I was at the band stand in Kap Park,, also at the Uke Festivals. So glad i lived on Oahu.. worked in the same block art Kamaka factory, Fell in love with the uke,
I've been to a few of his concerts when he comes to Austin. Jake stayed afterwards to meet his fans and sign CD'S and other merchandise. Yes, he is a nice guy.
Never in my life have I heard a ukulele played like that, you truly excel yourself sir, I'm a uke player too but I can always dream that I could play like you, what a performance, hats off to you sir, 🎩👍👏👏👏
I wish George Harrison were alive today to hear this wonderful arrangement and performance of his composition I think he would have wanted to "jam" along. Bravo
And at 3:02 I hear angel’s harps while millions of colorful butterflies surround me as I am lying on a peaceful meadow and the green grass tickles my bare feet. ... Simply one beautiful piece of artwork!
The finest violinists can make their one instrument sound like 20 all playing together. Seems like this phenomenon is now is now also possible on the ukulele. Bravo sir.
People with the thumbs down probably were expecting to hear a more straightforward tune. This is for musicians, and lovers of great musicianship and true creativity. Wowow
bronxbudget he was great but for the first four minutes it seemed like he was just showing off. I could understand people not liking this as much. This is like some tommy Emmanuel shit which has its place but like sometimes you just wanna hear the song itself. But great performance tho not gonna lie
Probably 20 years ago, Jake played at an outdoor summer concert series in Chattanooga. A lot of folks weren't paying attention, until he played the Star Spangles Banner. It got super quiet and one by one everyone stood up to see him and listen. They were his for the rest of the evening.
An artist has to have a vision (hear it in their head) of what they and their instrument are capable of doing together...and then they must practice and work hard to realize that vision. This is a wonderful example of that process...very skillful and engaging...well done! As far as people who give thumbs down, I figure it's none of my business but I do look forward to the day when some musician, song and performance get a thumbs up from every single person in the world...that will be a wondrous thing...
We just saw Jake for the second time last night... Wow! What an incredible show! I'd be hard-pressed to think of a more talented musician. As talented, yes, but more?! It would be tough. His musicianship is great and his shows are fun. Everyone should try to see him live at least once in their lifetime!
My musical mind climaxed and was blown at the same time! Holy freaking goosebumps BadMan on the Uke! I thought the strawberry fields version video was too much! This is almost on a different level from that 1! Thank you eternally for this Jake! I can't wait to show my Grandpa this since he was the 1 to introduce me to this man in the first place!
Wow! That was just amazing, I am a complete beginner in playing ukelele, but really enjoy playing so far. now I have something to aim for! That was absolutely awesome in every way thank you!
The very first song I learned how to play, start to finish completely. Played on my Epiphone EJ160 E way back in 1968. Awesome rendition to an original
And sometimes a kid just ask God the force to keep going year after year practicing and mastering his art wile other just pray for miracle gifted grace of God
That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen and absolutely the most amazing thing I've seen played on the ukulele. You are the Tommy Emmanuel of ukulele. Would love to see Jake and Tommy play together.
If you ever get a chance to see him live, make it happen. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Absolutely amazing. He is the Tommy Emanuel of the ukulele.
timing, musicality, performance, expression.. tell me there is a better musician in the world..Jake, thank you, I LOVE your stuff, blows my mind every time
Disagee.......(and disliked). I like him as an artist and have followed him for years but this ‘interpretation’ of the song is more about showing off, than art. It was painful to watch. His other versions of the beautiful song he loves so much, are done better and purer.
Clean, Clear sound, the notes: melody, harmonization / orchestration for only a four stinged musical instrument in the hands of a Grand master Uke Virtuoso... Bravo Jake!!!!

I saw him at a High end furniture store, Inspiration Furniture, in Vancouver, B.C. I was working in the building and came down to see him at about 3pm. He was about a 45 minute concert.
Killer version. I saw Jake about 4 years ago and the night was magical; he's an incredible entertainer. And with his interactions with the audience - he seems like a great human being to boot. I like the Peterson strobe clip-on tuner he's using. I have one. And nothing I play that it clips on sounds like it's from the same planet as this : \
Simply brilliant mastery of what is so often seen as a ‘toy’ guitar. Thank you for reminding us it’s still a Guitar! With Uke, song choice is clearly critical!
Not so... I asked Bela Fleck to show me his finger tips at Bonnaroo once - no evidence of calluses at all. Shocked me and I don't know how these masterful string players can play the hours that they do with no compelling evidence.
@@jimhendrickson3507 I've played guitar for 20+ years and have almost no callous. I used to, hard ones, but they've softened up over the years and now it's like...I must still have some kind of callous or something because the strings don't hurt, but the skin is soft. Weird.

Stunning, what a musician first time seeing this guy I am blown away what an amazing player.
When someone with magic fingers tells his ukulele that it is going to act as classical guitar today, and doesn't take no for a answer.
Always amazing to see and hear Jake play,...anything he want, anyway he wants!!
My guitar is gently weeping after hearing this played on a Uke 🤣
This guy is a freaking legend.

Hope this gets more views, he really put his own spin on this. Its great.
This is freaking insane. I mean that in a good way. I just started playing ukulele. And this gives a whole new meaning to “playing the ukulele”!
I need to start playin mine. I was moderately good on guitar could play Stairway to Heaven full score. Can't anymore.

Clearly any people who think a ukelele is just something for someone to play _with_ are dead wrong.
One of my favorite songs, what did he just do with it? Wow just "Amazing" can't believe he got so many sounds out of a ukulele. Glad I found this.
jake is so mesmerizing to watch, love this reindition so much

His calluses finger tips must have callused finger tiped calluses
