I always thought Mayuris original Bankai is way more powerful then people think or the show pictures it. As long as you don´t have reiatsu on the level of yamamoto, aizen etc, its poison alone is a huge problem. But i actually think its strongest feat is the fact that Mayuri still has a sword after summoning it and can act independent from the caterpillar. Sure he ain´t the best swordsman in the series but as a captain he is at least strong enough, so that he can´t be ignored. Just imagine a giant poisongas caterpillar trieing to crush you and then there is a strong swordsman, master kidouuser and scientific trickster going after you to make you his guineapig. His evolved Bankai comes with so much potential, that it might be able to beat everyone without a hax-ability like kyorakus bankai or yhwachs all mighty.
I don't think this was a new ability as much as a perfected one, he's mentioned modifying his bankai during it's second appearance, I think this form and specifically having access to it during battle is just the progression of that ability, I think if he called out Ashisogi Jizō it would bring out whatever the last saved version of Jizō that Matai Fukuin Shōtai had prepared. And I do like to believe that Matai can produce multiple Jizōs per summon, though probably only one at a time
Mayuri is definitely one of my favs, including his Bankai. I'm not sure the specifics on how his bankai evolves but it seems like it has evolutionary stages so he could in theory simply speed up that process to give birth to multiple new bankai during the same fight, gaining new abilities and counters. Although it seems like he has to physically manipulate it as implied in the tybw anime scene of him on the monitor in his lab, and by him claiming it was an altered form. So it seems like it does have a hard limit of him having proper prep time and some idea of what to create from it before hand. Once that is done though i think what i said above about evolutionary stages would be true and that would also tie in to his theme of growth, along with nemu. This battle was definitely humbling for him though, i think he will now chill out a bit and lean into his role as a patient parent, watching and learning from organic growth through Nemu.
The weakness is that Mayuri is still unchanged and able to be hurt and that he has to learn as much info about his opponent before being able to release an effective counter. If there's a switch between enemies his bankai would be useless, or if the enemy managed to keep some of their power secret it wouldn't have a counter to it.
Mayuri is one of those people that if he is on the opposite side, you need to take him out as quickly as possible because the more data he collects on you, the less likely you will ever stand a chance against him. However this is easier said then done since even if you have a notion of how dangerous he is, Mayuri tends skulk in the shadows and only reveals himself after he has been able to make at least some initial observations on you which ironically makes him sneakier than Soi Fon. The one thing that would be working in your favor is the fact that in terms of raw stats (i.e. strength, reitsu, etc.) Mayuri is probably one of the least impressive Captains of the series, he certainly does not hold a candle to the like of Kyoraku, Hitsugaya, Byakuya, and Kenpachi in that regard. Meaning that if you did know to look for him and could corner him, he would probably be one of the easier Captains to take out (at least temporarily) though you would need to hit him hard and hit him fast. I do not think he would be able to counter Yamamoto but that is only because of Yamamoto's sheer overwhelming being beyond the limits of Mayuri's Bankai. In essence it seems there are only two ways to beat him realistically. Either you need to take him out quick and early or you need to be so ridiculously powerful that all his clever adaptions are simply unable to cope with your overwhelming power. I find it amusing that one of the least powerful Captains in the series is easily the most dangerous of them all by the end of the TYBW arc.
if i remember something from cfyow the main villain made a list of characters who can beat hikone and mayuri is one of the people in the list ig its because of his bankai
The glaring weakness of *Konjiki Ashisogi Jizõ: Matai Fukuin Shõtai* is offcourse the amount of data that Mayuri needs to gather before activating his Bankai. With a theoretical battle between Byakuya and Mayuri. I can see Mayuri gather data to counter Senbonzakura Kageyoshi by hardening one of his Konjiki Ashisogi Jizõ skin so the millions of razorblades can't penetrate the Jizõ and hereby protecting Mayuri further to get up close to Byakuya. But if the data that is gathered is insufficient and Byakuya goes into his "Senkei" which focuses the power output of each razorblade by combining them into sword form, the Jizõ will fail. This is because Byakuya's blade is rather versatile with it's displayed techniques like "Ikka Senjinka", "Gõkei" and "Hakuteiken". I see the same problem agains the likes of Aizen where Mayuri can't gather correct data while being under hypnosis. Another one would be bankais that would undo Mayuri's research, where I can see both Urahara and Kyõraku's bankai being a problem. With Urahara it can go in either way: - If Mayuri spawns a Jizõ with insufficient data to attack Urahara, Urahara's "Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame" would be able to reconstruct that Jizõ making it harmless. - If the data is sufficient enough, to make the Jizõ let's say sticky and paste itself back together as Urahara is trying to reconstruct it, it would be enough to get close enough and win. With Kyõraku's many games his zanpaktou can manifest I doubt Mayuri has enough time to gather enough data to begin with, but lets say he does make it to a bankai vs bankai battle. Now Mayuri's bankai could get immune to Kyõraku's play, the same cannot be said for Mayuri himself, with Kyõraku's first act of "sharing the wounds" the newly spawned Jizõ could accidentally indeed kill Kyõraku, but this would also take Mayuri out as well. But this is because Kyõraku's bankai rather targets the wielders and not the sword. In act 2 I can already see Mayuri getting in trouble as he's inflicted with that disease or when act 3 starts and both get thrown into the abyss. Then there is act 4 if Mayuri would try to escape and I can see Mayuri surviving this, eventhough it's surpose to be a sure thing kill, but Mayuri can turn into that blue goo like he did agains Uryu. I do wonder how the Konjiki Ashisogi Jizõ: Matai Fukuin Shõtai would fare against the like of Shinji as Mayuri would need to gather information, yet all he would be gathering is that everything he senses is reversed after inhaling the odor that Sakanade emits. Now if Mayuri would activate his bankai and spawn a Jizõ without a nose, would the Jizõ be straight up immune and fight Shinji for Mayuri? Visuals about this fight would be funny that the Jizõ would suddenly go a differend direction then Mayuri would be facing and Mayuri suddenly realizing he was staring to the wrong direction the entire time xD. Also Shinji's bankai is to invert alliances, so Mayuri would need to detonate his bankai again in order to prevent the Jizõ from attacking Mayuri himself.
So if the first was a fetus-caterpillar, and the second form we see is was a baby-cocoon/chrysalis, I guess the next form will be a child-moth/butterfly. Hope we get to see that!
17:28 Mayuri once heard about how Batman can solo any character in the DC universe if he got enough prep time...and then Mayuri proceeded to make that his whole personality 😂 but like in a waaay more obnoxious way than Batman
The way Mayuri's bankai is always modified kinda represents the dark side of science. In order to make advancements, it requires to do a lot of cruel and unspeakable thinks. And his bankai is just that.
My curiosity is: what would happen if this new and improved Bankai faced a Zanpakuto that could duplicate every last detail and ability of any other Zanpakuto at will? Edit: I've just watched the Tokinado portion of CFYOW 3 video by Mr. Tommo (video I've never watched before until no) and I must say, it would be an interesting fight, but still don't know the final result for certain Thanks Alisson for the idea to look up the character name! Actually helped
I there are limits to the counters he can install. The most obvious one being too many counters occupying the same "space". Another being contradictory counters.
Hey Mr Tommo, I know this is random and I just was thinking of a theory of ukitake’s Bankai. So his shikai can basically absorb and reflect their attacks. What if his bankai basically does the same? If it basically reflects another bankai’s power and look as his own. I was thinking this because maybe the soul king held the sword in his right hand so he could basically do anything he wanted with it with his power. So he can call upon someone else’s bankai or any other zanpaktou. Just a thought
There is one sword that I think Mayuri's new bankai couldn't counter properly and that would be Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu. Since Aizen specializes in illusions Mayuri may accidentally feed his bankai data that makes it weaker in a fight. and there is no way to counter this due to only needing to see the release once. Mayuri would never know if what he is experiencing with any of his/or his sword's senses were actually accurate. Also the sword wouldn't be able to counter kido since they can be used in infinite combinations. He wouldn't be able to modify his bankai quickly enough to counter that unless he knew every single hoho, hado, and bakudo technique ever created. It would be really interesting if the quincy stole this bankai and used it against mayuri. Would it adapt or just blow itself up like before?
Ever since I saw Mayuri’s bankai at ten years old… the horn along with the baby cry sounding and the design have creeped me the hell out. This version is even more creepy
Kisuke's bankai could just allow him to restructure himself after Mayuri made a custom made counter bankai.... @mister Tommo maybe a video about all the potential counters of Mayuri to all other bankai?
Wouldn't Yamamoto just be able to cancel out the effects with his reiatsu? That in itself likely brings up its limitation as well. It is still a shini technique ultimately, and because of that is bound by their rules and laws. The other big limitation of the technique is, it takes a second to actually build the counter. If the opponent murders him in this time.... the counter will cease to exist as well.
Still love how Rukia and Renji's (true) Bankai both end up having a "wearable" aspect (even if Rukia's dress is purely cosmetic) just like Ichigo's Fullbring.
I think that if someone has a very high sp the baby can't overpower that since it's still limited by Mayuri's SP so it is a perfect counter mainly to meta abilities.
The arc that begins with bankai being stolen is "great for bankai." And this is my problem with the arc. We could've seen a lot more from Chad and Orihime; Nel, Halibel, and Grimmjow; the Visored; the Fullbringers; the Kido Corps; and people without bankai. But instead it's just more for people who have already gotten a lot.
@@Crunchysopa52 Hmm that's something somebody else said wish the stolen got a wee bit extended so in fact you 👀 a little more from the Orhime / Chad 🇹🇩 and kiddo corps and the other side wish more Quincy spells and magic was used.

@@skreyao4898 except the Quincy started with an attack on the hollows, the Kido Corps are Shinigami, the Shinigami brought in all those other groups...
@@wanderlustwarrior Because they needed more fodder soldier to help them. They heard about Aizen and what he was doing before he got sealed. Yhwach wanted to try and test those arrancars if they bring something to the table for Quincy's if he gain control over them just like aizen but as we all know, the remaining arrancars are mostly trash. Not that it was necessary plan from Yhwach at the first place but, more like an experimental move to try and check those arrancars out. If it wasn't for aizen, i doubt Yhwach would be interested on hueco mundo since the first war if Quincy and shinigami didn't mentioned any arrancars or hollows involvement.
Mayuri’s bankai is a grotesque replicant of Kisuke’s bankai. Once again showing that Kisuke is a shining example of what all scientists in Bleach aspire to be.
Wrong. Mayuri shows there’s 2 faces of science. Ethical and unethical. He doesn’t want to be anyone but himself. His goal is to create and advance the SS and possibly reach Squad Zero status due to his achievements.
Mayuri was envious of Urahara but never cared to copy him. They both focus on different things, too... as Mayuri is more a biochemist compared to Urahara, who is more in the realm of physics... if we compared their science to real life. Of course they are all rounders but specialists. Mayuri's new bankai ability is more about adaptation whereas Urahara's is about modification. Both we only saw once, both particularly powerful. Funny enough Urahara's bankai comes off similar to Pernida's, one uses threads, the other veins.
I thought a Bankai is only as strong as the Reiatsu behind it. So I would figure it would be useless against someone like Yamamoto or others on that level. Considering they probably far surpass the power of Mayuri.
I love how Mayuri is the one who can change his bankai. It makes perfect sense, considering he doesn't like the word perfection and even evolves that it suit his needs. He doesn't limit himself.
What do you think of Mayuri's NEW Bankai? How does it compare to his original? And does it have any limits? Let me know!

With Urahara it can go in either way:
- If Mayuri spawns a Jizõ with insufficient data to attack Urahara, Urahara's "Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame" would be able to reconstruct that Jizõ making it harmless.
Mayuri it's you??
So this new bankai is basically a form of Devine General Mahoraga
FINALLY SOME MAYURI CONTENT!!!!
(9:49) it was never gonna be the same poison, mayuri always changes it
Mayuri has pretty unique taste in his inventions.
It's interesting how both Urahara and Mayuri, the 2 known captains of the 12 division, have true bankai's based on their scientific ability.
The way Mayuri's bankai is always modified kinda represents the dark side of science. In order to make advancements, it requires to do a lot of cruel and unspeakable thinks. And his bankai is just that.
It's like Batman and the Justice League ,he has a contingency plan for everyone .
My curiosity is: what would happen if this new and improved Bankai faced a Zanpakuto that could duplicate every last detail and ability of any other Zanpakuto at will?
Edit: I've just watched the Tokinado portion of CFYOW 3 video by Mr. Tommo (video I've never watched before until no) and I must say, it would be an interesting fight, but still don't know the final result for certain
Thanks Alisson for the idea to look up the character name! Actually helped
Basically Mayuri vs Tokinada
Always love Mayuri analyses ❤
I'm guessing his bankai acts like a stem cell. The fetal origin gives his bankai great adaptive skills. As such, like a stem cell.
Mayuri is the batman of the soul society
Mayuri's Bankai is basically infinite prep time
Ever since I saw Mayuri’s bankai at ten years old… the horn along with the baby cry sounding and the design have creeped me the hell out. This version is even more creepy
Two characters I’d like to see you do forgotten characters videos on are Chōjirō Sasakibe and Ashido Kanō
Can’t wait for the final fight with Mayuri and Pernida
Kisuke's bankai could just allow him to restructure himself after Mayuri made a custom made counter bankai....
@mister Tommo maybe a video about all the potential counters of Mayuri to all other bankai?
The Batman of Bleach!
@MrTommo2304 Has anyone ever told you that you would be an excellent Dungeon Master? Your descriptions are on point.
Who is Batman?
Aizen vs Mayuri vs Kusuke
Kisuke
Still love how Rukia and Renji's (true) Bankai both end up having a "wearable" aspect (even if Rukia's dress is purely cosmetic) just like Ichigo's Fullbring.
I think it comes down to observation. He sees and analyzes the situation and his bankai just applies it to it.
"Continuosly birth new and improved babies" is a legitimately terrifying statement.
I remember reading & seeing this when Bleach was serialized and I WAS HORRIFIED!!!
So with enough prep time and data he can counter just about anybody? Hes basically crazy batman
There is an appearance of the original Bankai in a movie summoned to fight Kenpachi, with Zaraki saying, “So you finally lost it?”
I like his new Bankai
As i said time and time again he is the batman of bleach.
The nature of how he attained bankai is weird to me. I feel like he should be able to get a “true” shikai/bankai like how Ichigo and Renji did.
That is Mayuri Kurotsuchi new bankai he got something under his sleeve already
The fact that my birthday is on 15th July and that thousand year blood war will be coming in July is having me going insane
Someone clear this up for me:
IF A CAPTAIN HAS NEVER SHOWN THEIR BANKAI, HOW WOULD MAYURI THEN KNOW ABOUT IT AND THEN EVEN HAVE A COUNTER FOR IT?
Thanks!
Your videos butter my biscuits thank you
I think that if someone has a very high sp the baby can't overpower that since it's still limited by Mayuri's SP so it is a perfect counter mainly to meta abilities.
Do you think the bankai we see in SS arc is the original one? Or has Mayuri already modified it?
Probably modified already though😅😮😮😅❤
I love Mayuri he is my favourite character
Unlikely hero?
There's a reason he still has his job!
👑👨🏾💼🌹❤️💯
Every other capt? Even aizens? Would be interesting to know if he knew aizens true bankai
Dude szayelporro vs mayuri was soooooo cool
The arc that begins with bankai being stolen is "great for bankai." And this is my problem with the arc. We could've seen a lot more from Chad and Orihime; Nel, Halibel, and Grimmjow; the Visored; the Fullbringers; the Kido Corps; and people without bankai.
But instead it's just more for people who have already gotten a lot.
Ikr
@@Crunchysopa52 Hmm that's something somebody else said wish the stolen got a wee bit extended so in fact you 👀 a little more from the Orhime / Chad 🇹🇩 and kiddo corps and the other side wish more Quincy spells and magic was used.
this is shinigami vs quincy not fullbringer, hollows, arrancars vs quincy.
It is theme for revenge battle from the 1000 years old feud between Shinigami and Quincy's
I wonder how well Matai Fukuin Shotai would work against Askin's Vollständig. Would it be a better pick than Benihime?
North of his daughter - Nemu… that’s a weird relationship 😂
@@Ephideltrancedon't compare pernida viens to urahara threads urahara won't be able to change anything in pernida 😂😂
why are you scared? it's just a baby.
the baby: 9:07
You nailed it well-done.
I thought a Bankai is only as strong as the Reiatsu behind it. So I would figure it would be useless against someone like Yamamoto or others on that level. Considering they probably far surpass the power of Mayuri.
I feel that u just like saying Pernida's entire name😂
I feel the pain that Mayuri's zanpakuto experiences ..I feel sorry for it
One of my favorite bankai
In before Mayuri hax his zanpakuto so hard it just become an Asauchi again: infinite potential in a can
I think his original bankai had a anime only power whereas it would scream & paralyze it’s opponent or am i mistaken?
So completely different character question, but would Rangiku be much stronger if she still had part of the Soul King within her?
It depends on which part of the soul king if you know what I mean *wink wink*
@@ultrainstinctshaggy669 ha, that made me chuckle
duh
5:40 begs the question what Mayuri's bankai would've turned out to be WITHOUT this fetus
I love how Mayuri is the one who can change his bankai. It makes perfect sense, considering he doesn't like the word perfection and even evolves that it suit his needs. He doesn't limit himself.
Soul Society is lucky that my boy Mayuri was on there side
I like how Mayuri's Bankai is a baby and Urahara's is like sorr of a mother
I wonder if Mayuri can make his Banki see through Aizen’s hypnosis.
Mayuri new banka have the "where is my chicken nugguys" kinda vibe
I wonder, could he created a perfect counter to the miracle? the almighty?
how would those work?
