Since I’m currently in Chainscrape Town & the stupid Pit Master has been holding onto my bow & one of the side quests is that I currently need to use my bow to use but I use it because the idiot Pit Master said he’ll hold onto it but I don’t know how to get it back, could someone PLEASE PLEASE let me know & it’s driving me ALMOST INSANE THAT I CANNOT use it at the moment. This is exactly what I was looking for. Keeping those icons on after you focus will be clutch. They’re hard enough to see as it is, I definitely don’t want them disappear every five seconds. I came looking for that setting specifically but I stayed for the rest and agree that those adjustments are all quality of life changes and definitely not cheesy changes. Great video, thanks man.

@@williamallen7386 Can’t blame you. Between constantly using Aloy’ focus and focusing my eyes, it’s brutal. It’s so hard to see. I feel like that’s all I’m doing is taking 10 steps, hitting focus, and then scanning The environment very slowly.

Check out in setting auto Shieldwing ( automatically deploy your shieldwing when falling). There is also Aim assist setting that can be set to "strong" and the biggest setting is custom difficulty settings. You can set it up for easy loot, auto concentration, auto heal, change the concentration duration, adjust the damage to Aloy and adjust the enemy health.

@@HUYI1 I haven't played in a while I believe it's still in the settings to set it custom difficulty I think you have to change it in the main menu first.
I disagree with the hud being always on, I find it very annoying and in the way especially for a game that’s beautiful and amazing. Yes I do find pressing R3 very annoying which is awesome that they have a custom feature. I completely understand that everyone has different playing styles. Overall this helps a lot. 👍👍
I also turned the easy loot on, helps when I need a specific part to upgrade my weapons/armor so I don't have to run from one machine site to another to get that one part. Before I descovered this setting I fought about 7 frost claws just to get one part (not all at once of course).
@@blursithflow9442 Go to settings in game, set your difficulty to custom, then under that set your difficulty again and there will be the easy loot option, just turn that on.
Ouch. That’s a tough one. But I have encountered not being able to get the drop even with the easy loot on. One example is the Stormbird autocannon. I could be wrong so I’ll check it again. 😊
Yes easy loot on helps a lot when farming for parts. Components that are to be destroyed when the machine is killed is still intact and can be looted. Just be careful for the Fireclaw Sac Webbing though. If you accidentally destroyed the belly of the Fireclaw. You may not be able to loot it even though easy loot is on. For this I just turn down the difficulty settings to story mode just to get that part haha.
It amazes me how many people don't scroll through all settings options before playing. And in two reviews of this game it was mentioned that they got tired of constantly having to use the focus to find hand holds while climbing, and there's an option in settings to permanently highlight them.
Really? Oh man, I think those that review the game and didn't check the settings only focused on gameplay and not the technical part of the game - The Settings. What I know, is that the settings and options area of the game is like a secret area of the game with the entrance to it being there right from the start. LOL 😜
These are good tips, thanks. If you're looking to make another helpful video -- I was looking for a QUICK OVERVIEW of all the stupid keyboard controls. There are so many controls, and which ones you tap vs which ones you hold down, and they change between menus... 🤯 I literally forget how to play if its been a few weeks. 😔

Settings to help in defining your gaming experience. It's always the first thing I check when trying out a new game. The more settings we could fiddle around, the more we can have a better experience... of course as long as the game is worth it. 😃
I just bought this game. And my muscle memory kicks in. 😂 From Zero Dawn. I always play around with settings. This vid is a good guide but yeah it's all personal preferences. If your new to the game. Or this type of game. I do suggest this video.

Great video. Im still having this shimmering texture issue where the vegetation and especially the grass starts flickering while Aloy is moving, and this is on the PS5 and on performance mode. I have the latest patch installed and even restarted the game multiple times and still same issue. maybe it's a optimization bug or something else? Hope there will be a fix
I really hope that too. I'm also having some bugs with the game like I can't start the Fighting Pit in Chainscrape as well as some visual bugs with some of the weapons when I view them on the menu. I believe they are working on some fixes, but some of them might take time. Normally they'd focus on bugs that break the game and experience for players first. 😊
Oh gosh yes I’ve been having this issue too! Been trying to get in touch with the devs on Reddit and Twitter! This is really bad. Can’t believe they didn’t notice it during QA testing
I LOVE the Horizon Games. I have all that are available for PlayStation 4 right now. I do have one question that might not be answered here. Can you change Aloy's weapon aim target color at all? I am somewhat visually impaired and have prescription eyeglasses. There are moments., which are many, where the pale yellow. of the target site is difficult to see and drives me crazy! is there a way to change this to red, green, a darker yellow or any other color.? It's not a must, but it would certainly help me tons. I have not started Forbidden West yet, but I am certainly watching this video and following these suggested changes for other games as I continue with game series. Helpful suggestions with my above question from anyone are much appreciated. I am a dedicated player. If I could change this one setting, along with the few others suggested here. my game play would be a lot quicker and maybe a lot more fun. I really do wish I had found this video and others like it ALOT SOONER. Console play only. I have never played these games on PC. yet. Thanks
Do you have a tip on the pullcaster? I am stuck on getting Aloy to make the pull. I have her step back, but the prompt just returns to pressing L2 and triangle, then hold R2. Can't seem to get her to pull rocks away!
Do you know if there is a way to change how bright things are in Focus mode for FW? In Zero Dawn, the enemy's blue lines were very bright, but in Forbidden West, it seems a lot dimmer, but I would like to turn that up. Is there such a setting?
Hey bro Gooshy! Funny thing, when I kept on doing dodging out of focus in Horizon Zero Dawn, I kept on wishing that O would just be a cancel. But I starting to find the usage of dodging out since I like to keep on checking my enemies with the focus. Just glad that it's still here in Horizon Forbidden West. I wish I could change the color of focus mode, it's so hard to see in the day especially on those far away mechs that are hidden between rocks.. Does the lowering the brightness helps?
I'm disappointed that there was no option to include slowing down the game world around you while in concentration. For those with physical issues regarding hand eye coordination or slow reaction times. As it is extended, the length of concentration doesn't help when fast enemies are still moving around at the same speed. Then add to that the player with physical issues having to constantly overcompensate for being slightly off in their targeting because of hand eye coordination/slow reactions. It can take several more seconds to target where you need to and in that time the enemy is moving about like what seems uncontrollably. Remember, folks with permanent disabilities might not be able to 'get good'.
@@Pinkdiamond6660 Thanks but have already done the settings stuff for the slowest concentration. It's purely that the machines movements are still the same speed than if you had normal speed concentration. And as someone with really bad hand eye coordination and jittery hand movements it's pretty frustrating.
Hey thank you. :) Do you find a solution for that shimmering bug too? I got that shimmering bug on vegetation and grid. They said that you must restart the game two times in the menu. But nothing happens.
Hello NOCOLOUR TOPANT! I tried to research on that bug and what I found is that it can be fixed by restarting the game twice. Guerrilla Games sent out a tweet on that one. Hope you can try it and hopefully it works. 😊
Is there anyway to change the order of traps and potions in that bar on the bottom left?? I’ve been looking all over and can’t find any answers on it. Especially since idk the actual name of it. Great video btw.
Hello Chan Marr. Yes there is a way. When you’re in game, hold down the down button which makes Aloy craft traps and tools. If you press the square button it will allow you to either change the trap on that slot or unequip that trap. You can unequip it and then reorder those traps to your liking.

Hello Astro Games. Yes it is an option in the settings. Under the Visual tab, choose Camera positioning and change it to dynamic. It will still change to left at certain times but will likely move to the right as well in certain situations. I hope this could help. 😇
That does sound frustrating. But I believe there isn’t one. Although there is an auto save function in the game but it only happens on certain occasions
Do you know any good settings for ps4? My focus is not working no matter how many times I click R3. I don't want to thow whole game to trash because one function is not working. I just want to change way of activating focus that won't ruin other controls.
Hello Bark Kas, If your R3 isn't working, I suggest heading to the game settings and under the controls tab, choose BUTTON LAYOUT & CUSTOMIZATION. You can choose CUSTOM to choose a different button for your Focus Activation. I hope that helps. 😇
You changed my entire game experience. These were the settings that they had in the original Horizon Zero Dawn. I don't understand why they changed them but easy fix now. Especially pressing R3 every time to see the Hud and the icons to pick up loot or items was a pain in the ass. Thanks a lot 😁

The Last of Us 2 and Horizon Forbidden West accessibility settings should be the damn standard in every new games. The options to tweak every single things, custom buttons binding, handicapped features. Every developers should take notes.
I couldn't agree with you more. Other games have offered customization for the settings but not as good as both of the games you have mentioned. Settings will always cater the gamer's playstyle and capacity to play with their equipment's potential. 😎
I agree ! The last Far Cry games had this as well. But in HZD, why does the quest marker shows up on my screen when I come within 25 feet of my objective even though I have turned it off in the settings ! I have to deselect the quest to fix that, it's so silly.
I’m a really bad gamer, but I really loved horizon zero dawn and I really want to play this one just to enjoy the story. Just bought it last night but one thing that was bothering me is that the camera keeps shifting up when I’m not touching the controller. Even when I’m aiming, I’ll adjust the aim with R3, but as soon as I let go of R3, the camera(view) shifts up and the arrow is shooting to the sky. Is this normal or can I change it in the settings?
Hello L.L L, I think what you could be experiencing is a controller stick drift. You might need to have your controller fix or for a temporary fix which sometimes don’t work, you can adjust left/right stick dead zone on the controls tab under the in-game settings.
I had purchased PS4 version of the disc and updated to the free PS5 version without installing the PS4 version. Now, to play the PS5 version of the game, I need to insert PS4 play disc, but every time I do it, it also starts installing the PS4 version of the game. Its gets really annoying... any help on this will be highly appreciated !
...It's (more than likely) reserved for the _easiest_ difficulty settings _BUT_ , you can also *DRASTICALLY* 'extend' the duration of _concentration_ , (or effectively slow the consumption of it..), in the _settings_ as well! The "HUNTER skill tree" offers perks like _Deep_ _Concentration_ , or _Concentration+_ , that essentially 'mimic' these effects while playing on the higher difficulties.... **CAUTION** .....it's pretty damn _O.P._ !
I played the camps out of order unintentionally. First the eastern lie, then went to the hive directly. I followed up with breached rock and then devils grasp. But for the latter 2 camps, despite getting it marked as complete on the map, I don't have an objective list for the quest, and never got the rewards. It just says got to the rebel camp and listen to rumors about the rebel camp. What's gives????
I think that is quite weird. But if it wants you to go listen to rumors first, you might need to check up on side characters in settlements close to the campfire or the one outside of the Base to listen to the rumors. I haven’t finished the camp but some of the camps that I just stumbled upon, the quest for it usually just pops up.
You may need to finish the main quest first. I am not sure up to what part. As for me I have finished the main quest first before doing the side contents. Did just a few side quests just to match my current level to the recommended level of the main quest. As the experience that the main quest is giving is not enough to level you up for the next main quest.
Hey Keyboard Warrior! Sadly they made changes to those. Apparently, the alert indicator icon is now in the upper center of the screen and will show up once you come in contact with some machines or enemies. It will still be adaptable, in due time. 😊
Hello Majstor Ringo! I believe you can, you can try going to the HUD visibility and choose custom and then go to customize settings. Look for the inventory log under the player combat and choose always off. I believe that should be it. Let me know if didn’t work out. 😊
Oh no I am sorry about that. I didn't include it since I think that setting will really depend on the player since in my case, the sound the focus makes, I considered ASMR. 😋
idk about this. Icons and stuff always ruin the experience for me. makes it feel like you are on autopilot and not engaging with the game world. I am ok with being in autopilot in series or movies. but not my games. I actually wished games were designed to be played without any hud elements/compass/minimap/markers. I mean part of the fun could be to look at the sun to know what direction you are going and look at a map and see if you can figure out what landmarks are represented.
Like Elden Ring. That's why people love it. This game doesnt need so much fucking accessibility. It like they feel the people playing are too stupid to figure shit out on there own.

Fully agree with both of you. At least HFB gives you the option to deactivate everything... Except the quest marker still shows up on the screen when I get close to an objective unless I turn off the quest, why ??

Hello there Hilary Hamilton. The last time I checked, the only way to increase the text size would be only for the subtitles. If that is what you meant, you can go to Audio tab in the settings and you can go as Extra large for the subtitle size. But there is no way to increase the text wen you are in the menu. 😊
They are easy to miss but can be a life saver and time saver when in battle or trying to find the climbing route when trying to climb mountains. It's also great to be able to turn them on and off as you wish so you can test everything and decide you no longer need a setting on, you can quickly switch it off or visa-versa.
Hello Θανος Πασπαλιαρης. First, sorry I don't know how to read your name. But regarding your question, I think there is little difference since both actually work. I tried strong and default and what I saw is that the arrow curves to the target on both settings but a lot more visible with the strong setting which is good for those who doesn't like aiming moving targets. When I tried to hit enemies that are moving with off settings, the arrow just flies straight but with default and strong, it curves to hit the target. Those would be my observation. 😉
Does anyone know how to stop the concentration? I remember in the first one it wasn’t always zoomed in and slowed down, but it seems that’s always the case with the second game. I HATE that when I’m in a fight it zooms and slows down automatically. Anyone know how I can just make that optional? Or even just turn it off. I don’t always want it to be zoomed in
I hate in Forbidden west that it doesn't point to you which enemy/machine is suspecting you or want to attack you, or even wheb they attack, in zero dawn it shows that!!!
@@DarkhowlGaming loving it. They made some solid improvements on gameplay and mechanics. Story has been compelling. I'm level 35, just finished the Kulrut storyline and am focusing on every side mission/errand/salvage that I can find to max level. Tons of content.

Hello MooonMan666, you are only capable of bringing a few consumables(which also includes trap). So, you might want to double check your inventory and leave the other consumables that you rarely use. For example, my build and gamestyle was more on taking down machines from afar, so I normally don't set traps. So, I just leave my traps in the chest. 😋

I LOVE the Horizon Games. I have all that are available for PlayStation 4 right now. I do have one question that might not be answered here. Can you change Aloy's weapon aim target color at all? I am somewhat visually impaired and have prescription eyeglasses. There are moments., which are many, where the pale yellow. of the target site is difficult to see and drives me crazy! is there a way to change this to red, green, a darker yellow or any other color.? It's not a must, but it would certainly help me tons. I have not started Forbidden West yet, but I am certainly watching this video and following these suggested changes for other games as I continue with game series. Helpful suggestions with my above question from anyone are much appreciated. I am a dedicated player. If I could change this one setting, along with the few others suggested here. my game play would be a lot quicker and maybe a lot more fun. Hey bro Gooshy! Funny thing, when I kept on doing dodging out of focus in Horizon Zero Dawn, I kept on wishing that O would just be a cancel. But I starting to find the usage of dodging out since I like to keep on checking my enemies with the focus. Just glad that it's still here in Horizon Forbidden West. Focus dodge is always on during combat. Even when this setting is disabled.

I'm disappointed that there was no option to include slowing down the game world around you while in concentration. For those with physical issues regarding hand eye coordination or slow reaction times. As it is extended, the length of concentration doesn't help when fast enemies are still moving around at the same speed.
Then add to that the player with physical issues having to constantly overcompensate for being slightly off in their targeting because of hand eye coordination/slow reactions. It can take several more seconds to target where you need to and in that time the enemy is moving about like what seems uncontrollably.
Remember, folks with permanent disabilities might not be able to 'get good'.
U can make the background really slow in concentration and while switching from weapons in setting
@@Pinkdiamond6660 Thanks but have already done the settings stuff for the slowest concentration. It's purely that the machines movements are still the same speed than if you had normal speed concentration.
And as someone with really bad hand eye coordination and jittery hand movements it's pretty frustrating.

Hello Chan Marr. Yes there is a way. When you’re in game, hold down the down button which makes Aloy craft traps and tools. If you press the square button it will allow you to either change the trap on that slot or unequip that trap. You can unequip it and then reorder those traps to your liking.
One I recently changed is pickup animations. Which interrupt movement when collecting lots of materials

There are many languages you can switch to, not sure off hand what all is in the list, but there are many more options than most games I've played.

Hello Astro Games. Yes it is an option in the settings. Under the Visual tab, choose Camera positioning and change it to dynamic. It will still change to left at certain times but will likely move to the right as well in certain situations. I hope this could help. 😇

Hello Bark Kas, If your R3 isn't working, I suggest heading to the game settings and under the controls tab, choose BUTTON LAYOUT & CUSTOMIZATION. You can choose CUSTOM to choose a different button for your Focus Activation. I hope that helps. 😇

You changed my entire game experience. These were the settings that they had in the original Horizon Zero Dawn. I don't understand why they changed them but easy fix now. Especially pressing R3 every time to see the Hud and the icons to pick up loot or items was a pain in the ass. Thanks a lot 😁

I agree ! The last Far Cry games had this as well. But in HZD, why does the quest marker shows up on my screen when I come within 25 feet of my objective even though I have turned it off in the settings ! I have to deselect the quest to fix that, it's so silly.
I’m a really bad gamer, but I really loved horizon zero dawn and I really want to play this one just to enjoy the story. Just bought it last night but one thing that was bothering me is that the camera keeps shifting up when I’m not touching the controller. Even when I’m aiming, I’ll adjust the aim with R3, but as soon as I let go of R3, the camera(view) shifts up and the arrow is shooting to the sky. Is this normal or can I change it in the settings?
Hello L.L L, I think what you could be experiencing is a controller stick drift. You might need to have your controller fix or for a temporary fix which sometimes don’t work, you can adjust left/right stick dead zone on the controls tab under the in-game settings.

I had purchased PS4 version of the disc and updated to the free PS5 version without installing the PS4 version. Now, to play the PS5 version of the game, I need to insert PS4 play disc, but every time I do it, it also starts installing the PS4 version of the game. Using everything guided will ruin the feeling for sure.
I played the camps out of order unintentionally. First the eastern lie, then went to the hive directly. I followed up with breached rock and then devils grasp. But for the latter 2 camps, despite getting it marked as complete on the map, I don't have an objective list for the quest, and never got the rewards. It just says got to the rebel camp and listen to rumors about the rebel camp. What's gives????
I think that is quite weird. But if it wants you to go listen to rumors first, you might need to check up on side characters in settlements close to the campfire or the one outside of the Base to listen to the rumors. I haven’t finished the camp but some of the camps that I just stumbled upon, the quest for it usually just pops up.
You may need to finish the main quest first. I am not sure up to what part. As for me I have finished the main quest first before doing the side contents. Did just a few side quests just to match my current level to the recommended level of the main quest. As the experience that the main quest is giving is not enough to level you up for the next main quest.

Hey Keyboard Warrior! Sadly they made changes to those. Apparently, the alert indicator icon is now in the upper center of the screen and will show up once you come in contact with some machines or enemies. It will still be adaptable, in due time. 😊

Hello Majstor Ringo! I believe you can, you can try going to the HUD visibility and choose custom and then go to customize settings. Look for the inventory log under the player combat and choose always off. I believe that should be it. Let me know if didn’t work out. 😊

idk about this. Icons and stuff always ruin the experience for me. makes it feel like you are on autopilot and not engaging with the game world.
I am ok with being in autopilot in series or movies. but not my games.
I actually wished games were designed to be played without any hud elements/compass/minimap/markers.
I mean part of the fun could be to look at the sun to know what direction you are going and look at a map and see if you can figure out what landmarks are represented.
Like Elden Ring. That's why people love it. This game doesnt need so much fucking accessibility. It like they feel the people playing are too stupid to figure shit out on there own.

Hello there Hilary Hamilton. The last time I checked, the only way to increase the text size would be only for the subtitles. If that is what you meant, you can go to Audio tab in the settings and you can go as Extra large for the subtitle size. But there is no way to increase the text wen you are in the menu. 😊

They are easy to miss but can be a life saver and time saver when in battle or trying to find the climbing route when trying to climb mountains. It's also great to be able to turn them on and off as you wish so you can test everything and decide you no longer need a setting on, you can quickly switch it off or visa-versa.

Hello Θανος Πασπαλιαρης. First, sorry I don't know how to read your name. But regarding your question, I think there is little difference since both actually work. I tried strong and default and what I saw is that the arrow curves to the target on both settings but a lot more visible with the strong setting which is good for those who doesn't like aiming moving targets. When I tried to hit enemies that are moving with off settings, the arrow just flies straight but with default and strong, it curves to hit the target. Those would be my observation. 😉

Hello MooonMan666, you are only capable of bringing a few consumables(which also includes trap). So, you might want to double check your inventory and leave the other consumables that you rarely use. For example, my build and gamestyle was more on taking down machines from afar, so I normally don't set traps. So, I just leave my traps in the chest. 😋
