I personnally have been taking 6000 IU of Vitamin D since I begun listening to you Dr. John. The results are nothing short of remarkable. First of all my immunity is working much better, my low level inflammation has basically vanished, and my muscles feel much more flexible. But the biggest difference is with my mental health as I find it much easier to relax and letting go of my anxiety. Of course I know that this is anecdotal evidence, but for me it has made a real difference.
God Bless!
No it’s true it will help with anxiety and depression. Magnesium also is great for anxiety/depression etc
thats good to hear. I have been a user for decades and take 10000iu in winter along with k2 mk7 and magnesium and a host of other vitamins and minerals. Look up Niacin for anxiety. I take it instead of anti depressants. so much better. go to www.doctoryourself.com and look up depression and anxiety. wonderful site. Do you also get your blood tested every year. I do and i like them over 150mmol/l
20 minutes of exposing 80% of your body in the sun, no sunblock filter, for 15 minutes , your skin will produce 10.000IU of vitamin D3 - that is the daily recommended dosis

My first daughter was born in 1968 (52 years ago). At that time, when I went to the baby clinic, I was given a small dropper bottle of Vitamins A&D. This was added ( a few drops a day) to the baby formula as standard. They obviously knew 52 years ago that Vitamin D was important to us all.
Yes, but only about the rickets side of things.
Breastmilk does not contain vitamin d and so babies are recomended to supplement..
All from the 70’s AD-drops were given for free to parents of children up to the age of 5 in Sweden. They have changed it now to only being Vitamin D and only for children up to the age of 2.
First of all, lots of food items are today enriched with Vitamin A. Second the type of Vitamin A often used in supplements which is animalic (retinol) can cause osteoperosis, weakness of the bones which is totally contraproductive.
It’s much better to get your Vitamin A from a healthy diet containing caroten (yes, the stuff from carrots). That’s the plant based Vitamin A source which does not have these adverse effects.

This has become a daily must see viewing for me since I came across it about a month ago. I have leaned so much more from your daily vlogs than I would have from mainstream media. Everybody needs to watch these. I feel so much more optimistic and informed. Thanks for all your hard work John, and the excellent way you put the information across.
He has fabricated a FAKE email from Dr. Fauci via Sweden/Finnish conman Kari Hjelt, supposedly taken 6000 IU of vitamin D per day,
Most people can spot spelling errors with day, time and date (for example 3.07 should be 03:07).
He has now encouraged people to take LARGE HARMFUL doses! What a shame!
Thank you Dr. John, and thank you, Mrs. Campbell for your behind the scenes support. Things like Dr. John's vitamin D recommendations do get talked about. Word if mouth spreads the good information. So more people are benefitting than just those of us who are watching the videos. 😊🤗😼🌍🌎🌏🚸
I'm a 56 yo fairly light skinned female living in northern NY state (think dark, cold and 125 inches of snow yearly :p). My doctor tests all patients annually for vitamin D levels because deficiency is so common here. My levels have typically come back at the low end of the normal range, probably because I eat eggs and fish daily, but after starting 2000 IU daily, a couple years ago (take it in the morning) my vitamin D levels have been great, and I believe I get fewer of the winter viruses that float around here....
God Bless!
this is go bizarre: why have you decided to take only 2,000 iu, while it's so plainly obvious that ~5,000 iu would bring your levels not to 'low end of normal', but to excellent or optimized levels. Did your doctor tell you to do that?

I started to take vitamin D because of coronavirus craze (I know it's serious illness but I am tired from lockdown). I take little doze as on the instruction. And I was surprised but my depression ended. I live in the north, in Siberia, and I guess vitamin D deficiency is widespread here. My mom broke her arm, her bones are easily brokebele because of vitamin D deficiency. Thanks, doctor
I'm on the same latitude (60 degrees north approximately) and vitamin D deficiency is a real threat up here in wintertime (sun rises around 9 a.m. and sets at 3 p.m in December, and is very weak in winter = no vitamin D).
Traditional diets in such northern latitudes included large intakes of liver, fatty fish, and blubber and seal meat - all high in vitamin D, Cod liver oil, eggs, and liver are good sources and cheap too. With a good amount of green leafy vegetables like cabbage, kale, and brussel sprouts, etc. You'll get vitamin K which regulates vitamin D too. My mother used to dose us with Cod Liver Oil and Vitamin C tablets for coughs and colds. Now, I understand why.
Vitamin D and C are what you need
@@BigHenFor Nobody eat those traditional diets anymore, nowadays it's mostly about things you pick up from the supermarket! Tacos is a very popular dish, for example.

Happily take 125 microgrammes and not risk a vaccine and no need for a flu vaccine. Thank you for your advice which I have followed since January
I take 2000IU per day in the summer and 3000IU in Winter and have done for 10 years and have not had a cold of flu since, I also walk out every day and walk about 20 miles minimum a week.
I used to suffer 1 or 2 colds per year and 1 Flu effect every couple of years, I had SARS-CoV1 back in 2003 which I caught in China town London!
We need to get our blood levels up to 40ng/ml (30ng/ml minimum) and checking blood levels are best carried out in the winter months when D is low.
How do you take Vit D? Orally? Ive seen in that way one wouldd have to take lots of capsules.
I've taken it for years but have still had colds because I have young grandchildren LOL!

Well My one a day doesn’t even cover that 5uq is about 100, but I rely on cornflakes and rice Krispes and the sun. ☺️
I tested low for Vitamin D, and started taking 2,000IU daily, and still testing low for Vitamin D. Increasing the dosage to 3,000IU helped, but I live in the Pacific northwest and there's not much sunlight. When I contracted COVID-19 I suspect one of the reasons why I survived the infection was the very fact that I had been taking the larger dose of Vitamin D. "go to your doctor and get a test for vitamin d levels"
Have you tried going to see a gp recently? There's no way they would let you anywhere near the gp surgery for something like a vitamin d levels test in the current pandemic situation.
Very true!
I know, like I said, I'm not going to be pattering off to my busy GP, requesting to know the level of D in my blood. He's out to lunch on that suggestion - at least in a Canadian context.
I just got mine tested. It was 41 ng/ml and I take about 2000 iu/day. I'm in the US and had to get a blood test for multiple things.
I use the VA, they just send you to the lab. Then you get the dose you need. Might not need to see a doctor at all, just the referral to the lab. At least, that’s is how it works here for me. Husband private medical care, works the same way. Good luck.

My hematologist friend in the Far East has explained to me a decade ago the reason why so many are vitamin D deficient - even for those living between the Tropics. In the US holistic doctors have been advocating for 5000 iu per day for a LONG time according to your age and weight. It is of course safer to have our 25(OH)D3 level checked regularly. I have mine done in the summer and winter to adjust for sun exposure etc. Our teacher Dr Norm Shealy (founder of the American Holistic Medical Association) at our institute told us about it since the beginning of this century. He even advocated the doses to cover for H1N1 exposure and we have had patients on ECMO because of the disease and we were well covered and everyone was fine. In the UK we are not so well informed ... We are all covered where we work with Vitamin D3 (I take it with vitamin K2 as advised by Dr Shealy for synergy). It's about how much we have been informed and be open-minded. Vitamin D3 is a great immuno-modulator.

I've taken 6000-8000 for Hashimoto's. my vit d was very low 18--Hashimotos causes low vit d
Thank you for your efforts to help us understand. I greatly appreciate your time and knowledge. I always listen to the end. 👍
Thank you Dr. John for making things understandable. Much appreciated.👵💌👍
I take 'Caltrate 600+D3 with minerals'; D3 800 IU, Calcium 600 mg, Magnesium 50 mg, Zinc 7.5 mg, Copper 1 mg, Manganese 1.8 mg, Boron 250 mcg, as recommended by my oncologist to maintain bone health since I have been on Androgen Deprivation Therapy for over 7 years for prostate cancer. Working well according to labs and scans.
Just an FYI....Caltrate is made with calcium carbonate that is very hard to absorb in your body. Citracal is what you want to be taking. It's easily absorbable with or without food and contains all the necessary minerals except K2.
But, "Jarrow's Bone-up" is the best of all the calcium supplements you can buy on the market. It's in powder form inside a capsule. Contains all the minerals (D3, K2, Boron, Copper, magnesium, etc) necessary to transfer calcium to your bones and the areas it needs to be without depositing it in soft tissues.
Don't take supplements without asking a REAL doctor! ua-cam.com/video/mowRZeczqtc/v-deo.html
@@sunniva5335 'Real doctors' know very little regarding nutrition, hence why so many of them are overweight and unhealthy. I personally would not trust any doctor for nutritional advice. Also, your posts are very irritating and ill informed.
@@GlobalAdventurer due to another medical condition I need to take medication with food, so according to my very experienced oncologist, who treats mostly prostate cancer, calcium carbonate is the better choice. He follows a protocol of diet and dietary supplements with medical treatment.

I've said from day 1 that the viral load must affect severity and vitamin D has an impact on this too........but what do I know I am just a bookkeeper lol.
I'm a humble ex nurse LLT but I said from day one wear a mask take vit D, vit c and zinc got ridiculed for my belief but seems me and thee were not so wrong after all .
You are certainly helping get news out on V-D! Many friends are vitamin users for hair and beauty! But my interest is health! You get beauty, if you have health!
Let’s bet the Chinese have had a cure if they did this on purpose! You know their philosophy regarding people they do not like!
It is just a good odd that you were right.
Because in general, initial loads affect the severity, everybody knows that. However, there are many other infections, especially the slow growth, likes leprosy, malaria, or the aggressive and deadly ones, likes Ebola, cholera, tetanus, rabies, prions-infection, that the severity depends on the reaction of the immune system and the strains of the pathogen, not the initial loads (providing that they got enough number to successfully infect the hosts).
Second, nobody said that vitamin D plays no role in the severity of any infection, if the patients are in deficiency, let alone COVID-19. The dispute is, at what level the medical community should agree on as adequate to support a fully functional immune system.
Conclusions: Our findings do not support a potential link between vitamin D concentrations and risk of severe COVID-19 infection and mortality.
Recommendations for vitamin D supplementation to lessen COVID-19 risks may provide false reassurance.
The evidence for vitamin D supplementation is plagued by the use of small, poor-quality trials.
high-quality, high-level evidence for supplementation is frequently lacking. Vitamin D may prove to be a good surrogate for general well-being.

Excellent and informative. Thanks for your amazing efforts.
Thank you for consistently bringing the attention to vit d - I know you have been doing this since the start
Love this man always spot on with his advice ❤️❤️❤️
He has fabricated a FAKE email from Dr. Fauci via Sweden/Finnish conman Kari Hjelt, supposedly taken 6000 IU of vitamin D per day,
Most people can spot spelling errors with day, time and date (for example 3.07 should be 03:07).
He has now encouraged people to take LARGE HARMFUL doses! What a shame!
I've been taking 10,000/day for about 8 years and my blood level is good (72)
Same here
High doses of VitD can cause calcification.
@@sallygardiner7150
I think it has to be 30-40 thousand iu's a day or higher
@@sallygardiner7150 Watch the video of Dr. Heany that I posted in my comment above. He shows that there is no toxicity (hypercalcemia) at intakes below 30,000 IU/day. That's a lot higher than the intakes he recommends or that other people have reported they're taking here. Here's the link again: ua-cam.com/video/B9SNfrE7P1s/v-deo.html which jumps right to the study on toxicity (excess calcium levels).
10,000 is a bit on the high end
Thank you, Dr. Campbell, as always, for your very clear and valuable reporting.
Doc, a great addition to your excellent videos would be timestamps so we can browse through your video by subjets. Keep up the good work!
When I was severely deficient several year ago I was taking a much higher dose than I am taking now. I was deficient again in March I was told to take 2 50mcg a day. My level was normal last month when retested but she told me to keep taking them and we would retest again in December.
"Winter is coming" best delivered line in the video 😂
One reason for that: "winter is coming" really sounds like game of throne... Enlightening as always thank you Dr Campbell.
Fabulous video! Finally someone producing videos purely to inform. Well done sir.
The guidelines were established ages ago, with the aim of avoiding deficiency conditions like rickets.
Yes,and they are the Minimum for a healthy person, before electronics gadgets kept them indoors and sedentary.
@doug robertson
How clever.
@doug robertson 😄 haha. Rickets. Not crickets.
Very true. All of these recommended doses are decades old and are minimal doses.
86% of Americans take supplements. Expensive urine and harm to you kidneys! ua-cam.com/video/GLzwozJE2IM/v-deo.html
I've been taking 8,000 units a day plus zinc. So far, so good. I'm 66 y/o.
Thank you for the continued updates Dr.!
Thank you for your honest thoughts and findings. It's so difficult to find information that sounds trustworthy, but this does click right away. Yes, let's avoid information that is contaminated with politics!
John, people were infected with cow pox, which made them immu e to small pox. Love you work! Carry on.
But long before that, they were often deliberately inoculated with matter from the spots of smallpox sufferers. Variolation= deliberately inoculating with variola (smallpox); vaccination= deliberate inoculation with vaccinia (cow pox). I think variolation was done up to a hundred years before vaccination, but cowpox turned out to be safer as cowpox was normally mild and not disfiguring. I think Edward Jenner, who introduced vaccination, must have had an "eye for the girls", as it was his observation that milkmaids always had unblemished skin, where so many others had pockmarked complexions, that drove him to his discovery of the cross-immunity. I am not sure he necessarily understood how it worked, but it did.
Vitamin D3 needs to be combined with K2 ....along with adequate calcium and magnesium. It is not so simple as... "take Vitamin D."
and Zinc and green tea or Quercetin?
The mask games in the beginning decreased trust, I believe. Mothers intuited in March, and sold out thread, material and elastic to make home-made ones. The WHO was LAST to admit they helped. Thanks for your honesty. You have gained my trust. You never pretend to know more than you do, you never pretend to have all the answers.
No, last to admit is Dr Theresa Tam, Canada's Chief Medical Officer. She still insists it protects others but not you, but does suggest wearing them when you cannot keep 2 metre distance 🙄
EAST TEXAS SAYS THANKS 🙏🏼, DOC♥️
Good stuff ♥️
I’ll be so happy when this is all over...
I’m really having issues with never leaving my home...
It’s a risk..
And I know it...
I’m not willing to take that risk yet..
See ya’, tomorrow ♥️
You may try obtaining an N95 mask and go for a walk during the quiet times of day, if possible.
So you send your child to school, he wears a mask at school. He gets a little sick, or no symptoms at all but when he is home he has no mask on. So, the family gets a huge dose of infection, and gets very sick or dies. Sounds like a vector to me. This whole thing sucks.
1958johndeere620 not being asked to wear masks in school
Why would family get "very sick and die"? Under 50 years chance of dying is LESS than a flu. Are you being unnecessarily scared shi*less?
@@ms-jl6dl My point is most people are not going to wear masks in their houses, I'm not. So if someone in the house has the infection then the other residents are going to get a higher dose of the infection. And yes I do worry about it. I have had several chest infections over the years and have scar tissue on my lungs. I get pleurisy in my lungs and it sucks. I think that gives me the right to be concerned jackass.
I personally take 10000ui every other day along with 100mg k2 and 150 mg magnesium. I need to get my levels tested to make sure I'm doing well as my level was 10 3 years ago and should be around 70 so I was very deficient hence the high dose.
I take 10000 IUs every day with 2000mcgsof K2
10.000 every day? thats a way too high dose if you are a healthy person. vitamin d accumulates and such a high dosis in long term is dangerous. blood calcium will increase and and will take long to get back to normal. Daily dose shoulndt be over 4k-6k depending on body weight and age for a healthy persons over a long period of time. In germany healthy people are recommented to take 10k in one week if they have deficit. stay healthy !
high dosis is up to 40.000 IU
R G get your calcium levels checked just incase it’s too high. Get ya d levels checked too. That’s a very high dose
@@JohnSmith-km5jw not true. Daily doses should be whatever it takes to get your levels up to optimal. You need to take vit k2 which directs calcium to your bones, plus magnesium. Plus your age, your weight, your ethnicity all play a role in how much you need. Some medicines deplete vit d. It also has a half life. The Coimbra protocol uses massive doses of Vit d for autoimmune diseases but they test all the time for problems. The bottom line is know what your level is. www.sunarc.org/ www.grassrootshealth.net/
Might be a good idea to get your Vitamin D level checked by your GP or from a private lab. I was taking a high dose of Vitamin D and spending as much time as possible outside in the sunshine over lockdown. In June, I used a reasonably priced home testing kit from Monitor My Health (monitormyhealth.org.uk) and discovered I was in the very high bracket so stopped taking the tablets. Will test again in November to see if I need to start taking Vitamin D again over winter.
Thanks for the great videos Dr. John. I’m sure your consistent messaging about the importance of healthy Vitamin D levels has saved many lives.
ALWAYS watching your very informative videos all the way to the end!
Wish everyone did that with mine! lol
Great science lesson😘very interesting data and info, glad to know masks really do help, shame not everyone wearing them. Thankyou John, much appreciated as always 🌸😊xxxxxx
"go to your doctor.." I live in Taiwan so I don't need to worry, but in the USA that is EXPENSIVE!! Just take a bunch of vitamin D
I went for my vitamin D test today, can't wait to hear the answer. In the meantime I'm taking 2000 iu @ day.
Always enjoy listening to you, Dr. Campbell and love your kind but straight forward approach to the facts. I wasn't quite able to discern if you feel there will ever be one vaccine that provides a "one and done" type of protection or if this will need to be on a yearly rotation like influenza?
Get a Vitamin D level test done? Good luck with that on the NHS at the moment unless you've presented with clear deficiency symptoms.
I had mine done during Lock down, just phone and tell them what you want, Dr won't see you but they will volunteer a nurse who will
If you are willing to pay £29 a laboratory test is available here www.vitamindtest.org.uk/ I use this lab 2-3 times a year and find it a very good service. Results are emailed to you around 2 weeks after they receive your blood sample. Results are in nMol/L and also tell you which category you are in. I find it's a much better way to find out your levels than approaching your doctor who are generally a right pain in the posterior about allowing you a blood test. The way I look at it £29 is sod ole now and again to ensure I have a good level. It's less than a night on the lash.
My vitamin D intake is halfway between a Campbell and a Fauci dose!
Good balance (4000)
Lol that is what I take.
Paula Van den Broeck same here too, have done since March
I’ve been taking vitamin D and telling others to for months and I’m no doctor. Oh, but you guys are so smart.
thats the thing 😂 people think you need to be a doctor to understand basic things about the human body and how immunity works
of course, credible sources matter. but when half the medical and pharma industry is driven by profit and business, a lot of them spew bullshit
medicine is really not difficult at all to understand. you just need to be able to read!
We need peer review for that UAE vaccinne study. Thanks for the heads up Dr Campbell ❤️
The Public Health England recommendation explicitly says that the 10 micro-gram dose is sufficient for bone and muscle health. It does not say that this dose is sufficient for immune system health. I believe that this is probably because the impact of vitamin D on the immune system was recently discovered whereas the association with rickets is long standing and well accepted.
No excuse not to have updated the information, especially now.
Christine P agreed
its been known for decades. If there is anything positive to have come out of this virus its the interest in Vit d. I test my levels every year and take 10000iu per day in winter along with its cofactors magnesium and vit k 2. most people eat enough calcium so dont need to take extra. www.sunarc.org/
Yes, I read through the comments to see if anyone had noted this. It is my understanding that there has not been enough research done related to IMMUNE SYSTEM and vitamin D, and thus the recommendations can't be updated yet. Meanwhile, I expect folks like Dr. Fauci have a strong hunch that it should be higher for immunity based on his general understanding. Also, I expect he works so much that he gets very little sun!
@@cherylmcduff5388 Vitamin A is another cofactor.
My insurance lapsed back in the spring and LabCorp billed me $1400 for a vitamin D test. Medicare for all.
I paid about $200 in the UK for private blood tests - 45 blood markers tested for and a detailed doctors report on the results.
Not sure where you are but here in Arizona it is $45 to have a test done without a doctors note or insurance via labcorp and Sonora quest
Refuse to pay.
