As a little kid I always tried my best to make sure all friendlies survived the mission because I would get chills every time you would see Fox, his unit and the entire fleet flying together in the end scene... I didn't think it would still give me chills to this day. :D
For the first several times I played this mission, I always shot down at least one Cornerian fighter. Bill and Fox's interaction was always simple, saying "take care" to each other. I was ecstatic to first hear their exchange when you don't shoot any down. In fact, this is in the video lol

Wow! I didn't know there was another ending dialogue. I always got the classical "Take care, Fox! You too, Bill". I suppose you get that when absolutely none of the ally fighters are destroyed. As much as I avoided it, I used to cause some collateral damage with the charged shots and bombs trying to get as much hits as possible.

Falcos “here they come!” Is one of my favorites in the game, delivers it with such urgency. Also where’s the deleted scene, Fox has to eject and he punches one of the alien pilots “Welcome to Eart…..uh I mean Katina!” *Pulls out bubblegum cigar since this is a kids game*
To this day, I have no idea how Nintendo was able to get away with this mission without being sued by Fox for copyright. Not just the ending scene if you lose, but the enemy ships are clearly modeled after the ones from Independence Day, plus the name Bill Gray was taken from Robert Loggia's character in the movie.
Perhaps a bomb is not the best solution for taking out the enemy mother ship, or any other part of this mission. Because of how likely you are to the good guys.

Yeah for a real challenge get this ending and the medal. Do it on expert mode to where any collision damage costs you a wing.

God when the victory music swells and that whole ass squadron comes into frame I get fucking goosebumps. Such a great game!
