From a composer's perspective: Apple Vision Pro and Cubase

- Over the past days, I’ve been experimenting with Apple Vision Pro and learning how it can improve my workflow.
This is the part 1 of a deep test drive from a composers perspective! More to come!

Wow, I imagined how cool this would be for producers and workflow, but really seeing it is just insane!!!
This is a video that I have been looking for in terms of practical usage of this device. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful buddy
Is why have “PRO” in the name, you can use, no people only for play games like quest3
Antonio, I'm curious how quick and responsive the Apple Vison Pro is to hand gestures? Could I run a live mix, triggering song clips? Is it as "Precise" as a mouse click? With vision tracking- is it faster? (I'm using Ableton as sound effects response to something happening on a live stream. (not beat matching live music)).
Good question. Eyes + pinch are not as fast and precise as mouse although very close to speed.
@@AntonioTeoli could you use EYES and keybind the “pinch-click”?
-or is it more of a latency thing
@@rotgutbottom as far as I researched is about 12ms. You can notice a little bit but is very, very little
This is the main reason I want one, for productivity and screen real estate anywhere! I’ve had to work from my couch every day for the past 2 months because I’m caring for my newborn. So while she sleeps it’d be great to work off multiple screens rather than just my MacBook.
What is that keyboard stand/rack? Looks a bit different than others I’ve seen. Also, is that the OB-X8? How do you like it?
This is the number one reason why I’ve got the Vision Pro. Having screens floating around you and the sense of freedom is amazing. For the stand I am using Jasper. They are really good but a little bit expensive in my opinion and about Oberheim I love this thing I’ve been using in many projects not just to create electronic music but layering with orchestra samples.
@@AntonioTeoli fantastic! My friend (and former boss) is Marcus Ryle, co-creator of the OB-X8. So glad you love it! I still need to get one, but with the baby, priorities have shifted a bit. 😉👍
omg.. I didn't think of this use case, you can use any synth anywhere in the room and still check out the computer screen, because you can move it anywhere, this is genius. Also if you make content, it's always annoying have to check what's going on in the screen (like OBS and stuff). Thanks for sharing! I'm in Spain tho so I think it's going to be here in a year or even longer.
Thanks for the message man. I’m planning on doing more content like this in the near future
Great video. The only thing stopping the VP from mass circulation is the price. The price is as it should be because of supply constraints. Businesses traditionally set exorbitant prices for cutting edge products with limited supply. The first 4k flat panel cost 16k! The first Mac, at $2800 in 1984 is equivalent to about $7k today. I can see musicians using The VP with Spatial Audio played in a simulated venue to create the perfect acoustics.
This is pretty much what I've been thinking of might be a useful application for the Vision Pro... but I am hoping Apple will create a Logic Pro remote app for the headset that will take full advantage of the possibilities of the Vision Pro... like drawing automation and midi CC data... even in 3d! But I guess you could use the iPad version of the Logic remote together with this setup you have now as well... and isn't there some iPad remote app for Cubase as well?
That would be amazing! Loved the idea of drawing cc with the fingers
For remote control on Cubase I use metagrid pro
@@AntonioTeoli It might be worth trying to start the iPad Metagrid Pro app up as an app inside the Vision Pro headset. I believe most iPad apps are compatible with the Vision Pro headset. That way you could have Metagrid in one window, and then another window with the output from your Mac.
Maybe in the future it would good for live shows to get easy access to the DAW without needing a screen or laptop in the way.
What software do u use on your Ipad? Looks very handy!
Metagrid Pro
Very cool, i hope apple lets logic pro x run on it 😳
Can’t wait to have Logic running natively here too
gimmick. I mean, a floating display is hardly a deal breaker here, considering all the downsides of its ergonomics
Not perfect, but more and more I’ve been noticing how this thing has changed my workflow entirely
I'll just buy a bigger screen
If you can move your bigger screen anywhere in your studio with easiness while recording instruments that are far from your main display, that might be a better and cheaper option
Bluetooth audio, a no go for sound engineers.
You still use your sound monitors - you wouldn't use the vision headphones when producing, if that's what you mean
@@Joe-fn9mi But playing VSTs in real time. A no go. Playback. Mixing and mastering? A no go.
he's saying you wouldn't use the VP's ear-speakers in these scenarios. Just use your usual monitor speakers. No extra lag.@@psysword
@@psysword Perhaps - but you just said about Bluetooth audio, so I answered that.

in productivity perspective view vision pro seem pretty useless btw... the main usage for entertainment and content consumption
I’ve been digging, specially for the floating screen
More of a novelty than a practicality. Looks silly.. I''ll wait till other versions.
