WOW!! Thanks alot! I have an Epson ET-4700. This process worked for my printer as well. I had an order of 36 custom mugs from my mug store. In the middle of the prints I noticed my color as fading HORRIBLY. I've done hundreds of prints without this happening. Your video helped. I cleaned the heads 7 times, performing a nozzle check after each clean. Finally my color was restored. Thanks again!!!

Next, hold the help button and power button when turning the printer back on. It then allows you to perform the power clean cycle. I let mine sit overnight before performing a nozzle check. It wasn't perfect, but my missing colors were back. After printing a couple of pages, everything looks great!

Hi! I came here because like most people, the printing had degraded poorly even though I knew I had ink in my tank. Before trying the distilled water tip for the print head, PLEASE try (if your printer has this option) going to the printing preferences of your printer. There is a maintenance tab with an option of power cleaning (only use this if you are sure you have a decent amount of ink in your printer). It gives two check box options, one to verify levels and the other about only running it again after 12 hours. This saved my butt so hard. Also fyi the power cleaning is also in the options of the physical printer as well. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the helpful video! Just so you know, printing over WiFi should not cause any quality issues. Modern printers today (Anything within the last 5 years) are guaranteed to support buffering of pages and checksum validation. Basically this means that the printer will download the entire page before it even attempts to print it. This is why your printer can take longer to print high quality pictures, because it must download the entire document from your device, communicate with the device to validate that the document received is identical to the one sent, and then process the image in a way that the printer can equate to its physical actions. The printer will either receive a full file, or retry until it receives the full file, and print, or will never print. Those are the only two options with basically any modern SOHO network enabled printer.

It worked for epson expression 970, I did the alignment wrong, and the pictures were coming out blury with smudge marks, after doing the alignment correctly, it fixed the problems thank you

WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS VIDEO HELPED A LOT!!! I was struggling for a while!! and called tech support and it didn't help. I have the EPSON ET 2803 and it worked just doing the printhead alignment setting!! Thanks again my friend!
Thanks! I had to clean my print heads about 6 times before this was fixed for me. This was great info and I have the Epson 2760 with regular ink and the Epson 4700 with sublimation ink....both had this issue!
Thank you so much for the detailed steps! Crafty, I have the 2760 and I’m struggling with all the color in mine only the black works. None of the hacks are working so I might do the power clean 🥺 any advice?? 🤗
This was so helpful! I watched yesterday and I have already posted it on a FB group and sent it to my Dads wife as well. I can't thank you enough for this video!! Especially the hot tip on the wifi vs USB printing!! BIG DIFFERENCE!!
Keep in mind when you run head cleaning, it discharges into the waste tank, and in those printers the waste tank is molded into the bottom of the case and cannot be replaced. You can head clean several times, but you can only power clean 2 times for the life of the printer, but it may be less if you done a regular power clean a bunch of times.
@@Alien2799 It will refuse to run after it thinks the waste tank is full. You can get a cleaning kit to flush out the tubes and nozzles, though. But you are better off trying to print like a whole page of the problem color until you start to see it printing, instead of running a power clean which will try to flush all nozzles into the waste tank. So you will only end up wasting some of one color instead of them all.
@@delscoville You can unscrew the bottom and manually clean the sponges. Its pretty easy. Then I got a 3rd party key that reset the printer's page count so I could keep going.
If you Leave your printer on at all times the ink won’t dry. Inkjet printers run print head tests while the printer isn’t in use, to keep the print heads from drying up.
Since my 2720 is old I went ahead and power cleaned, however before I did that I updated my printer. After both of those my printer is back to working. At first it wouldn't print hardly at all, then after a few nozzle checks and head cleans it would print in black but refused to print in any color at all. I assumed it was clogged because my ink is full. Now it's working again, the purge file came out great as well.
WOW!! Thanks alot! I have an Epson ET-2720. This process worked great had to run the process about 15 times back to work !!!! thank you so much for this video
i just bought an epson 2720 and converted it to sublimation and i want to know if when not in use can i turn it off or do i need to leave it on at all times so the ink doesnt dry up . ive seen mixed answers on this
I wish this video had helped me. It seems thorough enough I can't imagine what else is causing my print problem. I have a 2720 also. It's only printing black and yellow. No magenta or cyan. I have refilled the ink and I'm using Epson's ink so I would think the ink quality wouldn't be an issue.
@@carriebroughton3453 yes so I cleaned the heads about 5 times and then did a print alignment and it’s all good, I was talking with another crafter and she said to do this once a month and I should be fine.
THANK YOU so much for sharing. I was having the same problem and followed your steps and it is working perfectly. Also, I didn’t think about the fact that I need to print at least once a day to prevent the printer heads from clogging. I also think my ink is not the best so I’m interested in trying the one that you recommended. I subscribed To your Chanel and again thank you.
I purchased the 15000 from someone who wasn’t truthful. It was converted to sublimation which wasn’t the issue. The issue was she used some cheap sublimation ink so it took me a while to get it up and running. Because the ink was cheap the images never transferred for sublimation but everything else printed just fine. I decided to “remove” the cheap ink and refill the tanks with a better quality ink. Now the ink doesn’t transfer to the paper so it’s just printing white paper or really faint lines. I called a printer technician and he said the print head might need to be replaced. Because the repair cost (in my head) was more than purchasing a new printer, I bought a 7840. I watched the videos and converted it but it has yet to print anything on the paper. It is doing the exact same thing: printing on white paper or really faint lines.
I have an epson 2720 converted to sublimation. After converting it, it is only printing blank paper. I have done the cleaning process more than five times and still blank papers . Any way you can help me out with this. Will much appreciate it. Thank you
Oh thanks so much for this video, I was worried about wether or not, I was going to have problems with my ET-2720, I set it up and used it a couple of times and then was discouraged because I was doing the sublimation wrong, but I just did a few of the things you recommended and I did fix a couple of things and but one thing I didn’t have to worry about was the ink, no clogs what so ever!! I am using Printers Jack ink. It must be pretty good, because if I had to guess, I have printed anything since February and it’s almost June!!
I am using hippo ink. I use my printer just about every day. There might be a day I don’t use it in a week. It has never been stopped up! I have had it almost 2 years!
In the middle of printing two 5x7 "First Aid Kit" signs, my magenta quit working. Then, after running the nozzle check and print head cleaning, I lost yellow and cyan too. I can't tell you how grateful I am for your video because I thought I'd broken something. I resorted to the Power Cleaning when 2 more head cleanings did no good, but I immediately got all of my colors back and was able to print those signs tonight. Happy dance!! Now, if you can tell me how to connect the printer to our laptop via USB, you'll make my husband's day too! lol He despises this printer because it won't work unless both the Mifi and laptop are on, even if he's trying to print from his phone. (My fault for picking this ET-2720, but I had grown tired of replacing half-used cartridges.)
Thank you for your video. I had to run the nozzle cleaning 3 seperate times before my issue was corrected. I also have the Epson ET-2720 and honestly this printer has given me nothing but issues. I print a decent amount of pictures for cricut project purposes, and it has been a piece of crap. Next time I will make a better investment.
YAY!!!! oh my goodness THANK YOU!!! you saved me from throwing my printer across the room!! I have the ET-2720 and this worked perfectly! I did have to do it 5 times but after that my magenta is on point!
Thank you for this video -it’s a life savings! Question, When doing a “Power Clean” it will used a lot of black ink. Where does the ink go? The printer is flushing out the ink but have no idea where it is flushing to? Thank you.
There are two screws that allow you to open the printer so you can access the inside easier. I’ve tried to resurrect a printer just like yours, but even trying to clean the print heads doesn’t get my cyan back. 😢. I couldn’t find your description of good vs bad inks anywhere.
I just opened my Epson printer today and I'm using Hippoo ink. I've printed 5 test pages and everytime my yellow had missing segments. Sometimes my magenta was perfect and sometimes it had segments but yellow was always an issue. I'm not sure what to do at this point as I've done the alignment. I haven't done a deep clean since it's a brand new printer but I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?
Bro I was getting so pissed I was printing fine, j turned my et4800 to a sublimation printer. Then it was just printing blanks. Went to maintenance did nozzle check. Then head cleaning. Did it twice started to print again. First time was missing segments. Thanks man.i was gonna send this printer back to Walmart lol.
I have the ET-2760 and I always have problems getting sublimation paper to print at all. It keeps telling me there's no paper, or a paper jam. It might take me 50 or so tries before it successfully prints. I've searched for hours and can't find a solution for this problem. It prints regular paper with no problems at all.
Great help…I am getting nothing when I print…using Printers Jack sublimation…I’m trying everything…I made a cup a couple weeks ago and today I’m just stuck…
Hi! I know this series started over a year ago, but I was wondering if you can make a video of t-shirt printing with sublimation dye and ecotank printer. I love your videos, they're very informative and helpful. Also, can we convert the Epson Ecotank 2400 to a sublimation printer?
Having the same problem. Using Epsom OEM ink. Deep cleaned print heads three Xs. Printed solid page of cyan 10 Xs. Paper comes out white. Still will not print in cyan. I'm awating a print head cleaning kit from Amazon and will try cleaning print head tomorrow. Printer is 13 months old.
So, I have the horizontal lines that are equal, like you spoke about at :43. I'm not printing by WiFi or draft mode. Any suggestions? I've done all the cleaning, took the air out of the lines and aligned the print heads. Nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you for this video - I was having lines that I kept trying to fix and didn't realize there were so many features. Your video was very helpful. I couldn't find the link for ink you mentioned. Can I please have the brand name ink you recommended? Thanks so much
my printer is printing blank, I've done over 10 nozzle checks, Print head cleaning and even a power cleaning and nothing. I remember that it said that it would decrease the ink during the power cleaning but it hasnt happened. its a brand new printer also
I have a brand new epson et 15000 that I just converted and I noticed when I print a larger image from the tray my print come out with so much ink that it looks like the printer is scratching the ink as it prints but when I print regular 8.5x 11 my prints come out normal . What do you think is wrong when I print using the 13x19 ?
Qustion - what if I did all this and they printer is tell me I have lots of ink but nothing is coming out. I've only had my printer for almost a year (ET-2720) and I use sublimation ink it. It's worked fine in the past but this time it's printing nothing or just little markers. What else can I do?
Just bought a brand new Epson 2803 printer. Used Printers Jack 400ml Sublimation. Instant clogged, broken lines in the black and red color. Already tried cleaning the print heads multiple times. Is Printers Jack, one of the less desirable sublmation inks to use? Thanks.
gosh, I wish I had seen this video before I bought my Epson 2850. I used to help people with their computers and setup back in the 90s and 2000s, and Epson printers clogging if they weren't used every day was a pervasive problem. I thought they might have got on top of that ... but, just now, guess what: my printer's cyan nozzle is blocked. 3 cleaning cycles later - still blocked. Hot damn. Fortunately the 'power cleaning' cycle fixed it. I guess my next printer will be going back to Canon or get a multifunction laser.
Thank you for the video! I'm about to throw mine out the window. I have cleaned the print heads many times, the ink is full and I can barely even see the printing of the diagnostic image... It worked fine and then I didn't use it for a couple of months... Any ideas? Epson 3760... I have orders to fill !!!
Thank you, I am having trouble with the black, I've done everything you said multiple times, when do i give up and trash the printer? It's only a few months old with very little printing. but i haven't printed for a couple months. Any idea when to call it a loss or how many times i should run these diagnostic/cleanings? i added the last of my black ink into the tank and don't want to buy more if this isn't going to get fixed. Appreciate any suggestions
I am now looking at purchasing one of the TANK printers. So far the Epson ET-5170 (AUD$648) & ET-3700 (AUD$547) are the one's I've looked at. Although the 5170 is more expensive, it has one feature that I really need. I am a "card crafter" and I need to use thicker card stock (200gsm+). Some card stock might go through the auto print feed, but a lot won't. Therefore I need a rear manual feed printer. The 5170 does this while the 3700 does not. The problem though is that the 5170 wants "volume" printing to avoid ink tank clogging. Sadly I would be lucky to print 50-100 pages per month. Is there any tank printer that you could recommend in that I need manual feed for high gsm card stock. I want to print high quality as well. I don't mind other brands, but I think the epson are the best out there.
I am a printer tech, the best printer for your application is a color laser printer, preferably an Oki printer. Low volume will not be a problem and the straight thru paper path will solve your paper weight issue. Plus the quality is super great!
I use my ET 3710 for sublimation as well. How do you get it to print so vivid with the sublimation ink. I must be using the wrong settings, as my prints are not that deep in color. I always thought that was just because the sublimation ink was different than regular ink. Can you show me the right settings to use to get the same deep prints you get?
OEM magenta ink ET-2760, just decided to clog one day in between steady use of the printer. Currently, troubleshooting but I cannot think of a reason for the clog unless my printer decided to evolve platelets all of a sudden
Thank you for your video unfortunately didn't fix my problem I did all this but the page came blank , the second page Had a very faint colors, and my printer is Epson ecotank1500 I have a warning sign that my maintenance cartridge is almost full, I have a new one waiting to my printer tell me is time for a change, but I don't know if that is the problem. I don't know if you can recommend something 🙏 please
Thank you! I only just started sublimation printing with my brand new 2760, and I've been using Hippoo brand inks and paper; what is your experience with that one? Also, the paper is quite thick (125g), in your experience will that cause problems as well? Or is that alright?
I know that this video is a year old, but I am hoping that you are still checking these. I am new to sublimation, I am creating tumblers, not for sale, but for family, and I can not get the red to print red when creating my designs. When I download premade, they print bright, but when I make my own, they are not bright, and red is not good in either. How do I fix this? Sorry for all the questions.
I did all the cleanings waited overnight and the black is still off. I’m gonna buy the black ink u listed and refill and see how it goes if not do you recommend replacing black ink head?
The horizontal lines in the printed images are not from bad wifi connection. They are from the drying color or problem somewhere else, but certainly not about wifi connection, data just does not work like this.

Thank you so much for this video. I was doing nozzle check, head cleaning, purge files and got nothing. Completely blank. I did the distill water and that helped. My ink started to flow and after a nozzle check followed by head cleaning all my colors came back. My printer is a l3250 😊
Thank you so much, the problem with my printer resolved. I was struggling for 3 hrs but through your video, I could overcome with problem.
Holy Cow! Printing in high quality just fixed my issue! Thank you so much!!!!!!
It worked for epson expression 970, I did the alignment wrong, and the pictures were coming out blury with smudge marks, after doing the alignment correctly, it fixed the problems thank you
I just watch this video. I was having a perfect print but now my blue ink is coming out yellow. I’m getting ready to run all these maintenance checks and I’ll get back with you. Thanks for yr help
My printer was printing gray for me, and your method worked for me THANK YOU!!!!
Ohhhh mannnn! Thank youuuu!!! I have been working on my laptop and printer for 12hrs over 2 days trying to figure this out. ♥️♥️♥️
Why all my print are coming the wrong color can anyone help
@@delilahc1775 mine are very dull looking
Thank you for this! I hadn't thought about it printing over WI-FI.
Thank you! Between this video and a couple of others, I was able to get my converted Epson working again!
after hours of suffering and almost throwing this one out the weekend. this helps . thanks so much!!
Thank you so much! You’re a lifesaver. My printer started to print the wrong color and I have over 30 orders to get out
Thank you so much . The paper towel with distilled water worked on my ET-2720!! My magenta was not printing at all and now it is :)
Only 2 power cleans for the life of the printer? Seriously? What happens after the 2 cleans? Thank you
@@Alien2799 It will refuse to run after it thinks the waste tank is full.
Hello. Is a reset necessary afterward or just something you did additionally?
@@lovy2thedovy930 If the printer is telling you that you hit your print limit, you will need to find a third party reset key.
If you Leave your printer on at all times the ink won’t dry. Inkjet printers run print head tests while the printer isn’t in use, to keep the print heads from drying up.
Wish I knew this.... mine was off a few months.... was so, so busy with work and school. now I can't get it cleaned. 😢
This is not always true. I never cut mine off yet I’m here because my cyan isn’t printing at all
Mine is always on and my yellow isn't printing at all. Been working on it for 2 hours and tried many different things suggested online.
Thank you!!! I had 1 missing segment after MANY cleanings! Running an alignment fixed it!
Thank you! The purge print worked on colours and the damp paper towel did the trick on my black…ET 2760
Mahalo! Ink is not available here on island. Replacing my printer would be 2-5 day shipping at best. You saved my project!
Mine is doing the same thing and I’ve got a hoodie job due tomorrow.
What ended up happening? My cyan and magenta are also not printing
@@keelseeyy100 also having this issue. Any advice?
@@melissahedges9062 Did you figure it out? Also having this problem
Thank you for this video🎉
Can you cross 2 types of ink?
I have an epson 2720 converted to sublimation. After converting it, it is only printing blank paper. I have done the cleaning process more than five times and still blank papers . Any way you can help me out with this. Will much appreciate it.
Thank you
Did you ever figure it out? Having the same issue
I agree! I’m not happy with this purchase!
YAY!!!! oh my goodness THANK YOU!!! you saved me from throwing my printer across the room!! I have the ET-2720 and this worked perfectly! I did have to do it 5 times but after that my magenta is on point!
What ink are you using I can’t see it
Thank you for this video -it’s a life savings! Question, When doing a “Power Clean” it will used a lot of black ink. Where does the ink go? The printer is flushing out the ink but have no idea where it is flushing to? Thank you.
I’ve had mine for about a year, my last print was week of 12/4/23 now the pages come out blank.
I’m having the same problem
Any suggestions?
thank a lot for this video. You fixed my problem 2:42 into the video. I 'm very happy!
I am having the same issues as you are describing. i am aboout to try your instructions. i will let you know if it is successful ty for the video..
Thank you so much for this video!! followed the steps you showed and my printer is working again
thank you so much for your help I've been trying to deal with this all day, but this video literally helped me out.
Thank you, I did this several times and got it to work!
I have a 2720
@12:30 was helpful for me. Suggestion if you have a clog I had to clean/flush heads twice before I was able to see my cyan start flowing again.
So, I have the horizontal lines that are equal, like you spoke about at :43. I'm not printing by WiFi or draft mode. Any suggestions? I've done all the cleaning, took the air out of the lines and aligned the print heads. Nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you... I was able to fix my printer with this video...
Did all that you suggested but still pink hue to prints. Note printing thru wifi, and high quality paper. Darn. Thank you.
Great tutorial. I have an Epson ET2720. Why does red color fade away after printing.
I had to do multiple print head cleanings before it cleared up works perfect now
Just bought a brand new Epson 2803 printer. Used Printers Jack 400ml Sublimation. Instant clogged, broken lines in the black and red color. Already tried cleaning the print heads multiple times. Is Printers Jack, one of the less desirable sublmation inks to use? Thanks.
For sublimation ink printer, do you need or use sublimation paper or regular paper? I bought sublimation paper and I want to by the epson 2720 soon.
it worked, thanks, I cleaned them first physically and then did what you said n it worked
gosh, I wish I had seen this video before I bought my Epson 2850.
I guess my next printer will be going back to Canon or get a multifunction laser.
thanks for the video , one question. For the paper towel you turn off the printer?
This was so helpful. Thanks for helping me resolve my printer issue!
I'm having the same issues with my black only. Did you end up trashing it? I have way too many lines...and the black has never printed completely
I had to get rid of mine and get another one . It’s so annoying I tried everything
had to clean the nozzle twice but it worked thanks!!!
@@larryburnett9819 Thanks for this reply Larry, I will take a look at the laser printers, in particular the OKI ...
Much thanks I will be needing a new Printer after watching this 😁
Thank you!!!!!! Aligning the heads really works. THANK YOU!!!
This video really helped me a lot congrats you just got a new subscriber!!!
The horizontal lines in the printed images are not from bad wifi connection. They are from the drying color or problem somewhere else, but certainly not about wifi connection, data just does not work like this.
