Earl Scruggs is a banjo player that revolutionized the way people listin to the banjo. He is now 80+ years old!!!! but before him people thought of the banjo as an instrument in the circus or comedy. now its one of the main sounds in bluegrass and lots more.
Jake is the same way with his instrument!!
I can't wait to hear what comes next.

Just picked up a uke and having a blast. My classical guitar is in a case against the wall while I take my uke with me to the beach, to the hammock, to the park... I was in Guitar Center this weekend and they had a ukulele display, of all things - and two people were in the process of buying ukes. They were selling ukuleles in my CostCo of all places - and these were decent Kohala concert ukes. I think ukuleles are the fun, social instrument and am glad to see them becoming so popular.

I bought a Ukulele after watching Jake play, no joke! The most inspirational musician I have seen in a long time, I have been lucky enough to see him play once while working for the Today show where he played alongside Tommy Emmanuel (and made Tommy look like he was second "fiddle")...not only is he an amazing musician, but also a VERY down to earth guy!

@DotzomgFearz yea it is, and for all those who keep asking what type of ukulele thumbs this up.
    Custom Kamaka(brand) Tenor(size) Ukulele
    full curly koa body
    rosewood bindings,
i think the neck is also koa,
    bridge and frets are ebony,
that sweet looking headstock is a slotted-style headstock.
with integrated fishman acoustic matrix amp outlets.
i'm sure he goes through many strings so i can't say anything about that.
    goes for 5grand.

    Tenerife, Spain, Africa.
The Spanish word for ukulele is 'timple', and here we use a more traditional version (sometimes with an extra fifth string, sometimes with the usual four) than the Hawaiian innovation.
I bet this Jake Shimabukuro would be interested in checking out Spanish players like Benito Cabrera.
    Very nice work, Jake.
You should come here for a visit to check out older styles.
There are thousands of good timple-players here on this small island.
    Best wishes,
    Solstice.
