Taking the Intex Excursion out for a winter ride. The water is still except for the waterfalls and the creek that feeds into the lake. The silent electric Minn-Kota trolling motor makes for a nice ride. This shows the Intex Excursion can be used all year.
We use our boat with a minn-kota 40-lb thrust motor so inflation is even more important. Remember, the air pressure will increase and decrease based on temperature so if you inflate in the cool morning it may become overinflated in the afternoon. And if you park in the shade after cruising in the hot sun you may notice it seems like the boat has a leak!
Storing the boat is also shown; we keep ours in a plastic tote. This keeps the boat away from sharp object to avoid punctures so you can continue adventures without worry.
We've had three of these boats and never had a problem with punctures and we have never felt we were in danger. I've heard people calls these pool toys but, realistically, they are far closer to Zodiacs than a pool toy.
Accessories make the boat even more fun. We have a Bluetooth speaker, cup holders and other pockets on ours.

Hello there. We are getting our setup this week and wondered how well the Minn Kota 30 w/30” shaft did with the Excursion 5?
Gonzy hi Gonzalez, I tried a 30 lb thrust with a 30” shaft and it wasn’t enough power when the Excursion was full. Also, on choppy water the propeller would come out of the water sometimes. You mentioned you have had 3 of these boats. How many years do you typically get out of the boat? Can they handle Wakes from larger boats?
I've also seen a couple instances for people, when they cruise around for 4-5hrs in the heat and then deflate bumps appeared. Over inflation/operator error?

J v check outour “choppy waters” vid. These can handle anything- just inflate correctly. We replaced our first Excursion after three years, there was no sign of wear, just out of caution. Yes, if you inflate in the cool morning you may have to release pressure when it gets hot. We have a vid on that too.
What was exact temperature pleaae ?
That day? I don't remember exactly, but it may have been somewhere around 35 degrees Fahrenheit
