 Pro and both cases were defective with misaligned buttons and inaccurate cut outs for the buttons. I’ve also seen other videos where the Bullstrap leather has ripples. I currently have the navy Andar Aspen and there’s nothing about it that I dislike. It starts out a little slippery, but becomes grippy very quickly as the leather breaks in.
Just received my first Aspen in jet black today , love the smell of leather , lol . Very satisfied and now waiting for the Andar MAG Wallet to be restocked . Great video also .
You forgot to mention Bullstraps lifetime cosmetic warranty. As someone who keeps their phone 2-3 years that was a big factor for me in justifying their price. Plus I got it during a sale. I have an Andar too and I like it just as well.
I didn’t mention warranty specifically because I was just comparing the cases themselves. Warranty applies to other products that the company sell so I didn’t feel it was necessary to add that into the video. I do mention it in the full review videos though.
I don't know.. for a case that gets dropped a ton, that's a big factor. I get two replacements a year with Bullstrap and when talking about price, that's a huge factor. I was willing to spend the extra because of the warranty. That's a pro for bullstrap, a con on the Andar. @@Brians_tech
Respectfully, you did more than compare the two cases because you mentioned the price differential. When you mention the price differential, it’s only fair to mention the warranty as well because that factors into the price, and ultimately the decision.
I bought both and I returned the Aspen. The main problem with the aspen is that the camera ring feels cheap as fuck. The secondary problem is that the leather feels cheap as fuck. It feels so stiff that it doesn't even feel like leather, feels like particle board or something. Which makes it really slippery and just overall feel like fake leather. The benefits of the bullstrap, however, are that the leather feels soft, like you can press into it a little. That is what I have come to expect of leather, from my leather wallet. So it feels like real leather. And the camera ring is very unique and doesn't look cheap at all, feels great. The other great thing about the bullstrap is how glorious using the gesture bar is with the open bottom. I am addicted to it and would never go to a closed bottom case again. So tired of scraping my thumb along my case when I wanna swipe. The ONLY downside of the bullstrap is the location of the logo. I would've much preferred if it were centered at the bottom of the back of the phone. Being right in the middle of the case looks kinda dumb to me. But it still wasn't enough to turn me off from the case. Actually kinda made me want the Ryan London because I think it has a similar design to the bullstrap but has no logo. But the shipping and everything was a nightmare coming from london so I went bullstrap.
@@theNimbooI have a Ryan London and it’s pretty cheap leather. The top dogs are definitely bullstrap and andar from what I’m seeing bullstrap is the top premium best bang for your buck and I’ve had bullstrap.
I have had Andar for more than a year for my ip14 pm my two problems are first it’s a loose fit, the phone will pop out from one side and have to be aware of that and push the phone back again, second one is the metal part around camera frame came loose and moves damaging the soft leather from inside the case, thinking about trying bull strap but worried that there is no protection for camera bump
I think you might have a defective unit. That doesn’t sound like a normal Aspen. I would contact them. Bullstrap has slight protection for the camera bump. Enough to protect it when laying it down on surfaces.
Just got the Aspen a few days ago. Unfortunately had my first phone drop ever with the Aspen on and the leather tore on the bottom corner. Wishing I had gone with the bull strap to get a replacement.
I respect you for tackling this heated case battle debate 😂. I love both cases, although bullstrap is my personal favorite. I can’t get mad when someone prefers the Andar though. Both are damn fine cases imo 💪🏼
I love my Aspen. I have the dark brown, the camel tan and the technically red. I get comments especially on the red and tan for how dressy they are. You can’t beat it for the price.
I have both in the same colors haha. Gotta say I prefer the feel of the bullstrap and I prefer the open bottom when swiping up. The lifetime warranty for bullstrap will be nice since if the case gets damaged I can get a brand new one or may try to get one in a different color next year.
Both are good quality leather. Aspen has a bit of a coating on it, where the bullstrap has no coating and you feel the leather a bit better, if that makes sense. Bullstrap has a lifetime warranty so they’ll replace the case if something happens to it, which is a huge plus. The Andar is completely closed in and has better buttons. The bullstrap has the bottom open and also has good buttons, but they’re not as pronounced.
I also really love the feeling of swiping on the gesture bar with an open bottom. For me I was considering either super light cases like the PITAKA, naked, or leather. So I’m ok with the Bullstrap’s lack of protection on the bottom because I want to swipe freely and at least I can do it without having to use my phone naked
I got a black Andar aspen and have to say; I've been disappointed. I understand it's full grain leather but it's gotten scratches just from being in my pocket which was never an issue for me back when Apple was releasing leather cases. I'm holding out for another couple months to see if the leather will self heal and allow me to massage the scratches away but I've been very disappointed with how fragile the Andar case has been.
If you want drop protection don't get a leather case. If you want a good leather case but you're on a budget, get Andar. If you want a more premium leather case , get Bullstrap.
Eh I wouldn't really consider the Aspen a "budget case". That price is already getting into premium territory, and it's a great full-grain leather case. I wouldn't say the Bullstrap is more premium than the Aspen, either. The price is more of a premium price, but they're both made from full-grain leather.
@@Brians_tech Very true on not calling it a complete budget case, but feeling them in hand to me atleast the Bullstrap definitely feels nicer. Although I do switch between both. You also can't go wrong with that nice red leather from Andar.
It’s easy to get 10% off the Bullstrap by just leaving it in your cart for a few hours and the Andar is $55, so really ~$26 for a lifetime warranty. That’s what sold me. If I drop my phone and a chunk of leather comes off, I get a new one. I love the leather feel, but realize it’s not the most durable material. I’d only agree if you upgrade your phone every year, it’s probably not worth it though. Bullstrap seems to me to be the better long term, multiple years option.
I managed to get my hands on the new Bullstrap Contemporary Sienna closed bottom case, and gotta say it’s a game changer! I love it! I also love my Andar case as well. The bullstrap one is softer, thicker, and a bit heavier in the hand and the Andar one is a bit thinner and lighter. I don’t plan to give it up. Can’t wait for this thing for this Contemporary Sienna case to patina over time. I do prefer the camera bezel metal ring on the Andar. There is nearly no clearance on the bull strap one. looking forward to you to do a review of the new contemporary case, keep up the great work. I love your videos! 👊🏼😎
@@marcholloway8436Phone drops hit the corners. It would be really hard for a drop to affect that opening. Maybe if you keep your phone in a purse with sharp keys it might be an issue, but that would be cosmetic scratches.
Andar is the nicer leather case for sure. Feels good and grippy like the case is made from leather. The aspen feels like its a plastic case with leather glued to it. The open bottom doesnt bother me but i understand. $90 is steep even with the great warranty though.
why are you comparing the "clicks"? this review is unserious, coupled with the odd method of removing the bullstrap. remove the left and the right bottom corners and pull the phone out from the bottom, you won't have to clean the camera lens or drop the phone onto the table screen down, lol.
