You have no clue. This actually does a ton to help your case in court (which is the only things that matters). Showing a judge or jury that you are non-aggressive, calm, and make any and all necessary minimal actions to keep the process as short and simple as possible will get you the minimal sentencing and conviction. Throwing the drugs out of the car and running away from them while denying they are his is the smartest move he made. Can't place the drugs physically on him and he won't get a drug charge. His lawyer might hug him for doing all the right things in this situation. You just have to hope he is smart enough to not do it again.
