- Review Pipistrel Virus121 SW the most advanced and affordable 2-seat EASA Type-certified airplane in its category.
Capable of glider towing, night VFR, with intentional spinning approvals and capable of advanced UPRT training,
Robust performance and field-proven experience - this is the official trainer of Indian Airforce, Navy and NCC. It cruises at 2 NM per minute, climbs at 1000 fpm, is complex and full auto pilot

I built a full motion VR simulator using Microsoft Flight Simulator premium edition - this is the only aircraft I fly now in the sim. Maybe someday fly the real thing. I think I watched every UA-cam video on the Pipistrel!
Hi thanks for watching. I hope you do indeed get the chance to fly the Pipistel in real life. Too bad you don't live in the Netherlands, otherwise you could get a trial lesson. By the way, I hope to make a video about the Pipistrel Alpha Trainer soon.
Would you help me and my son pick the right FLight sim equipment. There’s a lot to learn and I want it as real as possible.
So do I.
@@TheFlyingDutchgirl Can you suggest any flying schools in Netherlands who offer training in this aircraft? I live in Italy btw. I think I can pay a visit some day.
@@himansubaral4252 Hi I know that the E-Flight Academy at Teuge Airport has one.
The aircraft is pretty and fast just like the Flying Dutchgirl. From Canada.
Thank you! And a very happy New Year 😀
Nice, slick looking aircraft!
good choice of background (blues) music...Indonesian here...
Thank you!😀
Could you please share the maximum take off weight of the Virus SW? I found conflicting numbers online.
Hi J A. Thanks for watching 😀. According to the pilot operating handbook the maximum take off weight is 600 kg.
Awesome
We Like it!
Thank you!
Split Aces when the dealer shows a 5 or 6
Nice job! Where was this shot?
Thanks for watching. It was shot in the Province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. We left from Midden Zeeland airport in Arnemuiden
@@TheFlyingDutchgirl phenomenal landscape
Yes Zeeland is te most beautiful Province to fly in the Netherlands.
Keep a bloody good look out!
The safety pilot sits next to me, don't worry..😉
Nice.
Take nap, do nails, read book, keep clearance from clouds - FOLLOW VFR!
Husband was next to me and flying the aircraft at that moment 😉.
@@TheFlyingDutchgirlOK, then... safe ride!
@@radovanbakos880 Thanx!
Can i put floats on it?
Hi, I think you better can contact Pipistrel for this question. I've never seen one with floats.
What is the blues music called? I enjoyed this episode a lot!
Thank you very much for watching! The track is called Super Blues by the Unicorn Heads. You can find it in the YT audio library
Is it fuel injected? Can it burn mogas with ethanol? How can we get it certified for IFR? Without that, it has very limited usefulness for a flight school.
Hi yes it can burn mogas with ethanol. For more info www.pipistrel-aircraft.com/aircraft/cruising/virus-sw-121/
@@TheFlyingDutchgirl Wonderful,
vliegend nederlands meisje, but that is no surprise; while it is a big saving, more significant questions are: is, Is that particular Rotax fuel-injected? (eliminating the possibility of carb ice, and potential off-field landings) does that particular Rotax have automatic mixture control? And most importantly, if all the previous are satisfied, can it be certified for IFR? If the last is "no," then it loses 90% of its attractiveness here in the USA.
@@barryborella7477 No injection certified at this time. I advise you to
to contact Pipistrel, they may be working on it.
Not IFR certified.
Where is pipistrel Canada? Can they train me? Should I go to slovenia and train in one and hit on the local ladies? What are the chances of pipistrel using a rotax 915is? I promise not many more questions
www.pipistrel-aircraft.com/locations/ here you can find Pipistrel Canada. I'm sure they can answer all your questions 😀
The useful load limit of the Virus is small so you'd have to have 2 lightweights in this plane if you attempt to fly for any distance.
According to my calculations I can have 2 normal sized adults of 75 kg (165 lbs) full fuel (100 liters) and 23 kg (50 lbs) of baggage to get to 600 kg MTOM. Its an aircraft in the LSA class.
Maybe you should buy an A380?
Yes, that's the only disadvantage. But that goes for more aircraft like this.
I always do my nails during cruise. Too many distractions in the other phases of flight.
Right 😁
Cool little plane 😎
It’s going to be a slow climb towing a glider with 100hp!
Average of 13 minutes to 1200m with a Fox, not bad at all.
Stupid question,...how much can a glider tow pilot make assuming appropriate business insurance is covered.
How does this compare to the Sinus?
Hi Scnauzer777 The Sinus is a high wing motor glider with a flexible wingspan solution transformer. www.pipistrel-aircraft.com/aircraft/gliding/sinus/ And more about the Virus www.pipistrel-aircraft.com/aircraft/cruising/virus-sw-121/
@@TheFlyingDutchgirl thanks!
What does this aircraft cost???
Hi thanks for watching. Pipistrel Virus · 912 LSA: US$103,000 (2020) · SW 100 LSA: US$110,000 (2020) · SW 121 EASA: US$183,000 (2020). The costs can vary per country, such as fuel costs and insurance. More information can be found at www.pipistrel-aircraft.com
Nothing affordable about this plane. Beautiful though.
what type of fuel does this use
Hi Steve thnks for watching Mogas and also avgas. But Mogas is better.
what I dont like with such light aircraft, that it shakes you like crazy all the time
It's okay with the virus. The Pipistrel Alpha Trainer suffers a bit more from it. It is generally very good. Unless you get into turbulence. But every plane suffers from this to a greater or lesser extent.
Then you buy yourself an A380 (they a cheap theese days). Very smooth flight.
How much does this thing cost…?

Is there an English version of this video. I have no earthly idea what language was being spoken by the narrator.
Really? You seem to be the only one with this issue.
Different people, languages and accents.
Maybe time for a hearing aid........
A huge part of being a good pilot is situational awareness. Not paying attention to one's surroundings while being the PIC because you're taking a nap, filing your nails etc is very irresponsible even if the auto pilot is on. So to promote such irresponsible behavior may sound cute in a sophomoric way to a middle aged woman, but it's really not cute at all.
You do realize that I was flying with my husband next to me? So your comment is moot.
@@TheFlyingDutchgirl You do realize that you're still promoting irresponsible behavior, don't you?
@@akken2112 Why would a passenger, taking a nap be promoting irresponsible behavior? The guy next to her controlled the aircraft, setting the autopilot and such. Or did you totally miss that part.
Yes, being a passenger is really really irresponsible.
I am from india. how much price(plane)?

Reading a book is not a good idea 😊
Thanks for watching. Yes I know 😉
Autopilot is less exciting...
Yes, maybe. But on a long flight it can be very relaxed. 😀
You better wake up 💤
I already am 🙏
Buy some new shoes
🤦♀
what a terrible name for an aircraft
Would Covid be a better choice you think? 😉
