Wow! That is brilliant! Thanks for sharing! I've experienced the issue on lots of old swatches and resorted to just letting the motor fight for up to a day to break the dried oil -- but of course, using a demagnetizer is a great idea because you find out immediately if it's a working watch or not! I'm ashamed that despite making a video in which I specifically animate the hands of a Chrono with a demagnetizer I never thought of that! Thanks again!
Very interesting and informative video. I'm always hesitant to buy old Swatch Chronos/watches in general due to them not really being serviceable. Another thing - what is that watch on your wrist around the 10 minute mark (and further)? Stainless steel case and bracelet, and apparently transparent dial - reminds me of a Bulova Accutron Spaceview, but I don't think that's it.
You should be able to find a used autoquartz with a good case and a broken movement and swap it out yourself! I am very interested in those movements! Been looking for one myself!
If you were going to do this a lot, you could drill a hole in the battery cover and add a little hose barb so you could have the compressed air running while you’re heating with your hands free to do the work
I use a demagnetizer to kickstart the old Swatch movements, while their battery is out. Solves the problem with stuck seconds and chrono hands.

@@IMakeWatches absolutely, I had the same, but I was so impatient in waiting that I wanted to start wearing those watches immediately 😁

Thanks for your comment and question! The watch I'm wearing is this one: ua-cam.com/video/4sbH1sruMpQ/v-deo.html
I have an old auto quartz I wish I could get another case for since the strap hinge broke
Any chance you do mods ?

E possibile mettere un pulsante Swatch irony ?
Google lo ha tradotto come, "Is it possible to add a Swatch irony button?" Non sono sicuro di cosa intendi con questo. Puoi chiarire la tua domanda?
Perhaps heating the crystal then putting some compressed air through the crown and blow it out.
I like that idea! I'll comment here again to alert you if I do it on another one and make a video about it.

I have an old goldfinger 2002 watch, would you upgrade it for me, it would be a nice video to see! 😁
Thanks for the offer but I I'm better at breaking watches than I am at fixing them! 😂😂😂
