Well done Francis, total respect for even attempting that-and a 199 heartrate! Mine did go up to 239 2 years ago-but that was Superventricular Tachycardia-which after 2 ablations has thankfully now been fixed.
Frances, you are awesome to swim, bike and run with professional triathletes. Brutally honest about how tough it is even on the short training routes. The next step is to see how well you do in the transitions. Thanks for this awesome video.
I’m a runner, but I run with triathletes and they are awe inspiring, to the point where I have committed to a 70.3 in the next year and a half (I straight up can’t swim). Doing the run leg of a 70.3 and just being on the same course is a huge honour.
Well done Francis, a 5km run is about my limit, not swam properly for years, and a 70-80km ride takes me most of the week to recover from😁 What these guys do is just impossible to comprehend, but amazing to watch.
Great video 👍😄🏆in this set of 2022 Kona ones....Qu Francis: May we see you entering an Ironman or half Ironman one day next year or 2024 ( a long term goal?). Loved the 3XL aero hawaiian tshirt ! 😎. Thanks to Fanella for joining in so soon after her top 10 finish 👏. The toon today ( Sunday 3pm) is rather cool & blustery ! Not at all like Kona!
I've done a 70.3 IM in Maine. 6 foot seas coming in to shore and I was seasick getting out of the water. I enjoy triathlons but it's a sado-masochists sport.
@@gilliesuarez most age group races aren’t in the UK and if they were TT bikes would be banned. Plus Ironman Kona certainly isn’t draft legal. Source. I’m a triathlon coach and former technical official.
I feel like I might do OK for a bit on the cycling and running part but I would be absolutely dead at the bottom of the ocean if I had to swim 750 meters lol. People sleep on how difficult swimming is
You did way better than Phil Gaimons somewhat lighthearted attempt a while back when he did a fun day out with Lionel Sanders and Ari Klau. I think you appreciated it a bit more than Gaimon also. Hes definitely a roadie for life. You at least did an open water swim. He was pretty much a step away from demanding duckie arm floats for his pool swim. :)
used to run at school, and ride only as transport, but swimming was never good..and that was 35 years ago....haven't run for decades, riding now good and swimming much better...but those triathletes...phew
@@Cade_Media we had a girl on our team that was part humming bird. She'd routinely hit 220... she held a couple of National records in breastroke. Died a tragic death at 20 (car accident).
I think every elite event should have an average Joe or Jo included to give context to how amazingly superhuman the pros are
Would be a nice concept for the tour the france! Every stage a clubracer is allowed to start in the peloton and see how long they can hold the wheel.
@@TSonemusic dangerous
@@TSonemusic thats dumb and dangerous because they dont just go all out on the tour.
Another superb video - really enjoyed this. Laughed out loud when Kyle just breezed past the other cyclists wearing a XXL Hawaiin shirt.

Super impressed well done for having a go, triathletes just on another level.

Massive respect to those guys, well done Francis

Keira riding support in a jumpsuit and Birkenstocks is sending me! Great video as ever.
How great is Fenella to do this after her epic day out. Great vid.
Such a good premise for a video, loved it Francis!
Maximum respect to you Francis and the pros who 'helped' you. I'd have drowned before the intro was over 😂

Brilliant video. "off the couch Ironman" would be a cracker ;)
the Vegan Cyclist did a video on this.
Another great video Francis, mantra from IM training 'Don't let your bike split become your run split'.
I can't believe you raced Fenella the day after her Ironman, her performance was astonishing! The girl needs a lie down!
Thanks Francis...I started as a runner .
My new favourite video of yours!!!👏👏
Great video! I did a charity 6k run a couple of weeks ago and it was almost the end of me! Running is no fun at all! These Iron-folk are animals!
Well done, Francis, great video too 🏊♂️ 🚴♂️ 🏃♂️
You're not used to exercise AND supporting your own body weight 😂
I sympahtise. Great video (, series & channel), thanks again!
A random McVitty appears!!!

Like all endurance sports obviously 😂
Fun video. Cool Idea
Lol she was being very very kind to you on the swim. Plus you know the bike portion is non-drafting right…? 5 minutes in the penalty box for Francis.
Most sprint TRIs are draft legal

Special rules for me ;)
Love you Francis

Great effort Francis, well done, what race you signing up for ?
I was hoping you and Keira would do a collab!
Very well done Francis 🏊♂🚴♂🏃♂👏
the face that he pushing him self to new heights is freaking awesome true motovation really happy for you
Always good to have a McBiscuitty cross-over!
Congrats to your friend Alex Doucets' wife for completing an Ironman Triathalon entertaining video btw 🚲🇨🇦
Fancy doing a Sprint or even an Oly next year? After seeing that I'm worried I might stand a chance 😉

Nothing wrong with a swim workout in the pool... ideally they should have filmed that in a pool that's too deep to walk in... 🤣.
excellent
19 & change for 750 puts you in the 8 & under squad ... my kid swam 800 in 14:39 @ 9 (and that was nothing special.)
Had to turn down the brightness for this one 😁
Quality vid
Kudos for even attempting to keep up with those freaks of nature
Insanely fit... hat off.
I'd also race in that Hawaiian shirt.... obviously.
Oh cool triathlon
Its the kiwi Lawrence
Fishes though
hello lovely peopleeeeeee
7h45min is fucking mental pace

Francis this is a triathlon, no drafting

HR199 😵 what's your Max HR 😂
Hr199 isn’t that impressive. The fact he’s able to speak at such hearth rate is crazy🤣
no idea what my real max is now, it used to hit 216 when I was racing years ago, but then I was basically a teenager!

Swimming let's you know that you're not in shape quickly.
