ya but most people including myself suck at kerbal space program. I'm a pretty smart guy and can't figure out how to orbit or do anything. I can make a fast rocket or one that can go far, but actually doing things is beyond me. I can't find an actual tutorial that explains what things do and how to do them.
rohit sanyal i did all the ingame tutorials but no one explains things. They leave most things for you to guess at. I had to figure out the (i forgot what you call it, the ball that makes you face a direction).

I remember playing this game before 2014 (Backed on Kickstarter) before you could choose male or female, before being able to choose what region you spawned in, before a lot of changes. I'm glad to say I still play this game to this day, it's incredible seeing the changes this game has made. Happy 2 year anniversary Hinterland, there will be many more anniversaries and hopefully many more updates to The Long Dark. Thanks for the hard work! Stay awesome!

You know what Hinterland, I borderline love The Long Dark. You see so many survival games where your pitted against zombies, players etc. ( which I do enjoy ) but there's never been a game of this calibre where you just survive the brunt of natures wrath. Very well done guys. I'd also like to mention a few things I'd like to see added to the game. Co-op would be very entertaining in my opinion, as surviving with friends is always more fun than alone. Some form of preserving cupboard or drying rack where you can stall meat rotting, because at the moment there's no point in killing a bear aside from getting a bearskin bedroll, as the meat rots too quickly to be a good food source.
FEARxTHExJOKER Yes, moose is being added. Also this game is alpha. They are working on NPC's in story mode. Soon we will see NPC's in sandbox. Due to the NPC models that could result in a co-op mode. I'm sure it's going to be local and online and maybe just 2 players but, you never what to expect from a alpha game. Bears will have a bigger purpose soon, grizzly bears are coming as well. But, currently they are mainly working on the story mode so, new features are not there main priority at the moment. Expect more features when beta is out.
That's good to hear, and I can't wait for the NPCs, looks like the debts are gonna have a lot on their plate. Do you know if the NPCs will be hostile or not? That would bring the difficulty much higher. Maybe that could happen in savage and interloper mode.

The Long Dark has been THE MOST immersive gaming experience I have ever had and it probably will stay that way forever. I've always loved the feeling of struggling in the world of TLD. I've always loved the landscapes. I've always loved the beauty that you guys emphasized with this game. But most importantly I've always loved the idea behind the game. "How far will you go to survive?". Oh and second most importantly I've always loved the music. From Day 1 (to 122) the music has always kept me wanting to play. It's beautiful. The Long Dark is beautiful. That being said I'm sure that going forward you can continue to improve the game and make it one of the best games of all time. With Story Mode on the horizon I'm sure The Long Dark is going to get that title. That being said. "No matter what happens, no matter what you do. Don't give up. Remember who you are. The art style you have going on here is absolutely amazing. I live in Finland and i love winter and i can say that most days and nights look just alike with your games look. This realisticly cartoonish look fits the game and atmosphere perfectly. In the future im going to study as a game designer and i hope i get to work with guys that are as amazing as you guys at hinterland. Keep up the good work :).

I came in somewhere in the middle (May 2015); so amazing to see the progress like this. The Long Dark is easily my favourite survival game, and I won't bore you all with the list of reasons others have mentioned already. Part of what makes this game special for me is that I grew up on Blue Mountain in southern Ontario, which, beside the one ski resort, is a very rural area. Your game takes me back to my childhood, exploring the middle of nowhere in the middle of winter, and I love you guys for it. Keep up the amazing work, for the sake of the dignity of the survival genre at the very least.
They are both very good games with Sub Nautica having less replayability but all these diverves fantastic biomes. The good thing? : you have them both ! 😉
I remember getting this for around 5 dollars in 2014 from a EB games, it’s like having a membership with the game having updates,events and new parts of the story to play

Goddamn. I've spent 248 hours playing this game and in my mind that is a LOT. How the hell do you spend 1000 friggin' hours playing a single game without getting bored....?? The only game I'm probably close to 1000 hours logged is Diablo 2 and that's over a time period of 18 years..!
This game is the closest you can get to braving/enjoying nature without leaving the comforts of your home. Because of this game I backpack and hike all the time, and even caught the bouldering bug. Thank you, Hinterland.

I can now say a Kickstarter survival game released and is one of the best/most realistic survival experiences on the market. And i can now say a Steam Early Access Survival Game came out of early access and is one of the best/most realistic survival experiences on the market. Sweet.

I love he effort you put into your game! And the wolf attacks have gotten more realistic! Such as it biting your hand, and your retaliation, I love the small details that really make this game stand out from others.

Your game has also been teaching me resource management and the great community has taught me one or two things as well. If I'm honest, I used to play TLD almost religiously for a few months a couple years ago because the calmness of it kind of helped me escape some really hard shit irl- and havn't picked it up in a while. Now, years later and a lot more shit having gone down recently, maybe I'll pick it up again. Really looks amazing. I've never been let down by this game honestly, ever.

I bought this game on a whim the day it came out on Xboxs preview program and I've absolutely fallen in love and I'm so happy to watch this game grow and evolve
So little yet so much has changed in this game. It's just a bunch of bigger and smaller details that has been perfected over the years, but the game still feels like the same. To this day I still remember my first time finding a rifle in Trappers Homestead, me finding hoover damn as well as my first time on the forestry lookout. I bought the game waaaaaaaaayyyy back 1 week after official release but those moments have sticked to me ever since. Since I didn't grow up playing Mario I can savely say that this game has earned itself the same spot in my heart.
I remember when I bought the game in 2014 and its been and honor to see this game grow and develop. This game is so good it doesn't need supernatural villains to spice it up or make the game more interesting like most of the survival games out there. I think this game is amazing and I can't wait till the next update comes out.

Crazy thing is I’ve been playing this game since 2014 (only bought it never was a backer) and watching it grow and evolve over the years has been great. Genuinely can’t wait to see all the ways this wonderful game will continue to grow. (Still waiting for my wooden sharpened arrows and flint for starting fires btw)
Looking back on it now, this game was honestly one of my first real games I put actual time into besides minecraft when I was young. I knew about it when it was released for Alpha through I think PSJ, and then I eventually bought the game on both PC and on PlayStation. I've played this game and been keeping up with it since 2015ish. It is good to see that even now it has evolved so much. I mean the UI and game world has increased so much since this video before Official Launch and onward. Keep up the great work Hinterland.
I got my copy on Steam Early Access (back then it was called Steam Greenlight) in December 2014 and I stopped playing it until 2020. My god this game has changed so much, and these old clips are giving me nostalgia flashbacks.
This game changed alot for the good! It's my favorite game since 2016, because I found it in 2016. Great work Hinterland! Waiting for merch shop to open! I also got the game on 3 platforms, Xbox, pc and PS4.

Along with Prison Architect and Kerbal Space Program easily one of the best Early Access titles. A rock solid foundation, steadily and reliably improved upon without losing focus of the main concept. When this gets its full release, it'll be the best pure survival game on the market. There's not even one game in that genre close to its feature set and polish. Godspeed, guys!

Such an amazing game. I never got the chance to back it on kickstarter but I bought it as soon as I saw it on steam, and ever since then every update has excited me, because new amazing changes are always being made. One of the few games that I'm actually happy I bought during early access

Playing since 2017. An absolute life changer for me. What an emotional moment that last save on my old savegame was before expansion pass.

As far as early access goes, this is an example of how it's done RIGHT. This game is up there with subnautica.
I think Subnautica is miles in quality from TLD. Both visually and gameplay wise

This is the greatest survival game ever! Thanks Hinterland Studio and keep up the good work! I can't even imagine how this game will be like in couple of years.
I can't comprehend how good their customer feedback is. I've spoke to one of the devs on Twitter about preferences and issues and he was extremely interested in the opinions of all the players. Keep up the good work Hinterland on my favourite game.

I love he effort you put into your game! And the wolf attacks have gotten more realistic! Such as it biting your hand, and your retaliation, I love the small details that really make this game stand out from others.

If I'm honest, I used to play TLD almost religiously for a few months a couple years ago because the calmness of it kind of helped me escape some really hard shit irl- and havn't picked it up in a while.
Now, years later and a lot more shit having gone down recently, maybe I'll pick it up again.
Really looks amazing. I've never been let down by this game honestly, ever.

I'm very close to buying this game. It's just a matter of time. This is one of those games that I could play for hundreds of hours, one of those games that nostalgia builds from and my love for video games in general. Hinterland, you guys have really made great things happen with this game so far, and i believe that the more you guys work on it, the better it will become. Thank you Hinterland, I look forward to buying this game and anything you all release in the future.

So little yet so much has changed in this game. It's just a bunch of bigger and smaller details that has been perfected over the years, but the game still feels like the same. Love this game. Got it back in 2018 and never regretted it. The story has gotten so much better along with the graphics
To this day I still remember my first time finding a rifle in Trappers Homestead, me finding hoover damn as well as my first time on the forestry lookout. I bought the game waaaaaaaaayyyy back 1 week after official release but those moments have sticked to me ever since.
Since I didn't grow up playing Mario I can savely say that this game has earned itself the same spot in my heart.
I remember when I bought the game in 2014 and its been and honor to see this game grow and develop. This game is so good it doesn't need supernatural villains to spice it up or make the game more interesting like most of the survival games out there. I think this game is amazing and I can't wait till the next update comes out.

Crazy thing is I’ve been playing this game since 2014 (only bought it never was a backer) and watching it grow and evolve over the years has been great. Genuinely can’t wait to see all the ways this wonderful game will continue to grow. (Still waiting for my wooden sharpened arrows and flint for starting fires btw)
Looking back on it now, this game was honestly one of my first real games I put actual time into besides minecraft when I was young. I knew about it when it was released for Alpha through I think PSJ, and then I eventually bought the game on both PC and on PlayStation. I've played this game and been keeping up with it since 2015ish. It is good to see that even now it has evolved so much. I mean the UI and game world has increased so much since this video before Official Launch and onward. Keep up the great work Hinterland.
I got my copy on Steam Early Access (back then it was called Steam Greenlight) in December 2014 and I stopped playing it until 2020. My god this game has changed so much, and these old clips are giving me nostalgia flashbacks.

Along with Prison Architect and Kerbal Space Program easily one of the best Early Access titles. A rock solid foundation, steadily and reliably improved upon without losing focus of the main concept. When this gets its full release, it'll be the best pure survival game on the market. There's not even one game in that genre close to its feature set and polish. Godspeed, guys!

Has it really been that long? It feels just like yesterday when I picked this game up in October of 2014 and played the crap out of it! So much has changed and for the better. Looking forward to what comes further down the line this year and the next.

Such an amazing game. I never got the chance to back it on kickstarter but I bought it as soon as I saw it on steam, and ever since then every update has excited me, because new amazing changes are always being made. One of the few games that I'm actually happy I bought during early access
