    I guess we've all been there, one moment you're lying dead in a radioactive swamp, the next you're reanimated by toxic waste and off on a mindless killing spree. It's just one of those days when you wish you'd stayed in bed.

    Sir,You are a true artist. One of such eloquent artistry in both sight and sound that I find it
    impossible to do anything else but totally immerse myself in your wonderful stories. As an active retiree, I spend my days working in the yard or restoration projects. I've found lying across my bed, earbuds in my head, listening to your wonderful stories ,beats the hell out of ANYTHING on T.V. these days. Bravo to you sir!! May you have many ,many years of continued recognition and appreciation for your fine works. And above all else may your life be full of happiness and joy for the lovely works you have shared so freely with others
    God bless,Andy

    I keep coming back to this one. The perfect self-contained horror story, in many ways anticipating George Romero’s living dead, with their brains activated by radiation from a returning Venus probe. Great reading, Mr F!

    Have any of you seen Creature With The Atom Brain? The creations of the movie's mad scientist were zombies in the mythological sense; they were under the scientist's control, like the zombies of myth were under the control of a powerful sorcerer.

    Partway through I started imagining Solomon Grundy, and now i cant stop

    • @feralbluee
      @feralbluee 4 роки тому +2

      Solomon Grundy is a nursery rhyme first published in 1901. and that’s what i thought of - so i had to look it up :)
      it’s really a rhyme about a man who had each big event in his life fall on the next of the week. so he born on Monday, T, W, Th, F, and died on Saturday - buried on Sunday. it is kinda gruesome, but as a kid, it’s just a nonsense rhyme. :)

    I've had a painting of a scene from this story within 90 minutes of completion for the past 5 years. Countless other paintings, from Lovecraft, Van Vogt, Long, Clark Ashton Smith, etc, have been finished in the meantime.
    Finding this magnificent reading of the tale inspired me to finally finish the thing. Thanks. Please do some more Brennan -- maybe CANAVAN's BACK YARD or, on a milder but equally eerie note, THE HOUSE ON HAZEL STREET.

      Gomro- I think I will get to those Brennan stories.....eventually. But , I'm planning next on getting a touch of Stoker in the night -perhaps Dracula's Guest or The Squaw........stay tuned. I'm glad I could inspire you to complete your painting. E.E.F

    Why is Joseph Payne Brennan not a household name? Horror anthologies used to be popular, and I miss the era of paper. The channel of Edward French serves as a new type of anthology, for which I am grateful. Why did the algorithm take so many years to bring this to my attention? A connection to the viewers of Old Time Radio channels must be established to share this with more people. And viewers of Halloween channels. Our task is to promulgate the work of Edward French.

    Never been a fan of SciFi, - the dubious pseudo speculation that is supposed to underpin the suspension of disbelief usually doesn't hold up in the modern context.I suppose for much the same reason I'm not a big fan of the Victorian horror that pretends to provide rational explanations that seem quaint now.Give me the phenomena that is no more explicable now than it was century ago.

    • @FrenchEdward06
      @FrenchEdward06  7 місяців тому

      Logical. I agree with you. I'm not a strictly Sci-Fi aficionado. I prefer Fantasy & Horror. There is MUCH that is inexplicable in our oxygen breather reality, but some of these vintage authors were left with making something comprehensive of what they could make of our 3-D reality. It can be entertaining and a springboard to further springboards about what might be going on in our base material weird world...THANKS for commenting. E.E.F.
